This is the first series that I have actually gotten to the END of since I began this crazy journey of post-apocalyptic mania in 2012. I love the way this story concludes. I love Elle. And most of all, I love Bravo. He is the driving force behind this entire story. As always. ;) Thank you, dear readers! Can't wait to share End of Day with you! - Summer

This is the third and final part in the series and brings it all together, concluding the series nicely, whilst still giving enough latitude for crossover into the Collapse series for some of the main characters if wanted.
The Zero Trilogy is a great series, again showing Summer Lanes exceptional character writing skills, and over the three books, she allows her characters to grow, as well as giving them a great back story. My only minor complaint might be that some of the minor characters disappear and we never find out what happens to them (although this might occur in the crossover I mentioned?)
Zero Trilogy was a bit darker than Collapse was at the start, with a different perspective of the apocalypse at a grittier level. Summer has done a lot of research to give her world a realistic feel, making it an exceptionally good read.
As I said, the characters are the highlight of Summer Lane’s work, and this is no exception. Elle brings the story to life with her narrative of the apocalyptic world as she struggles to cope with her continuing battle against Omega and her journey to Sacramento. Summer does a wonderful job of running through the emotional spectrum with sadness, loneliness, tragedy, loss, young love, as well as those emotions associated with war. She does it so well that you can really associate with the characters.
Of course the book still has the best character to be introduced into the Collapse/Zero worldscape – Bravo – who is just brilliant. Bravo the bomb dog brings a new element of fun to the story. Bravo is brave and courageous when needed, but also highly amusing and gives a comedic outlet that leaves you laughing.
This is a brilliant ending to a great series, and its well worth the read!
If you like apocalyptic series, or action series, then you should read this, start with ‘Zero Day’ and make sure you stay with it, it's a great read and well worth it! This is great as a standalone series or in conjunction with the Collapse Series.

In a post-apocalyptic world a young teen named Elle travels a dangerous land in search of her uncle. She is accompanied by a bomb-sniffing dog with whom it seems she can communicate telepathically. Though this is the third book in the series and I had not read the first two I had no trouble picking up on the back story and immersing myself into the adventure of surviving in this hostile society.

The author, Summer Lane, develops an interesting chemistry between the girl and her dog. She also presents us with suspicious characters such as Cheng and Luli and Felix who surprise the reader along the way. Will there be romance? Treachery? Betrayal? Lane includes a few twists in this short novel to entertain the reader.

I was given an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review. I have to say I was distracted by the inordinate number of errors in this copy, but expect that all of these mistakes have been fixed in the final copy and therefore the star rating does not reflect the distraction.

What the rating does reflect is the well-polished and realistic dialogue, the attention to world-building, and the overall believability of the story. I noted some awkwardness in the writing and a few minor misses in revealing Cheng and Luli’s history, but overall I can recommend this book as appropriate for young adults, ages thirteen and up. I especially liked the unique relationship between the Elle and her dog, Bravo. Bravo exceeds any animal character I've read before.

I should preface this review with the fact that I am no literary critic and I'm just going to share what I felt about the book rather than some in depth analysis of the mechanics of story writing. Were there flaws in consistency or grammar? Most likely but they pale in comparison to the way the story itself seamed to weave itself around me and do what all good books do and make me forget my own world if only for a few hours. This book in particular was such a beautiful end to this part of the story. I fell in love with Elle and Bravo in the Collapse series and I was so excited to see they got a trilogy of their own. I love how the two developed such a close bond to where they always knew what the other was thinking. Bravo's comments throughout the book were probably my favorite aspect because I feel like dogs really do talk back to us if we know how to listen. The one downside to these books is that they are so short and I am forced to leave the characters and their world too soon. Overall if you are looking for an action packed novel that you can read in an afternoon Summer Lane's books are right for you.

Ok, so I delayed reading this, once I started it, because I didn't want it to end! Elle is such an amazing young woman! Bravo, I'm a dog lover but, this dog is a true hero! When they are need up on Mathias's boat and Elle was thrown overboard and separated from Bravo I cried! When they were reunited I cried harder LOL. We know where the story goes from here but I am sad to see the Elle and Bravo storyline end. Thank you for an amazing Trilogy Ms. Lane!

If you love dystopyian fiction with a strong female protagonist, you will absolutely love this book. What really sets this book apart is the wonderful relationship between the main character Elle and her brave dog Bravo. Using a dog as a main character in the book creates a special connection for readers who are fans of dogs, Garth Nix or Jack London. This book makes you look forward to a rainy day so you can devour the next one!

Excellent Series ending

Even though this is the last book in the series, the author did a fantastic job of keeping the story going into new directions while weaving the ending. Great author, love her work, look forward to many more books and series.

I like it. As always a writing style that perfectly blends action, kindness and a strong woman. Now that it over though, I can't wait to see what adventures are next.

I have said before and I will say again that I am in love with Summer Lane's version of the apocalypse.
It has been an interesting journey following Elle and Bravo on their quest to find the militia's and her Uncle. It's even more interesting knowing that this is really only the beginning for the 2 of them.
I said before that I think Elle Costas is a more realistic version of someone you might find surviving the apocalypse than her counter part Cassidy Hart. Elle sort of got luck a lot along the way and finding Bravo was one of if not the luckiest of those lucky things that happened to keep her alive.
I am now even more desperate to pick up State of Destruction and figure out the big picture behind Omega's terror.

A compelling survival story about a girl and her dog in search of safety and belonging in a post-apocalyptic world. Elle is a believable protagonist who quickly engages the reader and carries them along on her journey through a dark and dangerous landscape. While it is somewhat predictable, the plot is steadily paced and Elle's world and relationships are well drawn. Although this book is the intended conclusion of a series, it is a fully developed and satisfying stand alone read - a best fit for young teen readers (ages 12-14), but will also appeal to older YA and adult fans of dystopian and post-apocalyptic fiction.

Amazing heroism for survival!!!

After reading The Zero Trilogy series, this would be an awesome movie. The first thing that I was so astonished with was Elle's inability to not give up. She started the ball rolling and the characters to follow were drawing me to read as fast as I could because I couldn't put these books done. Very suspenseful to the last page. AWESOME

Inconsistent

Many inconsistencies. Very short. This "trilogy" could have been one book. The characters were hastily developed and lacked depth. There were also typos, poor editing.
