Olivia Tyler runs Tomorrow Foundation an agency that helps foster children find their forever homes. On the night of their charity action, she throws caution to the wind and hooks up with Max Right. Max is handsome and charismatic but when Olivia later discovers the man has a fiancé’ she wants nothing further to do with him. However, when Paige, a struggling teen needs help Olivia soon finds herself spending time with both. Max’s life is complicated and we soon discover more about Max and his so-called engagement.

Along Came Mr. Right was a cute read with a blend of romance, life and character growth. Max is a charming nerd but his pushover personality while filled with good intentions was not exactly something that made me swoon. Annalise Max’s so-called friend and fiancé was a horrible person. Her behavior and Max’s reactions only added to my annoyance. The romance had an instalove vibe, and with all the complications, I just did not feel the connections.

I struggled with parts of the plot like the disappearing paparazzi and tied up in a bow ending. Annalise is in the media spotlight, thus Max is, but the paparazzi disappeared when convenient for the plot, and left me wondering. And while I want an HEA for everyone, all the threads wrapped up a little too sweetly, I wanted a certain someone to suffer a little.

The audiobook of Along Came Mr. Right had some sweet moments and I had no trouble listening. Paige's character added warmth and was perhaps my favorite aspect of the story. Dara Rosenberg did a lovely job with the narration and I enjoyed the different voices she used for each character.

This is the first book I have read by Gerri Russell. When I received an invitation from the publisher to read via Net-Galley in exchange for an honest review, I decided to accept based on the book description. I am certainly glad I did! I just realized I have another one of Ms. Russell’s books I downloaded as a Kindle First months ago. Now, I can’t wait to read it as well.

Olivia knows all too well what it is like to end up in a foster home as a teenager. She now dedicates her life to helping children in this situation. When one of the teens she mentors is struggling in school, she finds her a tutor.

Imagine her surprise when she meets the tutor? He is none other than the man she had her first and only one-night stand with just a few nights before. The chemistry sizzles between them, but there is a problem, Mr. Right is engaged. How can she have these feelings for a man who is committed to another?

But all is not as it seems. Should she trust her instincts and give Max a chance, even though he can’t tell her about his fake engagement?

Along Came Mr. Right grabbed my attention from the first couple of pages. I love it when that happens. Even better, it kept me in its thrall throughout the book. This is a fast-paced story with a unique plot. It also has overtones of women’s fiction, but it is definitely a romance.

Olivia is an endearing character, and I liked her immediately and grew to love her as the story unfolds. She is so compassionate and caring towards Paige, the troubled teen. While it is hard to give her trust after what her ex-fiancé did, she is willing to wait when Max asks her to trust him.

Max Right is the typical boy-next-boy kind of guy who can’t say no to his life-long friend, even though it puts him in a ticklish situation. Because of an NDA, he can’t tell Olivia why his engagement is a fake. I felt his turmoil over this dilemma. The guy is really caught between losing his invention or the woman he is falling in love with.

The chemistry is great between Max and Olivia and my heart ached for their situation. This book starts out showing the sizzle right away, but then because of his fake engagement, they have to rein in their desire for each other to work together and help Paige. This creates fantastic sexual tension.

Another aspect of the story I thoroughly enjoyed was the dedication both show toward Paige. It’s this sub-plot that has me seeing this novel with women’s fiction elements. I enjoyed the chance to learn of the teen’s feelings and felt it added greatly to the story.

If you enjoy a light-hearted love story with more than fluff with a good bit of substance, then you will enjoy Along Came Mr. Right as much as I did. Happy reading!

I tried with this book, I really did. I was tempted to put it down within the first few chapters, but I stuck with it. Sadly, at a third of the way through, I conceded defeat.

Nothing about the one night stand between Max and Olivia worked for me. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them and it seemed out of character for both of them, add in Olivia’s behaviour afterwards and this book and I did not get off to a good start. The way Max simply forgets to mention his fiancée made things worse and to be honest I didn’t like either of them enough to keep going. I didn’t hate them either, I just found them uninteresting.

The language at times was a bit flowery and over the top too. It was more along the lines of a historical romance, of which I read and enjoy a lot, I just didn’t expect it in a contemporary.

In all it failed to grab me or keep my interest. I guess it just wasn’t for me.

"2 out of 5 stars. I really had hoped to love this novel since its book description was very intriguing. However, I struggled from the very beginning. I found myself bored with the first few chapters and didn’t really get into the plot until I was well into Chapter 13. Then for the characters it was just so hard to like them, I understand they did and acted the way they did because of everything that happened to them. In addition..."

