I received a free advance ARC of the 'War of Thieves Box Set' from Ernest Dempsey for my honest review and I also purchased it.
I totally enjoyed this one, basically it's good verse evil, liked that it's about lost artwork from WWII, just didn't want it to end and really liked master thief Adriana Villa.
Basically Two Billionaire colleagues, who are part of a group of rich men called the syndicate and make a hundred million wager on three lost pieces of art.
The artwork went missing during World War 2, plenty of people have previously looked for them, following every possible lead, never finding them and many believed that they would never be found.
Frank Shaw and Stefan Martens would each pick a thief, they could not intervene in the competition and both used drastically different methods to pick their thief.
Martens picks Adriana Villa 'the good thief', by kidnapping her father Diego Villa and forces her to compete by threating to kill her only living relative and if she successes in the competition he'll be set free.
Villa is a master thief, who refers to herself as a recovery agent, she's tough, lethal thanks to her dad, misses no detail and someone that you'd want as a friend verse an enemy.
She specializes in a very niche market of stolen artwork but she only steals back pieces that have been stolen from it's original owner and returns it to them or in most cases their estates.
The stakes in the contest are higher for her. While she'll be compensated monetarily, her father's life is in her hands and she has the added pressure not to fail.
Shaw picks his underling Allyson Webster 'the bad thief', someone he plucked off of the streets at a young age and mentored her into his own lethal weapon.
She's been dubbed by the Authorizes as, 'The Chameleon', since no one knows her name, she's believed to be an American, don't trust her and down right evil, due to killing anyone that gets in her way during a job.
Shaw offers her 15 Million per piece of artwork, she brings back to him or proof of it's destruction, she can walk away with 55 Million in the end and also being watched by one of his other underlings Evan. Plus he has no problem intervening to win the competition.
Adriana and Allyson will have five days to find, then steal the painting and are given clues to finding each piece of artwork. Each piece was lost during World War II.
The first piece for the two to find is the Bellini, also referred to as the Madonna and Child and painted by Giovanni Bellini. The painting went missing near the end of WWII, believed to be taken by Russian Soldiers.
The second painting was 'the Annunciation', painted by Peter Paul Rubens, lost at the beginning of WWII and believed to have been taken by a Nazi Officer.
The third painting was a Rembrandt, titled 'An Angel With Titus features', which was taken by the Nazi's during WWII and was one of 300 pieces of art taken to Paris to be in Hitler's Museum.
I'm not going to get any further in the story. Although the two thief's do have an alliances by the time this competition, they defy the odds and two people pay the ultimate price in the end.
'War of Thieves' has everything I like in a book, full of twist and turns, fly by the seat of your pants reading, realistic, credible, imagination, and fast paced.
I do have to say that the author did an amazing job with this book. Creating a realistic, credible conclusions to finding three pieces of artwork, that are in the top-10 for pieces of artwork lost or stolen during WWII.
I highly recommend this one, Ernest Dempsey's one of my favorite authors and can't wait for the next adventure with Adriana Villa.

To complicate matters she is racing against another Thief if she fails her Father dies if she succeeds her Father lives. Adriana is forced to use her wits to unravel mysterious clues she also will have to use her underworld connections and her fighting skills because a Reckless Villian who has her own reasons for finding the paintings... millions of them to be exact will stop at nothing to get them before Adriana . The war of thieves boxed set is a fantastic read for a great price you get all three books in the trilogy The Mexican connection, War of Thieves and the syndicate. I look forward to reading more books by Ernest Dempsey

I received a free Beta copy of ‘War of Thieves Box Set’ from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is an amazing book, full of action and suspense, a real thrill ride. I'm so happy the author decided to release this book as a box set as I think I would have been on pins and needles waiting for the release of each installment. I love the historical aspect focusing on the recovery of stolen art from WW II and how each installment leads into the next. I like the way the author winds up all the loose ends in ‘The Syndicate’ and the surprise ending. Will be anxiously waiting to read more about both Adriana and Allyson in the future.

Action Packed Adventures , So Hard To Put Down!
This was a special treat for me from Mr. Dempsey WHO always manages to educate the reader about classical artists AND their works in addition to providnihg factual and historical informatikom on the cities the protagonists travel to in search for lost pričest od art. I definitely would recommend reading these three volumnes to escape the daily noise of Television and the dailey News oif our Crazy AND complicated world. —David G Bazan

Fast moving drama, even if Allyson didn't think so, double crossing, scary moments, unbelievable moments, ingenious moments. Two thieves sent out by two multi-millionaires to settle a bet find 3 specific paintings lost during WW II. One for the money. The other to rescue her father. With a twist in plans for the recovery of the paintings, the multi-millionaires and a surprise ending -- great storyline. Thank you.

Wonderful
A wonderful trilogy in which two contrasting yet similar skilled hunters pursue valuable art works. The stories are well plotted with some quite unexpected developments along the way - people are killed, the guilty and the innocent and the main characters progress through some great places at top speed and the ending came as something most rewarding

Wow! Great book, and perfect ending.
Once again there was non-stop action and adventure. Adrianna is a terrific heroine. It was nice to learn more about her and her family. The character development is really good. The plot was very interesting. Nice job Mr Dempsey.

Wonderful books, lots of action, lots of characters (some simply despicable) - I just wish I could have read the books all in the same day, but that would be doing a disservice to the author. Looking forward to more books with Adriana Villa.

A thrill every minute. A quixotic war between good and evil. Does good overcome evil? Or does evil succumb to good? I must admit I didn't see the end of this coming... Or is it just another beginning? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Another great read from Mr. Dempsey
An awesome storyline featuring Adrianna Villa, who is my hero!! Truly enjoyed how she was able to retrieve priceless, lost art. And the last few pages??? I won't spoil it, but bravo Ernest, did not see that coming!!!!

Extremely enjoyable, fantastic characters and plot.
I just came across the War of Thieves Trilogy and could not stop reading.
What an amazing set of characters and an even better plot line.

Adriana is a great character!
I like Adriana almost as much as I like Sean! These books are a great companion to the Sean Wyatt series. Can't wait to see what else Ernest Dempsey has in the works.

Very Bloody
I usually like to read all of an author's books, then move on. Although I love Adriana, Sean, Tommy, and the "kids," I am just really tired of all the over-the-top bloodshed. I enjoy a bit of an action story, but it's blood, blood, and more blood.

Excellent action packed set with a different character focus. My only reservation was the hope that with the change, we would have a little less blood. Not the case.
