This was such a fun read with some laugh-out-loud moments.
Poor Tammy finds life hard after a messy divorce, but nonetheless she forces herself to move on - new home, new job ... new cat? Except, of the three, the only one she likes is the cat - and he's not hers to keep.
The humour here is infectious and you can really feel for Tammy as one thing after another goes wrong. When Princess the Cat arrives, her life seems just that little bit better, more bearable.
But, Princess is a 'he' named Tom, with a "proper job" in law enforcement.
Naturally, Tammy can't help but get involved, especially when Tom's owner is a pretty cute police officer.
Operation Tomcat involves finding out who is dealing drugs to kids in three local schools. Who could this criminal mastermind be? More to the point, can the trio catch the culprit?
A fun, short read guaranteed to brighten any afternoon.

Having read previous books by Tabitha, I can tell her writing is maturing and getting more sophisticated as the years go by. Just like a good wine indeed. Operation Tomcat, her latest work, is a shortish mystery story that entertains and amuses in equal parts. It doesn't provoke roars of laughter, like "Gift of Continence" did (nor does it intend to) but it does elicit regular smiles from the reader. The ending is a bit lacking though. A more complex ending would be the cherry on top of the cake.

It started out good. Funny even. Then it just got too stupid for words. I liked the bumbling cop at first but how did he not know who was running the drugs?? Or how did Tammy not put it together?? I just couldn't take the stupidity. Her bursts of anger out of nowhere were so strange. It was also weird (but funny) when Tammy yelled at her supervisor. Although I'd be THRILLED to be put on night shift.

This has a strong story line, to the point and no fillers that longer books have. It's enjoyable and easy to read. The mix of a romance and police mystery make it a good read and I look forward to more from this author. However, it could do with another edit.

This is a wonderful short read for an escapist jaunt to small town Australia. I loved the characters, especially Tammy. Also, the cat is awesome. A funny, light-hearted romp with mystery, romance and cats. What more could you want?

This book is an absolute gem and if, like me, you love romantic comedies, I urge you to give it a read. I've had the pleasure of devouring many excellent reads by this author, and I think this one is now my firm favourite with its genius one-liners. The description is perfect to absorb yourself in, and the dialogue, in my opinion, is 'bang on' realistic, so you jump into their world and interactions; I found myself laughing and screaming at the screen, all in the space of a few minutes, when I was reading it. The best way I can describe it, is that it's like a beautifully scripted farce. The two main characters (Ben and Tammy) are perfect for one another, with their bumbling ways and ditzy personalities. Yet, there is something deeper about them, too. They are not one-dimensional, by any means, which is why I would love to see this book turned into 'number one' in a series.

This one is short and sweet --light on plot, and not much of a mystery. But cute idea of the cat cop, and some appealing humor.