I really enjoyed this one. At first I was hesitant but once the story really started to get going I was fully invested. I loved Max from the beginning but I just couldn't understand why he would put up with Annalise. He's trying to be a good friend I understand but that woman just needed to go. Olivia was everything Annalise wasn't. She's kind, loving, and giving. I enjoyed the chemistry between Olivia and Max and their interactions with Paige were wonderful. The story had lots of little twists that made it very interesting. Definitely one I would recommend to everyone.

A well written contemporary romance. I had problems with him choosing an app over her. It may have been his dream and his lifes work, but isn't his dream supposed to change when he falls in love?

I was a little bit skeptical of this book because it had a cheesy title, was 216 pages, and was an Amazon Prime book. I have hits and misses and I didn't really know what to expect from this book. I thought it was super cute and it was a quick read. I really liked both characters. I did find it kind of annoying with Olivia's back and forth. No we can't do this, he's engaged. Yes we can. It's just a business deal. Honestly, it really annoyed me. Overall, I did really like the story over all.

There were two things that I didn't like. I felt like I could connect with the characters but I wish we got more back story into their lives. I wish we got more detail of Olivia's life as a child and just got a deeper look over all. I felt like there wasn't much information about Olivia or Max's past and I really like that element of stories.

The second thing that annoyed me was Annalise. I know she was meant to be annoying but she got on my last nerves. She was a lying manipulating bitch that kept threatening Max. I honestly don't know why he would go along with a plan like that anyway but come on! He continued to let it go on until a week before the "fake wedding". He should have grown a backbone much sooner and told her he was through. Then, after Annalise caused all these problems and acts like a psycho, she flips a switch and feels bad for being a manipulating bitch and lets Max be with Olivia and donates her one million dollars from Max to Olivia's foundation. Like what? Where did that come from? She showed no remorse for the whole book and then all of a sudden becomes a saint and that's it? That really bothered me.

Interesting story.

Olivia has just left a toxic relationship that left her very hurt. She isn't the type of person to just fall into bed with someone shes a bit more uptight however she meets Max and the chemistry leads her to do just that. He hides his life from her and then expects her to wait for him.

I liked their relationship its built really from helping a teenager and I think they are both moral and ethical people. I just didn't like him having a fiance, it was different from her ex coming back and making trouble which is how most romance books go but it felt weird him having a current fiance he was essentially cheating on her and for a long time lieing.

The ending sort of sucked too. There was no apology from his fiancee for what she did and caused. Aside from all that I enjoyed them both as characters.

3.5 Stars for me but on the lower side.

The H was a complete doormat as he allowed his 'friend' to take responsibility for her getting pregnant from another person and sign a non-disclosure agreement stating that he would not tell anyone about it. He tells his best guy friend but not the woman he is falling in love with... really?

The h is willing to maintain a relationship for the benefit of a foster and realized that there was more to the story.

The villain was pure trash and never took responsibility for the damage she caused. The author even tried to justify why the villain was the way she was but the ending showed that if she had been honest from the beginning, all would have been fine.

If it weren't for the foster child in the story, this would have been a 2 star for me. The author has talent but missed the mark on the MCs and allowing the villain to walk away with no negative consequences.

This book had a great premise but I found the heroine weak and hypocritical. Her boyfriend cheated on her but she believes excuse after excuse from Mr. Right who is engaged by the way, in order to continue seeing him without his fiance knowing. She hates that her boyfriend was a cheater but she becomes the other woman, even after she makes note to herself that his excuses are typical lines a cheater would use. I'm sorry, but I don't have time in my life for characters like this. As for Mr. Right, who agrees to pose as the fiance and pretend to be the father of said fiance's baby? He's a teacher for pete's sake. And he's perfectly happy with the world thinking he would knock up his fiance and abandon her? It makes zero sense. I made it about 70% through the book before it just got aggravating beyond my ability to ignore. Sorry, it was just not for me

Bad on so many levels

This book went out of its way to be terrible. I read a lot of these books and understand the formula for these romance stories and also understand they’re going to mostly be cheesy and unrealistic. This one is on a completely different level - not in a good way. The writing is pretty awful and the story development is lacking. At the end I guess the writer was done writing so basically just made everything work out - including the bad guy (girl) literally just wake up one day and changing her thoughts and feelings about everything. So dumb. The cheese of the dialogue though - uugghhh. It was painful. So painful that I literally would have to stop listening to the audiobook and turn to something else. So bad. Just save yourself and read something else. This is trash.

