A Historical Inspirational Western Romance Collection Jessie’s Bride ~ Book 1
Jessie Kincaid doesn’t plan to follow in his three older brothers’ footsteps, which seems to include being bachelors. There might be twice as many men as women in their town, but there are still other ways to go about finding, or competing, for a wife.
Jessie begins writing Sarah Engle in hopes that she will become his mail order bride. Not everyone is happy with their decision to wed. When the preacher said, till death do you part, did he mean literally? Or can a mail order bride and her groom truly have a happily ever after ending?
Montana’s Bride ~ Book 2
Montana Kincaid figures if writing a mail order bride worked out so well for his youngest brother, why not try it himself? He’s made sure to ask all the right questions so he doesn’t end up with any of the surprises Jessie had. But life is often full of surprises—unfortunately, they’re not all good surprises!
Mary Dobson lost her parents when she was still a child. Her aunt and uncle took her in and to raise. Out of obligation, Mary corresponded with Calvin, a friend of theirs, but stopped writing him once she started receiving letters from Montana. Unsettled by a recent letter from Calvin, Mary decides it best that she join her fiancé, Montana, several months earlier than planned.
Did runaway brides exist as early as the 1800s? Or is there more trouble brewing on the homestead? The Kincaids are not strangers to danger, but this time, will they lose a new addition to their family?
Caleb’s Bride ~ Book 3
Caleb Kincaid only planned on having a night on the town—playing poker. Ma never liked him gambling, and he was starting to understand why. Especially when he ends up winning a hand that will change his life.
Naomi Hudson had hoped to become a mail order bride in order to get away from having to care for her family—namely her pa and two older brothers. But one night when Pa is drunk, he gambles away her hand in marriage. It seems that even an older fiancé isn’t totally interested in her, since he soon loses her to someone else. Doesn’t anyone want to marry her for who she is? Can Naomi find it in her heart to care for a man out of love, especially when he needs her most?
Marshall’s Bride ~ Book 4
Is Marshall Kincaid getting married? Maybe someone should have told him.
Lizzie Neuman came to America filled with hopes and dreams for her and her husband. His unexpected death left her stranded in a new country. Not having anywhere to turn, she reluctantly responds to an ad for a mail order bride.
Marshall never planned to marry. In his line of work, he had to worry about people he arrested in the past coming after him. He accepted the path he’d chosen when he agreed to become the sheriff. He never intended to put a wife or children in harm’s way. So when Lizzie shows up in town, claiming to be his fiancée, and holding some letters supposedly from him, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out something isn’t right.
Who knew enough about Marshall to write such personal letters? Could this be an elaborate scheme to get revenge? Or is Lizzie the realization of a dream he never dared have?
Husband of the Bride ~ Book 5
Widowed for years, Ma has been the matriarch of the family, facing the challenges of raising four boys who are now men.
I enjoyed these stories very much. The Kincaid brothers (4 of them) all wrote to a mail order bride and found someone to love that met their personality. The last book was about their Ma and how she found love again with someone right their in their town.
I am sad to have read the whole series and not have updates on the whole family as it expands with new members.

Each story is delightful, with entertaining and witty dialogue. You will fall in love with this family and their strong ties and faith in God.
1. Mail Order Brides: Jessie's Bride (A historical western romance novelette series ~ Book 1) Love Prevails (4 stars) This is a short mail order bride story. Jessie Kincaid has been writing to Sarah Engle and sends her a ticket to come so they can marry. Jessie, 24 years of age, is the youngest of four boys being raised by their mother, their father having passed away. Sarah is raising two brothers and a con-artist father, her mother having passed away. The storyline and dialogue is sweet and simple, with twists and turns making it entertaining. Surprises happens when they marry and none of Jessie's family even knows he has sent for a mail-order bride. Sarah's father has told her she can't marry Jessie, will she disobey him and go anyway? Some wording used in the story are not necessarily historical correct but still a fun story.
2. Mail Order Brides: Montana's Bride (A historical western romance novelette series ~ Book 2) Montana and his Mail Order Bride Mary This is the second book in this series with the Kincaid brothers and can easily read as a standalone. Montana Kincaid decided that if younger brother, Jessie, could get a sweet mail order bride, with Sarah, why not do the same. Mary Dobson lost both parents when she was very young and is living with an Aunt and Uncle who are pushing her to marry, but she wants it to be her choice, not theirs. This story has twist and turns with mystery and suspense and the dialogue is sweet. The Kincaid family are a loving and caring bunch with the four sons who have fun picking on each other, but when it comes to family and threats, they stick together.
3. Mail Order Brides: Caleb's Bride (A historical western romance novelette series ~ Book 3) by Susette Williams HE WON MY HAND IN MARRIAGE Another delightful mail order bride story, this time with Caleb Kincaid. Naomi Hudson is spunky and described as a spit-fire. One thing about the Kincaid men, all their mail order brides have unique stories behind them. This story is cute with twist and turns but also caring and compassion. The dialogue was witty and humorous. Remember, "Till death do us part doesn't always mean old age!" Even though this is part of a series, it reads just fine as a standalone story.
4. Mail Order Brides: Marshall's Bride (A historical western romance novelette series ~ Book 4) by Susette Williams NEVER UNDERESTIMATE A MOTHER! What a shock when Sheriff Marshall Kincaid returns to town and is congratulated by his Deputy on his impending nuptials. What fiancé? Lizzie Neuman and her husband Jeremiah left Ireland for the new adventure he wanted in America. But life gets in the way and death came aboard their ship. Now what is a young widow with no family or means to do, she must offer herself as a mail-order bride. Her journey to House Springs, Missouri comes with many new surprises and not all of them will be happy ones. How will Marshall deal with this unexpected surprise. Can marriage be a good thing for this lawman?
5. Mail Order Brides: Husband of the Bride (A historical western romance novelette series ~ Book 5) FINDING LOVE AGAIN This is the final book in this series of the Kincaid family. Jenny, better known to everyone as Ma, has finally seen all four of her sons married. Raising them on her own for the past twelve years, running a ranch and now patiently waiting for the arrival of grandchildren. It’s not easy feeling like you are all alone in a house full of people. She is known for meddling in other people’s business but don’t let anyone meddle back. Thaddeus is the Doctor for House Springs and to everyone, he is just known as Doc. He has eyes for Jenny and she for him, but she shies away when he makes it known he cares for her. Sometimes in life, nearly losing something or someone you love is a wake-up call. Will Doc and Ma find their HEA ending like her sons have? This story kept me captivated with heartwarming dialog and characters.
