The past sins of fathers will return to haunt their daughters in the final installment of the Alex and Cassidy series. What had started as a simple case three years earlier, forever altered the course of FBI Agent Alex Toles’ life. A committed investigator, Alex had always avoided personal entanglements. That was until she meet Cassidy O’Brien. She had been sent by President John Merrow to investigate threatening letters that had targeted Cassidy and her ex-husband Congressman Christopher O’Brien. Three years later, Alex finds herself a devoted wife and parent. Her life and her work center on Cassidy and their two children Dylan and Mackenzie. Alex’s desire to protect her family and her need to uncover the truth about the past has led her to assume control of her father’s company, Carecom—a company that serves The Central Intelligence Agency. Now a CIA agent, Alex’s real mission has been to root out the foundations of a group her father once belonged to known as The Collaborative. In an effort to undermine The Collaborative’s resources, Alex has moved to acquire multiple companies that serve the intelligence complex. The latest acquisition, a pharmaceutical company called MyoGen, stirring the intelligence community into a frenzy. As Alex moves to solidify the merger, her brother, Jonathan Krause finds himself pursuing a ghost from the past in a remote area of Siberia. What he discovers shakes the foundation of everything that everyone in Alex’s life thought they understood. The secrets held be MyoGen, the identities of Sphinx and the man known only as Lynx will be revealed. Children will confront the lies created by their parents. And, parents will endeavor to protect their children when the roots of international conspiracies are uncovered.

Well it doesn't disappoint. It just got better. Now, I guess I'll have to find something else to do. But honestly, finding another series of this quality is gonna be hard. This author's talent to maintain the anticipation throughout was awesome. She had me from the first to the last word. I'd love to have more adventures with Alex and Cassidy, and there is so much to explore regarding the other characters. Ok yes that was a hint if Nancy is listening. Brilliant series. Awesome story. Incredible characters. I loved it. Thank you.
This is an outstanding series about secret services, conspiracy, betrayal, friendship, love and family. There is so much going on in the world of secret services - and what frightened the most, it could be real.
#4 of this series remains very captivating too. Some of the mystery will be solved in the end. But it has still some surprises you’ll not expect. You are guessing all the time what comes next. I couldn’t put down the book.
All the characters are really well developed and intriguing. Especially Alex and Cassidy’s families. But also Jonathan, Claire and all the others. In every book you learn more about the characters, about their background, their past.
An intelligent and fascinating thriller series mixed with a romance. I love this combination. It reminds me of the Honor series by Radclyffe, which I really loved as well.
I highly recommend this series, and for better understanding, read it more or less in one flow, so you can’t forget who is who. There are so many people and agencies involved, it is not easy to follow them otherwise.
The final installment, who can you trust, who's behind all the craziness, will they be safe? It keeps you guessing all the time because it had so many surprises. It became more and more intriguing with each chapter. It was a nail-biting story. I'm really stunned, what a genius installment. The entire series was awesome but this final one was an incredible masterpiece, an phenomenal read. I really don't want this series to end and I'm going to miss Alex and Cassidy and the whole family enormously. They became an part of my life. Thank you so much for giving us readers so many hours of reading pleasure.
I finally finished this one and what a ride everything finally came full circle. Most of all I love how we finally found out what was wrong with Claire and who wouldn't love Alex and Cassidy.
This is a great series and a wonderful addition to my collection of Nancy Ann Healy novels. I love her work not just because of the political conspiracy plot but also because of Alex and Cassidy and speed racer. Watching this huge group of people become a true family and the Mish mash group of agents becoming family as well. It's like my wife's orphans holiday dinners because we have so many lgbtq family members that were thrown away by their families. I love how these all come together to make a true family. And wondering and can't wait to find out who the sperm donor ended up being for Kenzie and the twins.
Whoa! This one was full of intrigue and conspiracies!
More fantastic characters come into play in book four. I never would have expected MK-Ultra to be part of the plot, but it fit right in with the other happenings. There's a continuing engaging storyline throughout the series, and I've been binge-reading the books for the last five days! On to book five!!
So here is where everything comes to a head with more people losing their lives....some with sadness; some with about time.......the family bond simply seems to grow stronger but the pressure points for Alex and Cssidy just continue to grow and it is amazing that they can weather the storm but that is what true loves allows.....and it is interesting that Alex was emotional and metally strong to change herself to better provide for her family........endings and new alliances were interesting with a few suprises but ultimately, as we all know too well money and power coorrupt totally.......a great series!
This series is filled with international political intrigue and suspense. With so many characters and pawns throughout, it's hard to keep it all straight, but in this fourth book many answers are finally given and there are surprises galore!
On the home front with Alex and Cassidy's family, love pours out on every page. This is the first book I listened to rather than read and thought narrator Cassandra York did a fabulous job with so many voice parts. The epilogue is beautifully written and just begs for many more books to come. I love it and totally recommend this series!
