And this one is my impossibly possible review. Well, Durjoy you did seize my heart and never returned following the writings after Till the last breath but,
description
Such striking concept ruined by crude, naïve, and unrealistic inscriptions. When I glance at the other works I seriously can’t place such drastic change.
The storyline was really good but inferiorly executed. The instant love I picked up for Danish Roy and Ankit Roy is the only thing remained stagnant till the end. I wish I could really connect to Aisha Paul, but the character map kept me distancing away.
I really wish I could have endowed this one with 4 stars.

And I spent my Sunday reading Durjoy Datta's 12th novel named "Our Impossible Love" which is my 5th book of this year and I'm very glad that I managed to complete this 289-pages book in a day. It's a very light read which makes it easy for you to keep turning pages to explore what will happen with the protagonist in the very next sentence. Durjoy Datta is a young author who knows what his young audience needs from him. He always manages to write a book based on teenagers yet touch a different layer of emotion each time. From last 2-3 years, he have begun experimenting with characters in his books which is proving him to be a writer better than many other claiming to sell more than him in off-seasons when these bestselling authors don't release their work. It is incredible on the author's part to write more than 12 books in his writing career of 9 years. Kudos!

Our Impossible Love is a story of Danish Roy and Aisha Paul, both different in their own way since school time, and find it very hard to compare themselves with their classmates and peers. But time brings both of them together and then how chemistry changes and twists and turns happen is what makes Our Impossible Love a book that you would ask everyone to read at least once. Yes, the initial 35-40 pages of the book are little annoying as some uncomfortable situations of both the characters are talked about and it becomes hard to accept in the initial pages itself and you assume that the whole book would carry about their trauma with their changing hormones etc. But the moment author starts introducing more characters in the story in form of Sarthak, Ankit, Vibhor etc, you know that the tale is about to begin.

Durjoy Datta has chosen to tell the story in first person for the main protagonists which gives a special touch to the narration. The Indian pulp-fiction writers should learn from Durjoy on how to speak about a current topic without being preachy yet speaking everything that's politically and morally correct. It doesn't bore you even for a while and you want to read the author's viewpoint on many other youth issues too. Author talks about uncomfortable sex a girl has to go through in the name of relationship, the scary days after the girl decides to stop the boy from misusing her body, an emotion of a boy who hears rumour about his sister sleeping with different boys daily, an emotional turmoil of a boy who realizes that he is a gay and his fight against daily abuses from his classmates for being something which isn't in his control, an inferiority complex of a boy who is always treated extra against his brother who's a performer and achiever etc.

This book talks on so many youth issues in such an interesting manner that you couldn't believe in the end that you read a story which actually opened your mind towards different kinds of people you have around you whom you don't even consider in your life. This book is definitely one of Durjoy's best attempt and the author have finally managed to find a purpose behind his passion of writing. I have always been a good critic to the author and have rated him both- High and Low but this time, it's definitely on a better side- I rate this book 3.9* out of 5. GO FOR IT! It's a recommendation. 0.1 less than 4 because I found climax little silly and not a very good end to a story which carried itself with a great stature throughout. :-)

Thanks.

An impossible love that gave direction and purpose to two souls; Aisha and Danish's Impossible Love..

I have grown up reading Durjoy Datta's books. Since college I have been crazy about his books and his deep dimples that make my heart tickle! And not just his dimples, the simplicity with which he writes his books, targeting regular but major problems of our society always leaves me in awe. Nothing can compete with the feeling of belonging that Durjoy's books give you.

Our Impossible Love by Durjoy Datta is a story about Aisha and Danish. Aisha, a late bloomer and a scholar, is busy figuring out her life just like a regular teenager. Sex, masturbation, boys, keeping up with grades and school politics keep her busy. And currently, she is busy with another important task, to figure out what it means to be a woman! In not far away circle of society, Danish is a regular 23 year old boy who is busy trying to pass his final year exams of psychology, a failure and someone who is sure that he will end up as a nobody. His life and its miniscule acheivements are overshadowed by his seed-funded-startup-founder-brother whom he loves more than his life.

Life takes a turn when Danish is coerced by his parents to take a job as a student counselor in Aisha's school to help out teenagers with their experimental phase. There he meets Aisha and helps her in figuring out what she wants in her life. Along with her, Danish starts to enjoy the work. But then, fate plays a dirty hand and threatens to destroy Aisha's image and Danish's love for her. An impossible love..

