This book help me to understand about the grief and mourning process, especially about the tasks of mourning. However, the information about grief counselling and therapy is too little and general, for examples the writter wrotes "to leave client within a balance of positive and negative feeling...", but he didn't tell us how to do that.
This was full of good info. Worden does a great job of explaining concepts and then following up with practical ideas regarding counseling through those concepts. A nice blend of theory and practicality.
This was a great nuts and bolts read for the fundamentals of grief counseling. I only wish it included a more multicultural discussion, as well as found a few passages (specifically around suicide) to be outdated.
Skipped some paragraphs that I didn't find relevant for my purpose, which was a general introduction to the subject at hand. Did read most of it and found it insightful, accessible and well argumented and explained.
Not my favorite Grief book, however it did provide some insightful conversations on different aspects of grief within specific communities such as child loss, HIV/AIDS, children losing a parent.
