I believed in sex, once upon a time. And passion. But now my life as a single, divorced career girl living alone in New York City was all about work. I hadn't had a date in years.

But then he came along . . . Alexandre Chevalier. The French CEO billionaire of HookedUp, the social media phenomenon that had taken the world by storm.
He was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen, and with eyes so green they seared into my soul.
Like a flash of lighting he struck me down . . . his touch was electric, and I knew my life was irrevocably changed. I'd never be the same again.

He awakened every fiber of my being, ignited every cell in my body.
And just when I thought things couldn't be more perfect . . .
It all came crashing down.
*
*
I'd had it with all the crazy women in my life: the models, the movie stars, even my power-hungry sister and business partner. If you'd had a past like mine, you'd understand.
I just wanted a normal relationship with a normal woman . . .

And then I met her . . . Pearl Robinson.
She was perfect for me.
Or so I thought.
But I was in for a shocking surprise when I found out the truth . . .
Of who she really was.

☆ I received an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!! ☆

This is just what I've been waiting for. As soon as Arianne messaged me that this baby was on my kindle I jumped for joy! I'm such a fan girl!

For those who are major fans of Pearl, this is your cup of tea. It was everything I could have wished for and a little more. Some things I'd always wondered was answered.

There's no new plot developments or surprises, but, it does give you more of a behind the scenes type of feel to both main characters throughout the Peal Saga and what went down.

Over all, I LOVED IT. I can't wait for bk2!

**Received an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review**

I don't normally re-read books but this one really picked my interest especially since we got dual POV. I loved having the chance to get to read what Alexander was thinking and saying as opposed to just getting Pearl's POV.

What intrigued me in the first place about this book was the fact that a young CEO falls hard for an older woman, and I mean 15 years older is definitely OLDER. Getting to experience a relationship between a young man and an older woman is a ride worth reading. Especially when this young CEO has a sister who likes to give him hell especially about him loving an older woman.

Why an older woman? You would have to read to find out ;)

The whole alpha thing that Alexander has going is really a freaking turn-on and I loved having the chance to get to read this book again. I'm anxiously awaiting for the 2nd part to come out now because this first book will definitely leave you wanting to read more.

Definitely worth 5 stars!!

I wasn't sure as to what to expect with this story, but holy hell Batman, I'm freakin hooked! Pearl Robinson is a successful, divorced woman living in New York. She's used to believe in passion, but now she's all about her career. That is until she met Alexandre Chevalier, the French Billionaire CEO of Hooked Up. He's the most beautiful man she's ever seen, but he's much younger than she is. They have an instant strong connection, and he starts to take her on a beautiful journey. Alexandre has had it with all the crazy women in his life. He desires a normal relationship with a normal woman, and he thought he was starting that with Pearl, until he finds out the truth of who she is. Will he be able to get past the fact that she never let him know her true identity?

I'm completely addicted, and LOVED LOVED LOVED Hooked Up! The character development is fabulous, with a sexy, and well written story line that flows effortlessly. Chemistry between the characters sparked out of my kindle, and led to frustrating teasing, and finally SMOKIN' HOT sexy scenes. Arianne Richmonde is diabolical with pulling out the rug from under me with her twists and turns, and kept my heart pounding cover to cover. I cannot forget the the cliff hanger ending that set me off, and she's been added to the list of authors trying to kill me. Not sure how patiently I'll be able to wait for the next story, as I CANNOT WAIT for it to come out. I will end with this, even though I'm calling the author bad names for trying to kill me, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Got this one free on Amazon, and it’s so good I’m now having to buy the next one in the trilogy to see how things work out for Alexandre and Pearl.
Told in first person POV alternating between both main characters, the sex scenes are hot, and Alexandre totally yummy – maybe too good to be true? I’ll have to find out.
A fifteen year age gap between the H & h – she’s the older one – provides a point of difference to the billionaire romance scenario. He may be only twenty-five, but he’s still all alpha male and dominant, with a small ‘d’, nothing more than light bondage, though wise beyond his years in the ways of pleasing a woman, and Pearl, with her limited and previously disappointing experience, is more naïve and innocent than her forty years. The only thing that did grate a little was that she also seems to lack the emotional maturity that might be expected for her age, but overall – interesting and well-written enough that I’m parting with hard cash to read on!