Our Impossible Love is a book that has everything that a good romantic peppy story needs. From a hero to a villain to an not-so-innocent girl, some sleazy twists and time to time lessons to be learnt from it. The book turned out to a really good read for me. My favorite character turned out to be the good old sweetheart Danish, who is always there for Aisha, for good and for bad. From guiding her towards the right direction to taking her out on mock dates so that she can practice, Danish is straight out of a girl's fantasy of dating a real man, rather than boy who has his one hand down his pants.

The story of Our Impossible Love is really engaging and as always, Durjoy Datta's writing is flawless. The issues highlighted are something that one would take notice of, the societal pressure our teenagers face these days, the quick judgement society passes without weighing pros and cons. A little ray of light was a glimpse into parents which are supportive of their children's decision, which was again something that i haven't read in a long time, something which was like a breathe of fresh air. Though i felt that the climax was dragged a little bit, but that is something which can be easily ignored.

Another thing to admire in the book was authenticity of the characters. Best example of it is in the first chapter of the book!

''Blood was trickling down my thighs. The pain felt as if i had given birth to a sixteen-wheel trailer. I pulled out the last tissue from the box and dabbed the blood off my thighs and the toilet seat. The bathroom still looked like a slaughterhouse. I felt every bit like an injured Rambo cauterizing his wounds, except i was mewing and not grunting''- Aisha Paul

Overall, Our Impossible Love is a book that you should definitely read. Its is something that you can relate to, a story that will take you back to your teenage days when you would have loved someone like Danish to be there in your life, to help you make some decisions, tell you what is right and what is wrong. I for one would have loved someone like that in my life.

A book that even serious and heavy readers like me would love, Our Impossible Love is something that you should not miss..

I read only 100 pages of this book, and could not muster enough strength to read it further. I have liked some of DD's earlier books, but this one is poor. Yes, girls can relate to the issues which he has successfully shown. My 2 stars are for that! But, otherwise, the story is poor, and contains a lot of FORCED F* words, and XXX scenes. You don't have to write a F word every time to make a dialogue look WOW! And you don't have to include a XXX scene, or its reference, on every page. Nothing should look forced in a story, especially when you have 10+ books already to your name. The story itself should be so powerful that you don't have to depend on XXX scenes to keep readers intrigued. Sorry DD, for me your Till The Last Breath remains your best work. Lenient 2 stars for this book.

To be very honest,we all love impossible love circumstances. This book depicted the love between an abused teenage girl and her school counselor.Should i call it love or just attraction?
I don’t know about Aisha but i definitely could see love in Danish’s eyes.We all need some comfort and a shoulder to cry on when we are not pretending to be strong. We need real life heroes like Danish.
As for Aisha, she is just a teenager. This is the time to make mistakes and take lessons from them. But would our society agree to it?I don’t think so...
Anyway,it was a good read 📚

Hmm so the story has already discussed and rehashed by many reviewers, so like always I won't do that. Now, why so many negative reviews it was an easy and fast read and if not for other distractions like Office and sleep I would have completed it in one sitting.

This is the story of Aisha and Danish along with their family members and friends. The story is told through first-person narration for all the characters so it's nice and different. The story moves ahead and it has many important points to discuss but not in any heavy-handed ways that may put you off. Well seems like this approach also put many people off. Well, grow up everybody.

I have all the books by Durjoy and would be finishing them one by one they have already been waiting a long time.

I liked this book and I am eager to see what else Durjoy can come up with. Till then Keep on Reading.

People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put I just love reading and so to that end I have made it my motto to just Keep on Reading. I love to read everything except for Self Help books but even those once in a while. I read almost all the genre but YA, Fantasy, Biographies are the most. My favorite series is, of course, Harry Potter but then there are many more books that I just adore. I have bookcases filled with books which are waiting to be read so can't stay and spend more time in this review, so remember I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.

Detailed review posted on: https://dreambookreviews.wordpress.co...

The author tried to bring out a love story in a new setting where the age is a bar and the all-powerful love conquers it all. Yay!. Wait. It didn’t turn out like that. It was more like a cheesy piece of work where there is a jobless guy who didn’t get a degree in psychology and ends up being a counselor to teenage kids at a high school. Okay and he is typically average and good for nothing.

There is school kid who looks super hot and somehow messed-up in terms of teenage drama and is need of a counselor(such an idiot!). So the cosmos come together and Ola! their fates get entangled into bloody knot.

