I really liked this because it's what people actually said. Moose really picked interesting people to talk to. I wasn't aware that them Hare Krishnas were super sexist. As I read this guy's words: "a woman's place is at home taking care of the kids, her place is behind a man" I was like, been there heard that from non Hare Krishnas. It actually reminded me of SN Goenka's (one of the famed vipassana meditation teachers) segregation of the sexes during meditation. These men just can't stop blaming women for their own inappropriate desire for women, LOL. I also really liked what this woman said "If you dehumanize people enough, they will become subhuman in their behavior". She said this when she'd heard this politician from Arizona said he was against abortion because of his religion but it would be so horrid to be raped by a black guy he would allow it just for that, no abortion for rape by a white guy cuz that isn't so horrid I guess? man... this is in the 80's still... So, I'm happy I got to read this book.
