another grotesque serial killer is in town. for a small town there's a lot of murder.

Missy and Chas are getting ready for their New Year's celebration, Spencer goes on vacation, Carla is helping with the decorations, and they've hired a caterer for the party what could possibly go wrong? Well, someone is leaving dead animals at the house starting at 13 and counting down each day imitating the infamous Countdown killer and Chas is concerned making sure someone is with Missy all the time but they're still finding dead animals. Missy, Kel and Echo are doing their own investigating and take a little side trip to try and find out more information without success and from there it just all goes downhill fast with some terrifying twists and turns and suspense building until the shocking ending. Had my heart in my throat for the last several pages, great read.

Just that bit more addictive
While the author thought this was a bit darker the series needed a story like this to add significant depth to the characters, although I did find Chas a little bit removed/detached when it was so personal to his home. However the introduction of physical Kel added just enough to make up for it. I also love the realistic butting of personalities of Carla and Echo.

A Souble Nailbiter.
Couple of good story lines here. First of all, when the the note appears concerning the one who sies for her, I took a different meaning. I surely thought they were referring to Spencer.
Secondly, nothing else was mentioned regarding Gus, the exterminator. I hope that byline will be followed up in the next book, an author's catch to keep readers coming back for more.

I really enjoyed this mystery, we get to learn more about Kel's vast knowledge on murderers (of all things), as well as his gym workout. It also gave depth to the world outside of Florida. They go to Illinois in this book which allows us to see a bit more of the world. I do love how Missy figures out the mystery a little before Chas.

This is another one of those frustrating reads where the storyline is completely entertaining and your hooked. Only for the story to rapidly end and leave you frustrated. I don't know why as soon as the book gets good the author decides to end it in 2 chapters.

So, I have read almost every book this amazing lady has written! I enjoy reading as an escape from my rather mundane life, and her books always help me do that. I read one in a day or two! I love her characters. Thank you Summer!

Fruitcake Murder
Wow, Kel sure surprised me with the boxing !! What awful things this person did to make his point. Missy was one brave and determined lady to visit a serial killer. I'm off to the next story . I have really enjoyed this series so far.

Wow, what a bad person does for vengeance!
I give this 10+ stars!
Boy, the gang has one heck of a lot of weird, sick and deranged things happening around the B&B Beach front Inn. Especially when Spencer went on vacation to re-center himself to function back in civilian life without flashbacks from his military service.
It was the countdown killer of the 12 gifts of Christmas, but the innocent animals paid the price for the revenge that is coursing in that person's mind and veins. Which has Missy, Echo, Carla and Kel freaked out and stressed will trying to plan for the big New Year's Eve party of all parties.
And there is Chas running around in circles trying to figure out what is going on and why.
You don't want to read at night so much, as I did and I had to stay up and watch tv to fall asleep.
You won't be disappointed!!!!!! Read this book for details.

Different type of plot, same great characters!
It's always a pleasure to visit with Chas, Missy, Echo and Kel. Although Spencer was not really much part of this story it was nice to see the group handle their problems without him. I was also very pleased that while Missy was still very much dependent on Chas she did make the decision to visit serial killer without checking in with Chas. A very satisfying read!

Another winner!
Excellent, fast paced cozy mystery. This series just gets better with every book. Fruitcake Murder is a little darker than a traditional cozy but, it's well worth the afternoon of reading. The mystery is well crafted and as always the characters are definitely enjoyable.

Will missy and Chaz survive
Spencer takes a vacation for the first time leaving the inn without the extra protege. Dead animals are left daily just like the count down killer had done. Who will save Missy when the killer strikes. A definite page Turner.

Deliciously sweet and wholesome mystery series
This series has been a delight to read. Nothing could have been better except a batch of cupcakes. The strength of the characters flows throughout the cast and the attention to details and descriptions made me feel like I was there.

Interestingly good.
Spencer needed a rest and Kel was great. So many things happening in this book. I just love these people. I feel like part of the family. Very well writen. Deserves the 5 Stars.

Definitely getting a little bit morw extreme and dangerous than a cozy if you use your imagination. Loved this one. One of my favorites.