Then some weird stuff that somehow never happened in my school happens and there is a whole new plot to the story and then Ta da! everyone lives happily ever after.

This latest book by Mr. Datta was sure different from all his earlier works. Right from the beginning he tried to give voice to the thinking of our generation and we dilemmas they face; The peer pressure and the efforts of trying to 'fit in' as per the standards of the society. It shows how LOVE is not considered a feeling and rather a mechanism these days. Along with that, he cites the hideousness prevailing in the mindsets of the people and empowers the freedom of living as you may please. Durjoy clearly tells you not to worry if you didn't had a shot at love in first time, you eventually will and it would be etherial. You just gotta have Patience and Experience the magic! Spreadlove. The more you do, the more you get :)

The book was not that much interesting as expected.

It was entertaining ,light read. The book is especially meant for teenagers.

The story revolves around 2 persons Aisha Paul and Danish Roy.

It also deals with the problems of teenagers , like periods, love, breakup , facing others

There is a message written on the book cover that Sometimes Love walks in when you least expect it to.

The story has funny elements also, there is sense of humour. The writing of the author is impressive .
Durjoy know how to impress the audience very well.I WOULD GIVE THIS BOOK ,4 OUT OF 5 STARS.

This is my first book by Durjoy Dutta.

It starts off with a promising premise, something which most of us would still consider a taboo and kudos to the author for taking this brave decision. The characters are few, but well described and written. However, I felt the story lost its grip somewhere in between and ended as the usual chick flick romance of happily ever after type.

Recommended to all chick flick lovers, others please stay away.
PS : I myself wouldn't have tried this book in first place, hadn't Amazon offered its Kindle version at a very low price.

I would like to rate this book 5 stars but there are books better than this so I can't... anyways I loved this book... it took me 2 days to finish this book, only because I had class, otherwise I would've completed this book in one sitting or atleast in a day... I actually bought this book way back in 2019 and even started reading the book but didn't complete it, I was in a 'reading slump' and I found this book kinda weird and stupid because this book is about a teenage girl and I was a teenager at that time and thought to myself "I'm a teenager too but I would never do that"... now after years, I've given this book a second chance, I found this weird and stupid but really cute, ok maybe not the book but the characters... because the book isn't just cute, it's cute in the beginning, heartbreaking in the middle and satisfying in the end... anyways I think the book was supposed to be weird and stupid because teenagers are weird and stupid....

Now from here on there's spoilers:

I found some conversations in this book baffling but in a fun way, especially Aisha's conversation with the principal, like girl who talks about masturbation to their principal... and her first conversation with Danish who is her student counsellor but since I knew they were gonna end up together it was kinda weird but in a good way... Aisha's friendship with Megha gave me mean girls vibe... To be honest idk why and how Namrata could forgive Aisha for what she did to her, I personally haven't been through what Namrata had to go through so I can't understand and judge their dynamics.... but I didn't like how Danish was trying to convince Namrata to forgive Aisha but it all ended nice so I think that's ok....I loved Aisha's and Danish's first date (practice date), how they felt like themselves and free when they were together... now about Aisha, she had this strong woman kinda vibes even before she knew what womanhood actually meant, I mean she was only starting to be a woman and even then she knew how a woman was supposed to be treated right like she didn't learn it from experience she just knew like it was inbuilt in her and I liked that, she thought that virginity is to be "shared" and not "lost", a belief that I share with her and I loved that for her, and thus it was so heartbreaking when she was r*ped by her own boyfriend, she was anticipating the moment she would share her virginity with someone she loved and loved her and she deemed worthy of it.... but then she lost it, didn't get a chance to share it, didn't get to experience it...everything that she had to endure just because she raised voice against it... what her friends had to go through just because they supported her...
Now I have to mention Norbu, he's just a huge green flag, the way he accepted and loves Namrata after what happened to her even though it's not her fault, it takes courage and true love for that, I mean everyone should be like him but they are not...
About Sarthak, he loved his little sister but I get him, when he wanted to distance himself from her... what happened to him was devastating especially in the locker room... how powerless and helpless they both, Aisha and Sarthak might have felt in those moments...thinking about it, my heart breaks for them...
Vibhor is just a piece of shit and he deserved what happened to him and maybe more...
Ankit was the best little brother ever...
Aisha's parents are the dream parents, they might be poor but they are rich in heart with love for their children
At last Danish, I'm just so happy that Danish was there for Aisha and I just love his humour, he might be unsuccessful in many ways but he's one of the nicest guys ever and a girl could live with that...
The first time I read this book which was only the first few pages, I felt like this teenage girl is kinda an exaggerated version of real teenagers but from what I've seen and heard over the years I believe there are teenagers like this in real life (not necessarily a bad thing)....

