"Werewolves are real but the legends are wrong..."
It's the secret Gillian's father has tried to keep from her and the reason he's so overprotective. But, he goes too far when he exiles Gillian to a house in the middle of nowhere. Her new landlord, Racer, is more like a cute jailer who has strict orders to keep her safely trapped.
Battle lines between independence and obligation are drawn as Gillian decides just how far she's willing to go to win back her freedom. And Racer needs to decide what he's willing to endure to keep her close.
I love to write! Sharing the worlds I've created is beyond amazing . Want to read a book for free? Check out my website at: http://melissahaag.com/free-ebook/
Wait, what? This novella could have easily gotten 4 stars 🌟 had it not been for the abrupt ending. I feel cheated. The story started out great. No insta love which I am a fan of. You can definitely see the chemistry between Gillian and Racer. I loved Gillian sassy personality. Then that Chuck guy appeared out of thin air and attempted to kidnap her all while Racer was in his apartment downstairs. Gillian even tried fighting her kidnapper and they were not quiet. Where the hell was Racer when they were making a ruckus. I know for a fact Racer has super sensitive hearing because he always seem to know what Gillian was up to. She couldn’t escaped the property if she tried. Yet when Chuck made his appearance act, Racer was miraculously absent. Hell, he should have smelled the little weasel 10 miles away. I just find it hard to believe that after all that time spent being Gillian’s shadow, he couldn’t come to her rescue before she got sexually assaulted. And then, AND THEN, her dad didn’t have a problem with her shacking up with a werewolf. It was no secret that her dad was overprotective of her and he went to great lengths to hide her in a secluded location from her stalker, and refused to tell her about her mother’s werewolf side of the family and literally gets a heart attack whenever she’s slightly interested in the opposite sex, YET he’s ok with her shacking up with Racer the werewolf. WHAT!!!! Unbelievable. Holes in the plot man.
This was such a cute story! I loved how feisty Gillian was. But I sure felt bad for poor Racer! The only problem with this short story is that I wanted more!
6 Stars! "Moved", has humans & werewolves, is totally hilarious, & the female character, Gillian, is so perfect. I love leading lady type characters like this!! I loved this story, I've read "Moved" so many times now, I've lost track of the number. I would love to see an expanded version of "Moved", or even a male's (Racer's) point of view since he's the hunky strong silent type werewolf similar to another werewolf character (Clay) from Melissa Haag's series "Judgement of the Six" & would love to know some of his thoughts thru the story. Definitely reccomend this book.
My Star Rating defined: 1 Star = DNF. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, this is MY opinion. 2 Stars = Finished, but didn’t really enjoy, was at least able to finish the book. 3 Stars = Story was neither good nor bad, no interest in continuing with series. 3.5 Stars = Finished. Story was good enough to probably pick up next in series. 4 Stars = Enjoyed the story & will continue with the series. 4.5 Stars = Loved it, but some little something was off, will continue with the series. 5 Stars = Absolutely loved it, will continue with series & would highly recommend to others! 6 Stars = Stole my heart! Add to favorites & definitely re-read!
Gah! Why is this a short story?! I want SO MUCH MORE from this world! I absolutely loved this novella. Even though the author tells a complete story with no cliffhanger, I wanted to know more about the couple once the book was finished. This author did an amazing job of hooking you in a short period. If you need a break from the world, but don't have the time to devote to a full book, this is definitely the book for you.
A book about a 18 years old girl whose life changes the moment her father recognizes that she´s being followed. Protecting her is her fathers top priority. Hiding from the world isn´t hers though. And being kept in the dark, being bored and living next to a guy who has his eyes and ears everywhere has her getting frustrated more and more. That´s when she get´s an idea which will change everythingg.
Secrets and threats are all around. What happens when everything will be revealed? What happens when your nightmare comes closer to you than you had expected? And what happens when your prison becomes your home because of him?
My Opinion:
I´m really surprised. To be honest- I´m usually not a fan of short reads but this one was really good. I enjoyed reading it. The characters were likeable and funny. The pace was fine. The writing style- loved it. Wouldn´t have minded if the book would have been longer. Wouldn´t mind to read more of those characters as well.
I haven´t read a paranormal story/ fantasy in quite a while. Well... I wouldn´t say it´s paranormal. I´d say it´s rather fantasy. But until the end there wasn´t really signs of the story being a fantasy. And the part with the werewolves and the tiny part with the backgroundstory... it was short. Almost nonexistent although still important to the story.
Gillian- Loved how she came up with the plan to annoy the hell out of Racer. Everything she did- funny. Had to smile and grin quite often. Racer was awesome too.
Like I already said. I´d love to read more about those characters. Maybe one day there will be another book with them. Maybe it will be even a bit longer.
It was my first book by Melissa Haag and I suppose not my last as I really enjoyed her writing style. :)
This book was more of love/hate relationship satire than about werewolves. If you are looking for something with depth, suspense, and or adventure look elsewhere. I had read Hopeless and characters are pretty much the same with a werewolf who doesn't give the lead character space. On the upside it was well written.
I read this a while back, could not believe that I haven't rated it. I love Melissa 's writing. With that being said. Werewolves! Yes plz. Good read. I would have liked a little more into what happens next with the couple, but it ended good.
I have to admit it wasn’t my favorite of all her books. It took a while to get started and I think it needed more to the storyline. But I have it 5 stars because no book has ever caused me to laugh so hard before. “Come back to bed baby”
Another good werewolf story by Melissa Haag. Gillian is absolutely adorable in her quest to keep her sanity in the imposed seclusion. Racer really has no idea what he's dealing with. My only complaint, I would have liked the story to be longer.
Stalkers, a family secret, romance and intrigue. All elements making this story. Gillian is left protected by a complete stranger. Good story development for a short novel.
Enjoyable beach read. Not a lot of depth, but still enjoyable. Just enough to keep you interested in the main characters, but not enough to answer your many questions.
Moved begins when Gillian goes home to see her dad for a while. She's known the secrets about her mother for a while now, but she doesn't want her dad to know she knows. However, when some guy starts to follow her around her dad ends up sending her off to the middle of no where witha friend of his named Racer who wants nothing to do with Gillian being there.
However, as Gillian tries to figure out how to handle the life of seclusion she and Racer start to form a bond. But neither one is sure if it is a good idea. Until she realizes the truth about him even though he doesn't know it.
This was a short story that turned out very nicely. It had a very interesting plot line with some funny moments and a dash of suspense as well. I wish there had been a little bit more to the werewolf aspect of it, but it was very enjoyable and I liked it.
Very quick read. In true Melissa Haag fashion, the story pulls you in. There are several times I laughed out loud and other moments that caused my heart to race. I like how it all came together in the end. Thanks to the other reviewer, I found this short on wattpad.com. I cannot wait to read more from this auhor.
This is a great little novella by Melissa the characters are charming and there are lots of funny moments. The story is quite straight forward and I think it could have been stretched to a full size novel to add more depth but I'd recommend it to a friend.
