Kota Lee has been trying for weeks to get the girl up the street to notice him. She's beautiful and intriguing, but seems incredibly shy. Too shy. Every time he tries to get close, she dodges him, like a skittish little bird, flittering away out of his reach.

Troubled by her haunted looks, he's tried to give her some space, respect her need for solitude. Still, he can't forget those eyes that are haunted and—he thinks—maybe hiding secrets.

One dark night as thunderclouds are rolling in, he's driving home late and spots her standing in the road. It's too late for her to be out for a walk and the pack on her back tells him what she's doing: she's about to run away.

She could get hurt, or worse, disappear forever. He can't let her go; he'd never forgive himself if he did.

Well this was a pleasant surprise! Every now and then I wish for a new dose of these Academy guys, so I was stoked to see this short story existed. Even better was the fact it was in Kota's POV - I love reading things from the guys POV (even if they're only short!). Please keep em coming, C.L. Stone.

I cannot believe I haven't read these novellas yet. But I guess it is also a good thing, because this way I can "hang out" with the characters while waiting for the next book in the series to come out.
And it was interesting to see the same events happening from a different perspective. I was just remembering how apologetic Kota was about Max jumping on Sang. If only she new the truth back then, right? It could've changed everything.
But anyway, I am quite enjoying these little throwbacks to the past.

I have gotten very into reading Reverse Harem novels lately becasue of this series. It's super hard to find decent ones that don't just read like fan fiction and this series is quite good actually. This series is really good though, it is slow to develop but that allows for more books in the series which is a good thing. Both the characters and the story are fully fleshed out and well written. I'm enjoying becoming invested in this world and pleased that I discovered this author.

I enjoyed this novella. I liked getting a deeper look into Kota and what he is like. We rarely get chapters in the ~A~ section in his point of view. This novella showed how much of a sweetheart he is and how much he was willing to do to help Sang even though he didn’t really know her. After reading it, I just wish we got more chapters in Kota’s point of view more often.

Kota is not my favorite guy. I had also hoped this shortstory would be more... personalized. Instead it seemed pretty generic. Like this could be just about any guy going all ga-ga over a pretty girl.

Honestly, you have to be an addict to read the POV shifts that re-hash the boys' first meeting of Sang. Or a masochist. Or both.

But I guess I am, because I kinda loved 'em. *sigh* So disappointed with myself.

It was cute. I love Kota and his dorky-ness. And I’ve missed Sang. I wish it had gone further then the first meeting though. I wanted to see him falling for her and while this book explains some of that, it only talks about the very beginning.
