Choosing natural beauty doesn't mean ditching hi-tech products in favor of homemade potions. It means being conscious about what you're what are you putting on your skin, what does it do, and where does it come from? This honest, expert book will teach you how to recognize what your skin needs and how to buy the best products for you. It offers both time-honored and modern techniques, tips, and guidance for all ages, and showcases the powerful natural ingredients and brands that all beauty lovers should know about.
I'm in my twenties and was never much into makeup, and this book gives a completely simple overview of skincare, how to evaluate ingredients in your shampoos, creams, makeup, it gives you examples of what to look for if you're buying, or natural solutions if you're deciding to make it. I even bought a physical copy, so if you're looking for a simple to care for yourself guide and don't want to spend hours researching, I recommend it. I loved the simplicity, so it's perfect for beginners in my opinion.
Fantastically informative book; I will keep this on my dresser and will keep referring back to the handy lists and charts!
My only complaint would be that a lot of the products recommended in the book are at the more high-end of the green beauty market... you can definitely find cheaper options if your budget is lower!
Very interesting Green-bible. Bought this two years ago before becoming a Content . Nice book and information although I agree with previous reviews: it’s a bit too much on the high-end side, I would have appreciated more affordable products recommendations.
Advice in this book goes far beyond beauty. Easy skincare recipes that are included really work - especially chamomile and tulsi toner or probiotic face mask.
Essential reading for anyone who's interested in or wears beauty products. So many useful tips - completely changed the way I look at my skincare and beauty regimes.
An all-in-one beauty and health book! Switching into natural beauty especially skincare can be quite an investment. This book recommends you to take one step at a time by providing the information you need before you jump into it. The book guides you on how to read labels, logos, what ingredients you should look/avoid for, knowing your facial skin, body, hair. This also gives you insight into the beauty industries, how products are made, and also trends surrounding the production process and ingredients.
More than that, the author is very informative in telling you about what's going on inside your body, how foods and diet affect your well-being (which then shows up on your skin) so it is more than just a book about beauty but it is also about health as well. At the end of the book, you can find beauty rituals and recipes to make homemade masks, scrubs, body butter using natural ingredients such as essential oils, honey, other 'food-state' skincare ingredients you can easily find in your kitchen.
One downside I found is that most of the product recommendations mentioned in the book are high-end beauty products that are exclusive and not readily available in some countries. I didn't know the majority of the brands mentioned due to some of them are brands with small size productions sold only in the UK. But still, with every subject from skincare, makeups, foods to vitamins discussed inside the book, you're just smarter and good to go.