Rated the book 3 stars out of 5. Thought the story was cute. Had some sessy scenes 😍... very romantic intimate scenes. I liked Olivia's character and the fact that she was willing to leave Max if he didn't figure out his situation. Max's character somewhat annoyed me towards the end because I couldn't understand why he kept letting himself be strung along and manipulated. Overall, I thought the ending was very sweet and loved how Paige ended up staying with the couple 😄. #gerrirussell #hotappdeveloper #fostercareworker #richgirlmanipulator #cantcalculatelove #romancebookreaders #romancebook #romancenovels #romancebooklovers #romancebookclub #romancebookaddict #romancebookreaders #hotbooks #bookandaudiobookonkindleunlimited

The constant will-they-or-won’t-they-end-up-together cloud looming over them got a tad too annoying there ... but thankfully, everything worked out in the end.

Of course!

Do apps really sell for $37 million dollars?

And although she did say she believed in them and kept falling into his arms, it irked me that she couldn’t stay away until he truly cut the (fake) engagement ties w/the childhood friend!

So are they all from the same town in/near Seattle? How are Ellie and Connor old friends (former couple?) yet Olivia only met Max now?

Or did I gloss over the synopsis, and Ellie & Connor had once dated as adults? Whatever, I would like to read their story too.

Two characters that have good hearts, a teen who needs some extra TLC, and some twists and turns you didn't expect. I loved the characters, and kept cheering on Paige. Olivia has a heart of gold, and goes above and beyond to help out teens who've got it a bit extra rough. I really liked that the characters were written realistically. I do wish Max would have wizened up a bit quicker, but he followed his heart in the end. The epilogue just made me smile and was the icing on the cake.

Good read

This is really a fairly typical but well written somewhat steamy romance, with a pair that will clearly end up together once they over some the obstacles presented. But threaded throughout that story is a good look at foster care, the challenges faced and the mind of people who make it work. And that elevates the book overall.

Along Came Mr. Right, written by Gerri Russell, is a fun, fast-paced, and engaging story. This is the first book that I have read by this author, but it won't be my last.

Olivia Tyler loves her job helping foster children find a home for the non-profit adoption agency she works for. She dedicates all of her time to her job, and is still trying to recover from a bad break-up. On the night of the charity auction for the adoption agency, she takes a chance on a man that helps her out of a bind she is in. She has an amazing night of mind-blowing sex, and thinks just maybe she found her Mr. Right. Her opinion suddenly changes when she finds out the man from that amazing night is someone else's fiance.

Max Right is hiding a secret. After his amazing night with Olivia, he wants to set the record straight, but he can't reveal the truth to her. He continues to struggle with what to do, but telling the truth means risking losing his invention that is about to be released. Things grow even more difficult when he is asked to help tutor a teen, Paige, that Olivia mentors. The two end up working together to help Paige, and do their best to keep their feelings out of it. But some things are easier said than done.

I loved the characters in the story, and especially like the interaction between Olivia and Paige. I felt there was great character development, and found the story somewhat unique. I felt sorry for Max, as it was obvious he truly cares for Olivia, and the secret he was keeping was tearing him apart. I loved Olivia's dedication to finding homes for the children, and Paige's story was definitely heartfelt. Overall, I felt this was a wonderful read that kept me engaged throughout. I would definitely recommend this book.

I was given a digital copy of this book from Montlake Romance and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Olivia was tired of being in control and responsible. Foe one night she wanted a fantasy with a man. That she could just push everything aside but of course she can’t. As she has alot of Seattle’s generous donors at her Tomorrow Foundation auction. She was the founder of her two year old foster to adopt program. Her clients would get the services they need from heart surgery to tutors and anything in between that was needed. It had been eight months since Olivia found out her fiance was a lying cheater. She had not dated or been alone with a man since and she felt that was fine. Or did Olivia really feel that way inside. Olivia’s dress got caught on the escalator and then a stranger stepped up and offered to help. Her dress was torn but that could not be helped now. The man who helped her was Max Right. Max asked her to have a drink with him after the auction.Max was designing a match making algorithm. Olivia’s foundation was important to her as she knew what it was like to be a teenager in the foster care system. Olivia finds out Max has a fiance and doesn’t want anything more to do with him and Max can’t tell her his fiance is fake or he risks losing his invention. Olivia is a mentor to Paige who is having problems at school so she ends up with a tutor that just happens to be Max.
I really liked this story. It grabbed your attention early on and kept it. This was fast paced and had a good plot. But I really felt bad that Max couldn’t be honest with Olivia as much as he wanted to. I felt bad for what both Max and Olivia went through because of this. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story. I recommend.