Book four in the story of Alex and Cassidy continues not only their love affair, but also all of the intrigue from the previous books. The storyline includes international espionage, terrorism, and plenty of questions about where the other characters' loyalties lay. This book, like its predecessors, kept me turning page after page, unable to put it down. This book belongs on your must-read list.
Alex and Cassidy are a committed couple with two children and she’s running her father’s company, a CIA business front. Uncovering family secrets long buried and ghosts best left in their graves becoming a weekly occurrence. With a son and daughter they are working hard to survive the fight is coming to a head and good guys may lose. Exciting and hair raising schemes and villains. Exceptional series, writer and narrator.
The names of these book are spot on, the conspiracies in this one had me guessing for a good while, all the unlikely characters! One has to really question, what is honor and duty and at what cost? What can I say about this beautiful love story amidst such craziness... I will say, it's about time Sparrow was finally redeemed and understood, I'm rooting for her. I can't wait to see about this new double trouble that's on the way ;-)
Secrets, lies, family. Nancy Ann Healy tells a compelling story that will have you riveted. There is so much love and devotion to family that it is pouring off the pages. This series is amazing and have read it several times. It will be in my rereads for the future. I hope it doesn't end.
Nancy Ann Healy does it again. She creates strong, passionate, intelligent women who love women. Then she creates a fantastic mystery starring her heroines. As an older lesbian who remembers when these stories were a rarity, I am grateful. Don’t miss this series.
This is all spoilers and just more of a reminder for myself…
Spicy: 1/5 Omg, Fallon 😭 Claire was not only brainwashed but also helped Alex and her family?! Kudos to her! I’m Glad she is finally coming to her true self. Also, thank God Colonel Brackett is gone! But I am glad Claire didn’t kill her dad but that Cassidy’s dad did! Good riddance. But Poor Jane, she is losing so many people. Twins?!?

a little bit crazy but the ending pulls it together
Just finished the 4th book in this highly integrated series. Happy I finished it so I could learn who the bad guy was and whether the good guys livened happily ever afterwards. Got the answers I needed and sort of expected. Goo read!! About the weeks before sleep each evening 🧐
Five-star no doubt love the characters every time I read about Alex and Cassidy I don't want it to end. About to read Untold I know it will be great I thank you for these great books hope there's lots more to come.
Good story, many twists and turns. A little formulaic with the side stories, but interesting insights and emotions. Love the dialogue between Cass, Claire, Alex & Hawk.
It was enjoyable with nice flow & effortless progression to its engaging narrative & its ever-expanding roster of likeable & personable core characters make it a very very very enjoyable to read.
I have enjoyed this action pack suspenseful adventure of Alex and Cassidy as the face the unexpected and how they became stronger together and with their family.
So much action, the interaction between the characters was outstanding. I thought the writing flowed wonderfully and story was well written. Amazing...the past, present and future, so much revealed. New love found, betrayal of family, new life being created. Can't wait to see if there is another continuation of Alex and Cassidy...
The final installment of Alex & Cassidy does not disappoint. Conspiracy brings together all the elements that have driven this series. There are lots of "feels" and the answers to questions I have asked from the beginning (and some I never thought of asking). I cried, laughed, swore at some people, compared today's political climate to the storyline, gushed at the love, swooned at the love scenes, and now I am in mourning of Alex, Cassidy, and company. There are a few elements that made me uncomfortable because I can't even fathom humans acting that way, and then next thing I knew I was thrilled that examples of compassion and forgiveness replaced that. If you haven't read this series, I strongly encourage you to give it a whirl. If you have read some or all of the previous books, make sure you finish the series. Thank you, Nancy, for sharing these characters with us, and I hope someday we get an update or two on the Toles family.
Very good book. Plausible ending. Explained pretty much everything. So yeah it is worth 5 stars. But there were major failures here as well. The biggest one being Claire. Claire stole the show so often in these books that I kept thinking the writer would give her a break. Sadly no. She took the only port Claire had in a storm and gave her to Jonathan. Unacceptable. Even worse she created a character from no where and handed her to Claire. Are you kidding me? "Hawk" just comes out of the blue and the readers are expected to accept this? Claire was a great character and the writer let her down. I guess she didn't know what she had. Claire deserved Elena. Elena deserted Claire. All the writer's fault. What a true let down. It tainted the entire series. Zero stars for that. What a major disappointment.
This series is one of the best I have ever read. The twists, turns and cliffhangers were amazing. I laughed, cried and sat on the end of my seat trying to figure out how to read that much faster. The depth of the characters and their interactions with each other make this book series. I cursed the author when I finished book three, but book four was well worth the wait. I highly recommend this series to anyone and will read it again in the future!
I have concluded the series. It is one of the better series I have read because of the strength, integrity and love Cassidy and Alex have for each other and their children. Cassidy and Alex along with the children are the type of people I would invite over for family night. The evening could be filled with twists, turns and a possible cliffhanger.
