Good for a complex decision

Interesting article on childlessness. Coming from a position of being told I couldn't have children to having a surprise pregnancy (and losing it 10 weeks in) at 36 years old to successfully having a child at almost 38 years old, it put into coherent words a lot of my feelings and thoughts. The idea of grieving for the adult-only life you lose is intriguing.

Interesting Perspective

As a woman without children, I did relate to a lot of this, but not to the "loneliness" in my late 30s and 40s. Still, I found it interesting that I'm not the only one who doesn't feel "less" without kids.

Short article that says so much

I feel this is a well written article that gives a voice to women, like myself, that choose not to have children. I do wish it had delved a bit more into the male partners perspective, but I do feel the women they spoke to articulated the idea of being willingly child free in a way that explained, not defended, the choice we have made.

Is the question not, do I want to give up my lifestyle?

Years ago a co-worker told me the reason why they were not going to have children was, they had too much money invested in their education to think about having children. Maybe if graduates were not so much in debt their thinking would be different.

Great Look at a New Group of People

Well written and indepth article that answered a lot of questions about this s subject. Everyone should read this and respect this group of our society for taking the question of parenting seriously.

Well written

Thought provoking and well written article that considers the position of women in society today. We are pressured still to have children.
