An audacious and desperately needed primer on how America’s Ruling Class have upended the Constitution and taken over our country—and how we must unite to regain control of our liberty.
A Ruling Class have emerged in America against the hopes and designs of our Founding Fathers. Over the last hundred years, they have rejected the Constitution and expanded their own power, slowly at first and now rapidly. These people believe their actions are justified because they think they are smarter than the rest of us—so smart they can run our lives better than we can.
But for all the power and resources at their command, they have failed. Miserably. Society has become increasingly unequal, even as we’re promised “equality.” Our government finances are out of control, our basic infrastructure is broken, and education is unaffordable and mediocre. And yet the Ruling Class think the solution is for us to grant them ever more control.
We can stop this—but to do so we must unite. In Conspiracies of the Ruling Class , Lawrence Lindsey lays out his plan for how we can use common sense to change the way our country is run. Finally, here is the truth from a Washington insider about how to reawaken the spirit upon which America was founded, with liberty for every person to pursue his or her own dreams.
A good read. More people ought to understand what's being done behind their backs to manipulate and control them. Supposedly, there's a way to stop it in the last section of the book. I think the suggestions are great, but never going to happen. Sad, but America is lost. Very, very few are willing and able to fight the system, no matter how sick and corrupt it is.
This is a 300 page money grab, meant to be peddled on Fox News after midnight. I love principled conservative writing, but Lindsey is a poor writer and has little to say about an actual ruling class.
I borrowed this from the library and am glad I didn't pay for it. By the title, I sort of expected it to be about politicians and rich people with influence using lobbies and business power. I was wrong. This book was written at the end of Obama's administration and is a big tirade on how bad the democrats are compared to the republicans. The author was involved with the administration of 3 republican presidents and believes in the trickle down Regan-omics and possibly a flat tax where everyone is taxed equally. He thinks that republicans are generous and would give money to those in need, but doesn't think that people should be offered healthcare. The book should be called, "Why Democrates are Wrong." The author argued for a change in the leadership of the country. Based on his goals, electing Trump would have fit his agenda. Maybe he realizes how wrong he was!
The reason I gave this book more than one star is because there is some good information on the federal reserve near the end of the book and I found a few chapters about the costs of labor, self interests and the way the government makes decisions about money informative. Based on what I read, I can see that the current budget approval process is flawed and lacks accountability.
This book is an eye opener. As a common person who just rambles along through life handling things as they arise, I really never paid that much attention to politicis and the 'ruling class' until this election cycle and certain of the issues covered in this book were brought to the fore At once I felt depressed about the whole situation as I could not understand how a 66-year old retiree could possibly make a difference -- Help make a change for the better to regain our 'liberty'. I really like how this writer framed the various problems our country faces. He explains how they came about, why the problem persists, and what we can do about it. There is no time more apprpriate to act than right now during this current election cycle. Unforunately, in my opinion the pickings are slim. In the end it seemed education of the public at large is the best way to bring this up for discussion. Very informative and enjoyable book.
Not just a must read, but a read and do. His ideas and the format in which he lays them out is easy to follow and understand. Now I challenge all of you who have read this book to take action and get our country back on track.
There may be something to the idea of a populist revolt against the ruling elite but this book lacked any real analysis of that theory on a nonpartisan basis. Lindsey is particularly illsuited to that role.
