One of life’s most precious wrapped gifts was born into the cold southern streets of New Orleans on Christmas Day. Not only was she a miracle, but she was extraordinarily gifted and a hustler. A tragic car accident causes her to lose the only heartbeat she grew accustomed to as she grew inside her mother. She not only loses both of her parents in the tragic accident, but she grows up unsure about her upbringing. Christmas wants the perfect regular life. Her dreams of going to designer school and making it against all odds seem to be out of reach as drastic obstacles make her reconsider everything. Finding out that her life was a whole lie, changes everything. Escaping to Dallas with her best friend, Camilla, seems to be perfect since a sex scandal with her teacher rocks the city, leaving her the complete ridicule and talk of New Orleans. New money, new men, and a new life is exciting until Pandora’s Box opens. Can she really trust the people around her? Is this new life going to make her or break her? Christmas is quickly persuaded into the fast life of sex, money, and a new career. This lifestyle takes a turn when she is introduced to Pierre, a green-eyed suave charmer. Camilla and Christmas’ relationship is paused when jealousy rears its ugly head. Hold on to your seat as you embark on the escapades of a New Orleans to Dallas Vixen.
I loved this story it was amazing from the first page to the end. This story is about a teen girl named Christmas and how she had a hard life growing up. Both of her parents died in a terrible car accident, every since then there have been nothing but lies and secrets surrounding Christmas.
To her best friend Camilla, to the guys Christmas thought that loved her she has been through a lot.
I think this story has a great foundation that shows that a bad situation can turn out into a good one. I loved how Christmas didnt allow people or her best friend to stop her from her dreams and I appreciate that. Christmas went from not finishing school to getting her GED and going to college on a full scholarships, thats real determination.
This is one of my favorite novels of the year just because it dealt with real life situations and how a bad situation turned into a beautiful one.
My only question is now that Christmas finally found her daughter, Valentine, how will Christmas's life be with her new life with Pierre and her children with him?
Overall I loved this novel and i seriously cant wait for the next installment. 5 great stars!!!!!!!!!!
This book was not what I expected but it was an very good read. One thing it brought to my attention the sick things people will do because of things that have hurt them. Kendra Rainey did a great job with expressing each character to a tee. Great job