i can tell how much i feel whenever i read this book. compassion, empathy, sadness, injustioce, swooony, love, relatibility. i think this is the mmc which is average and happy being stupid cute in love and is so sweet i love him. no high expectation not breaking the bar. just being so nice person that i dont know i would love to have irl bcos he's what i think should be a companion like a partner from whom u can learn and whom you can teach and he will learn . he will be patient aqnd that myy friend is very nice trait. also Ankit was also good.

Aisha is amazing , curious learning mind. i think some way or another teenage mind enquire this much. she know her flaws and may be selfish but truly gonna say she just a kid . what happened to her was very wrong. if she was real i would reallly hope that she touches sky with her success like book was so simple yet i think bmust read. Like i would not say that my emotions were roller coaster it was pretty straight ride but it taught me somehow .there were not so big romantic gesture which might normally see in book world but there was simpleness which i thhing is goood . i read it when i was teenager like 15 and i thought that wow this is good because it catched something idk how to explain but this was simple , plain but i loved it

Our Impossible Love by Durjoy Datta is a poignant tale that delves deep into the complexities of relationships and love. Set against the backdrop of contemporary India, the novel navigates through the lives of Aisha and Danish, two individuals from different worlds whose paths unexpectedly intertwine. Durjoy Datta's narrative prowess shines through as he skillfully crafts a story that is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching. The characters are intricately developed, each grappling with their own insecurities, desires, and societal expectations. What sets this book apart is its exploration of unconventional love and the challenges faced by the protagonists as they navigate familial obligations, cultural barriers, and personal dilemmas. The author's ability to evoke empathy for his characters is commendable, drawing readers into their emotional turmoil and inner conflicts. Overall, "Our Impossible Love" is a compelling read that explores the complexities of modern relationships with sensitivity and depth. It's a book that stays with you, prompting reflection on the power of love and the choices we make in its pursuit.

A very light read, 6 hours for 289 pages. The story is far away from reality, I don't think schools in India are that swanky yet to have councilors/ sleepovers at boy's house and bloody boxing matches but I liked the way Durjoy has weaved the story, I liked his characters Danish and Aisha. Very well defined, I could actually visualize them while reading. The book reminded me of the series "13 reasons why"

The writing style is very good. It starts with a naive style. Then, as you progress along with the book the style and narration also matures.

The climax is the best part of this book. Please don't go for spoilers. Read it full.

Durjoy Datta never fails to make me fall in love all over again and he also convinced me age is just a number when you and your partner connect.
The way he have said actually characterized Danish an average looking boy " most self aware dumb person he have ever met"❤️
And Aisha the teen who's going through everything a normal school going girl go through; rumours😑, love❤️, wrong choices❌, loosing friends💔, making unexpected friends🤩, broken😥. Uhgg that is just perfect Durjoy Datta shows the reality in his novels and that's what I love the best about him and his novels.❤️
"Yes, I love your eyes—they are black and deep and almond-shaped but I see the kindness in those eyes I have never seen before".
Oh Danish is such a sweetheart 🥰 the way he was with Aisha in every step in her life the way he supported her the way he made her feel complete is just something that everyone wants✨✨

All over loved the book loved the characters and LOVE THE AUTHER❤️.

The heart gets what it what the heart wants. If it wanted more pain who was I to deny it?

