Praise for 2:20, Book One of the Timeless
"2:20 was awesome from page 1. The mystery of where—or rather when—Julia comes from kept me glued to the page. Once that’s revealed, it’s game on to try and change her fate. I’m impressed with any author that can take on something as complicated as time travel and have it make sense in the end. Holly Hook did so wonderfully." --Amazon Reviewer
Seventeen year old Julia just learned that she's in the wrong time. With no memory of where she's from, she must escape the Timeless, a group bent on sending her back home. But home is danger, says mysterious Simon, the hot new guy at school. Home is death. Julia must grow closer to Simon to unravel the truth about where she's from--but doing may be her end.
The story continues and concludes in 11:39 and 1500, the second and third books of the Timeless Trilogy.
Holly Hook is the author of the Destroyers Series, which consists of five young adult books about teens who are walking disasters...literally. She is also the author of the Rita Morse series, a young adult fantasy series still in progress, and After These Messages, a short ya comedy. Currently she is writing Twisted, a spin-off of the Destroyers Series due out in December. When not writing, she enjoys reading books for teens, especially ya fantasy and paranormal series with a unique twist.
I’ve devoured Holly Hook’s other series like a dragon at a buffet, but the Timeless Trilogy didn’t quite hit the same binge-worthy stride. It’s still a solid read—clever, magical, and full of Hook’s signature twists—but it didn’t pull me in as effortlessly as Destroyers or Supernaturals Underground.
The time travel mechanic is cool but brain-bendy: every jump wipes your memory, which means the characters (and sometimes the reader) are constantly playing catch-up. It’s a clever twist, but it made the story harder to follow and a bit less immersive.
Simon and Julia’s romance? Sweet, subtle, and delightfully messy. They manage to botch timelines, derail missions, and still make you root for them. Watching them try to fix everything while half-remembering who they are is like watching two cinnamon rolls attempt quantum physics with a love letter and duct tape.
Overall: 4 stars. It’s good. It’s clever. It’s just not quite as bingeable as Hook’s other series. But if you like magical chaos, memory-wipe drama, and romance that tangles the space-time continuum, this one’s worth the ride.
2:20 Book one in this series has more twist and turns than you can throw a rock at but it works. Holly is the queen of twist as she takes you on this time travel mind boggling adventure. Time, Love, Family and loss of memory make this journey memorable. Can't wait to see what adventures are next for these two as they seek to outdo time!
1139 - I have really enjoyed the Timeless Saga. This has been a thrilling ride getting to know these four travelers as they go thru their own personal battles with the position they are in. It doesn't help that for their own reasons they want to change the path guarded by Time itself. It is great getting more invested in the characters and not being able to put the book down. A wild train ride with lots of twists and turns.
1500 - Just when you thought Ms Hook couldn't do anything else to stretch the imagination here she comes with this 3rd book of the series. This book had EVERYTHING! Excitement, intrigue, love and pain! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Great ending to a mind blowing Trilogy!
This 3 books set was THE best paranormal stories that I have read in a long time. The excitement and mystery was so invigorating. I read all 3 books in one day. I just could not put it down. Thank you Holly you made my day.
This was a very thought provoking trilogy! I loved it very much. I had a hard time putting it down. I have not read any of her books before but I definitely will be reading her other books now!Thank you Holly for a great Trilogy!!!
This book has its ups and downs. Sometimes the action is so good that you cannot put the book down but the rest of the time it's just average. I also wondered one or twice why the main character is so freaking stupid! The end however is really good. I didn't expect that and was very happy about it! One thing that I found very annoying is that throughout the book you can see many (many!) mistakes, either typo or wrong tense and others. Hasn't anyone read the book before publishing it? Overall I enjoyed the book even though these typos took away something...