Wow this was a brilliant read which makes you go crazy with lots of emotion. Olivia runs Tomorrow Foundation which helps foster children and it's a cause nearest and dearest to her heart. She's recovering from a former relationship that left her devastated when she discovered her ex fiancé was cheating on her. She unexpectedly meets mysterious Max at an auction event in an unfortunate circumstances whereby her dress tassel gets stuck in the escalators. Embarrassed of the dressed being pulled away from her body and thousands of eyes witnessing that moment: she panics until she's hears Max offering his assistance. Both are incredibly attracted to each other and share a passionate night together. Their journey is just starting but things change when Olivia sees things on Facebook. This biggest obstacle in their way is Annalise. I wanted to throttle and slap Annalise: she was so infuriating. Although, Max was trying to be a good friend, I felt like shaking some sense into him, for the situation he got himself into. There are lots of twists and turns in this book: but I liked how Paige, a foster child, Olivia is helping, was integrated into the story. Helping Paige brings both Max and Olivia together: as they both want to help in their individual ways. Paige's difficult journey was beautifully captured especially, her transformation from a disturbed to confident and happy person. Fantastic book with a unique narrative and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

*4.5 Rounded Up

I really liked this a lot. Max and Olivia had sizzling chemistry and many fun and endearing moments. There was instalove, but it wasn't without some deeper bonding, so I really thought it worked.

Olivia runs a non-profit that works with children in the foster care system and there is a lot of focus on one of the girls that she worked with placing, Paige. I loved Paige and everything to do with her. Her character was sweet and intelligent and strong, despite the hardships life at thrown at her. Her story added so much heart (and some heartache!) to this story.

The "engagement" situation itself was an interesting twist, but felt a bit strange at times. The fact that Max was involved in a high-profile relationship felt like it only mattered when it was convenient for the plot. For instance, the papparazzi only followed him on a couple of occasions.

Anyone reading this will be happy to know that there isn't actually any cheating or a love triangle here. The wrench thrown into Max and Olivia's relationship is a little crazy, but is resolved in a satisfying, though almost surprising way.

I thought the setting of Seattle was great. Their adventures showcased the city nicely and built a great world that was very fitting for the characters.

*I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads*

This is the first book I've read by Gerri Russell, so I was going in with a clean slate. The writing style pleasantly surprised me. It was fun, fast-paced, and will keep the reader engaged till the last page.

The characters in the story were very thought out and enjoyable. Olivia is a hard working woman who helps foster children find permanent homes. She is trying to struggle through the aftermath of a bad breakup. One night at a charity actuation for her company she meets a man, and they spend one magical night having sex.

Max enjoyed his night with Olivia, but he didn't tell her everything. The secret he is keeping will ruin everything. Does he tell her or does he keep her in the dark?

Overall my favorite character was Paige. Her story was heartfelt. She also had amazing character development throughout the story.

I am giving this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a complicated/relatable love story.

Hot new release from Gerri Russell!

Olivia Tyler pours her heart and soul into her non profit agency changing the lives of youth caught up in the foster adopt program. A chance meeting at the annual fundraising event lands the practically perfect Max Right into her arms and unknowingly into her heart.

As fate would have it Max crosses her path in more than just the fundraising area of her life. There are twists and turns as the story unfolds and we follow a bit of fantasy and of course reality while venturing into the world of foster care through many different lenses. As the story is set in Seattle, Washington USA it's fun to read about many local attractions and places familiar to anyone who has been our lives here and gives yet another dimension to the story.

Great, fun read! Give Along Came Mr. Right a read you won't be disappointed.

I skimmed, I yawned. I skimmed, I yawned. I read... well, you can guess the rest. Honestly the only things I liked where the final acknowledgements and Paige's character. Everything else just felt forced. Olivia felt so attracted to Max because he was attractive and smelled like oranges? Seriously, take the girl to an orange grove and let her loose so she'll leave the "engaged" man alone. I also had such a hard time with how everyone had (at some point or other) the same epiphanies, the same mode of thinking and the same speech patterns. I'm sorry, but I just couldn't get lost in the "romance" and Annalise wasn't the only one I was tired of by the end of this book.