There are a lot of mixed feelings about this book but personally, I like this one, not with the plot but with the problems of the generation that the book unveiled.
The book starts off from Aisha’s POV. Both the characters (and even the side characters) take their turn to narrate their stories which makes it clear for us to understand their life better. Aisha is a late bloomer and a confused teenager, like any other, she’s curious about sexuality, very much concerned about her image in the school. Her sensory curiosity of wanting new thrills and experiences lead her towards a dark phase of life and put her in great trouble.
On the other hand, our male protagonist, Danish Roy, a 23-year-old man, who has earned nothing in his whole life but failure, overshadowed by an overachieving brother… When he fails in his exam, he’s dragged into a school as a counselor to the students, and of course due to the recommendation of his parents. And there he meets Aisha, and it became a turning point in their career.
And when he confronted her with the rumors around the school, Aisha’s revelation gave many events to the story. (Exaggerated? YES!) And those spending time together made a feeling to rise in Danish’s heart for Aisha, but he can’t confess because of the student-teacher barrier, but he takes care of her and always stays by her side.
The initial few pages are a cringe to the whole story, it’s a bit annoying that a weak mind might DNF the book; it is hard to continue assuming that the whole book would carry their trauma with their changing aggressive hormones. (Did I say aggressive?)
But from the moment new characters have introduced the book took a new turn, the helplessness of Sartak, fighting with the societies tenants and living with his boyfriend (I loved the reference to the LGBTQ it was beautifully illustrated) I loved Ankit for being a supportive brother to Danish during his hard times, he was like a guide and friend to him, never discouraging Danish and giving suggestions and helps.
The Indian pulp-fiction writers should learn from Durjoy on how to speak about a current topic without being preachy yet speaking everything that's politically and morally correct. It doesn't bore you even for a while and you want to read the author's viewpoint on many other youth issues too. The author talks about uncomfortable sex a girl has to go through in the name of a relationship, the scary days after the girl decides to stop the boy from misusing her body, an emotion of a boy who hears a rumor about his sister sleeping with different boys daily, and emotional turmoil of a boy who realizes that he is a gay and his fight against daily abuses from his classmates for being something which isn't in his control, an inferiority complex of a boy who is always treated extra against his brother who's a performer and achiever, etc.
Today's teenagers, the interworking of their mind & heart, this story captures it precisely well. Though there seemed like a little exaggeration here & there, every character is on its own & this is how today's generation is, I guess?
This book talks about so many youth issues in such an interesting manner that you couldn't believe in the end that you read a story which actually opened your mind towards different kinds of people you have around you whom you don't even consider in your life. This book is definitely one of Durjoy's best attempts and the author has finally managed to find a purpose behind his passion for writing.

The book starts with Aisha who is suffering from some problems and waiting to become a woman from a girl and when that happened, it's like mini festival in her family. (I tried to write it in as decent way I could.)
Danish, elder brother of Ankit who's business tycoon and highly successful, is still searching for a reason for his existence. He is jealous of Ankit's success but jealous enough to work in direction of being more successful than him. Family & society, of course, likes Ankit more and it is torturous for Danish.
I don't want to reveal all the story as it'll be not good thing to do but just putting some introduction to the two main characters around whom the story revolves. Apart from there is Aisha's ill mother, a family-man father, a younger brother Sarthak who later turned out to be a gay are there. Ankit's girlfriend, her cousin also exist. Aisha's few friends and a boyfriend who raped her twice are there in the story.
The story of Danish is good and something we can relate to but I personally couldn't get any attachment with Aisha or her part. It's basically a love story between a counsellor and his student client. Both having their share of sadness and past burden of life. Two well-to-do families making it beautiful.
Like every book of Durjoy, there's an important role for every character in this story. Sometimes it feels like bit stretched bit too much but still not boring. It's not a gripping one but you will enjoy it in parts. Few cute & lovely & hilarious & emotional moments will make you read it further Disappointed by the way it ended and left with no emotions, happy or sad, which is not Durjoy type; once I even thought the book has 100 pages missing, like it so incomplete ending. I read his When Only Love Remains and Till The Last Breath and I was expecting something of that type but disappointed badly. More irritating was the parts where you feel like you're reading some soft-porn.
I'll recommend it only if you get it at some reasonable price.

Story of Aisha-Danish, student- teacher love story not a bad pathetic one but a very sweet and delicate relationship. As whole this was a good love story with humor and touch modernity in it, things we speak about, how much irrational we become when thinking about an abused girl, we blame her and criticize the victim not the accused, how we become shallow when someone express their love for the same sex.
This book was again something different from Durjoy's work . It was a good attempt but its my personal belief that it could have been better . As Durjoy's work is loved and appreciated by me I never failed to read any of his book .
It was a nice experience, keep writing hope to read more of your works.

Well i have just finished it yesterday. I love almost all books written by Durjoy. The story written by Durjoy is amazing. It not only tells us how important is love for us, it also tells us how we are important for ourselves. We should learn to love ourselves and stand up for our own self. No one is this world will support you unless you support yourself. The way Durjoy has taken the characters and their stories to a new level, is just amazing. Danish is my favourite character. He is so understanding and loving. This is not only a love story, but a story on how we can do better in our life. How we can improve ourselves and lead a good life.
