About the author

The author of over 50 consecutive New York Times bestsellers, JAYNE ANN KRENTZ writes romantic-suspense in three different worlds: Contemporary (as Jayne Ann Krentz), historical (as Amanda Quick) and futuristic (as Jayne Castle). There are over 30 million copies of her books in print.

She earned a B.A. in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz and went on to obtain a Masters degree in Library Science from San Jose State University in California. Before she began writing full time she worked as a librarian in both academic and corporate libraries.

Not a lot happens in Eclipse Bay, Oregon. This means that any scandals remain fodder for gossip for decades. Years earlier, a fistfight broke out between Mitchell Madison and Sullivan Harte. There was a beautiful woman involved who had bankrupted their company and destroyed their friendship. Now the paths of their grandchildren are becoming intertwined. In "Eclipse Bay", Hannah Harte and Rafe Madison are brought together when Hannah's recently deceased great-aunt left her valuable home jointly to these two descendants of the feud. Each of them wishes to buy out the other and turn the property into an inn. In "Dawn in Eclipse Bay", Gabe Madison is a dissatisfied customer of Lillian Harte's matchmaking service. She is trying to close down her company to pursue a career in art. But Gabe insists that she still owes him another match. And in "Summer in Eclipse Bay", Nick Harte is a successful mystery writer and the single father of a young boy. He finds himself strongly attracted to Octavia Brightwell, the owner of two successful art galleries. But Octavia is the great-niece of the woman who started the feud between Nick's grandfather and his former partner. Each of these books would be a nice stand-alone contemporary romance. But bundled together in one volume, the repetition and redundancies are exhausting. I was happy to get to the last page and leave this petty little town to its small minded citizens.

I read these all separately, but it's definitely worth reading all 3 parts of the trilogy. Nicely paced, tightly plotted contemporary fiction with a romantic mystery slant.
