Did you ever want to play in a campaign where your characters were all members of a rock band???
I mean, I never did really, and my initial impression was that the concept was rather ridiculous, but, one can not deny that music and it's effects on people is a huge part of the Robotech story. From Lynn Minmei, Musica, and Yellow Dancer in Robotech, to Sharon Apple in Macross Plus, Silvie Gina and Ishtar in Macross II...and whatever was going on in Macross 7...music is kind of the heart of the Robotech/Macross story (including "Do You Remember Love").
This supplement is one story that takes the players from New Detroit to the coast of California to oppose a new joint Invid/Soviet effort to wipe out the resistance, and it's not half-bad...as long as you don't really think about the fact that the characters will be using weaponized instruments, "instrumecha", for most of it.
Honestly, this book fleshes out the world of the Invid Invasion era far better than "Return of the Masters" did. There's a small section on how music evolved throughout the various Robotech eras (the 2030s were big into "Soviet Rock" - whatever that is). And, as far as world-building goes, it would seem that once the Invid are dealt with again, for this takes part in the Second Invasion idea proposed in the RPG, there will be a substantial Soviet presence in both North and South America that a future rebirth of the United Earth Government may have to deal with.
