Short read, but a good one for anyone who like to be organized & improve focus. 1. Plan in advance 2. Get to the route cause of distractions 3. Be still/calm 4.Eliminate sources of distractions 5.Get in to the flow 6.Don't multitask 7. Manage your time (urgency & importance matrix) 8. schedule time blocks 9. stick to your schedule/commit 10.get comfy (bad posture is a no no)
(3.5 rounded down) Be prepared to be called out! It’s a short and to-the-point collection of ‘common sense’ pointers and advice. I appreciate that it’s not full of fluff and unrelated stories.

I just finished listening to this book on Audible. I enjoyed this book. I found it very helpful. I wanted to listen to this book to see what it has to say because I have a hard time staying focused.
I actually struggle to create habits, any habits and even if I do get around to doing so, I struggle to see them through long enough to stick permenantly. Naturally a book like this would be of interest to me.
These were pretty to the point suggestions and explanations as to why some people struggle with forming habits more than others. Of course this is an audiobook that isn’t meant to be read only once but needs to be revisited often to help with guidance and motivation.
The book is well-written, the narration was good and overall, it was insightful.
This is a brief, effective book packed with simple and actionable strategies to maintain focus and clarity. I found this book beneficial since I could use improvement in "de-distractifying" my work environment.
A short and pleasant read/audiobook, but the simple steps were definitely not untold. I think most people already know these are the things they need to do to stay focused and take control of their time and their lives. It's nice to have reminders, but "untold, remarkable" is a stretch. Some of the advice is also oversimplified and really doesn't apply to some people. For example, it says that our brains work better in the morning but that's only true for morning people. For most night owls, like myself, our brains kick into high gear as it starts to get later. The better advice is not that we should do hard things first because our brains all work better earlier on. It's that we should time activities with the way our brain works.

a good short book to show how to stay focused, and remind us that staying focused is important in all aspects of life. i’ve been working on the concepts in this book in my life already, but hearing them again makes me motivated to stay on track.
key takeaways: •eliminate distractions by meditation •disconnect from social media •stop implosives early on •keep your mind in the present (shut off worries) •set priorities •work in block time (spend time wisely and live life more productively) •learn how to say no - your tasks keep piling up because you’re not saying no to others •simplfy things
I don't understand the 5 star ratings from previous reviewers. Skip this one; there's nothing concrete here.
Marketed as an adult self-help book, but I'd look at it more as a simplistic young adult book to give an overview on concepts. Even then, some topics don't delve enough into the "why," so the author comes off sounding like he's saying, "If it's not working, just believe/try harder." The only real actionable strategy listed in this book was a time management strategy lifted from Steven Covey's, "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" - an excellent book and one I'd recommend reading instead of this one if you actually want results.
The author explains that he was looking for something from others and not finding he was accomplishing his goals or happy . Then one day turned his mind silent. Listened to himself and realized the life he had was created from his own mind. And that to change, he needed to control his mind to get on track.
The book is about the 10 simple ways he learned how to do just that.
Short read, may be good for someone who is tiptoeing into the self-help world, but nothing to really write home about if you have read other self-help books. I did enjoy him discussing faith (not specifically religious faith, but the feeling of faith in general) as a useful component to mastering focus, which is they I have the read 3 stars.
This felt like listening to an article written by our students here in college. I am partially complimenting here, but I feel that this could've been written better (although, to be fair, it held true to its promise that it would be written in a simpler, more understandable way).
I started this audiobook just for something to listen to while I did some cleaning & I’m so glad I did. There were very simple, yet essential, reminders on how to stay focused and plan ahead. It was super helpful!
It’s not that the book was bad. I think it helped remind me to get back to being focused on my goals. Winter is a hard time for me to stay positive with the lack of sunlight. But, it is also information I’ve heard before and I didn’t hear anything original. So it was good but not super great.
Utter garbage. Author posits one must believe in a higher power/god in order to stay focused. I guess no atheists have ever been able to focus in his mind. The rest of the book is rehashing uber basic things like getting enough sleep and not scrolling. Don’t waste your time, even if it is short
Even though this audiobook contains tips and ideas that I’ve learned from other books or training sessions, it is a nice short, quick reminder of those things. Something I can listen to in the car when I’m feeling unfocused to remind me of what little things I can do to get back on track.