This was one of the most annoying novels I have ever attempted to read! It would have been a great piece of erotica had the author not chosen to instantly replay every scene from the second point of view, effectively slowing down the entire plot and making it unnecessarily redundant. At about the 60% point, I simply couldn't take it anymore. What a shame. I really was enjoying the love story, but the writing style selected was like dragging chalk across a blackboard slowly. Ugggghhhhh!!!!!

This is my first book I read from Arianne and it won't be my last. I love having Pearl & Alexandre together. The chemistry is there and you can feel it as you read their story. Finally having a meaningful relationship after being a player for so long can Alexandre finally be with me woman and be content? Has he found love in Pearl, but when he founds something about her will it all come crashing down? I can't wait to read book 2 and see what will happen

Silly, inconsistent

Ugh, juvenile, inconsistent several times.. Such as, Pearl was swimming, but when Alex called she had on work clothes. When they were in the coffee shop, she had on tennis shoes, but when she stood, she described her wobbly legs from having on stilettos. And most of the time I skimmed. Not that great.

First off, this was WAY smuttier than i anticipated but the build up was very good and so was the writing tbh. The *scenes* were hella graphic... BEWARE. The ending... BOY let me just tell you, I never thought that would happen.

I think this kind of got me out of my reading slump but im honestly not sure? lmao
Also, idk if I'll read the sequal. We shall see.

Frustrating

I guess what turned me off the most was it was very repetious. One chapter would be his thoughts and next chapter, word for word would be hers. Repeating again and again. Very annoying.

Did not enjoy a repeat of everything so they could go from each point of view. Also did not like that it continues in the next book.

This next book made me believe that age isn’t nothing but number. This book is a series and I don’t know if I even want to read it. The book of the week is Hooked Up by Arianne Richmonde.
This book is basically about an older woman named Pearl Robinson who has just given up on love or even looking for it. But oh she doesn’t see this man coming. Alexandre Chevalier is a young man who is billionaire of a social media phenomenon called Hooked Up. I got to tell you this almost sounded fifty shades to me just with this twist.
Alexandre starts to pursue her and you see her really trying to push him away at first but then she starts to warm up to him and then it starts to get steamy. She ends up opening to him about everything except this one thing and that is where I had a problem with this read.
So, this book is I think a three-part book and honestly it should have been two because the secret that she had to me didn’t feel like a secret that should have broken them up. I mean yes she was at the convention looking for a story on him, but after she found out that she wouldn’t get it, she gave up. He showed up into her life right after and I mean I don’t get why this was huge deal because the whole time she was with him she wasn’t thinking about no dang story and I would have done the same thing not bring it up if it was irrelevant. If she was lowkey pursuing the story while with him then that would have made sense to me.
It’s kind of the reason why I don’t want to read the series because I feel like the fight and the separation should have had a better reason. And I know that once she explains that to him than he is just going to feel foolish. Or she is going to ignore him for being foolish I just know the book is going to sound something like that. I just wanted the reason to be bigger and I just don’t think that is good enough reason and he just leaves with getting explanation from her just rude. Till next Tuesday bye guys.

Pearl is a 40 year old divorcee who is very career oriented and lies her way into the lives of the Hooked Up CEOs.Alexandre is 25 and a French billionaire. He wants a normal relationship with a normal woman because past relationships have not been kind to him.
The only thing that turned me off the most was it was very repetitious. The chemistry is just out there and you can feel it as you read Pearl and Alexandre's story. The character development is so good. The plot was not exactly cliche but predictable. It was still a lovely read.A fifteen year age gap between Pearl and Alexandre was hard to grasp at first not because she’s the older one or that he is the billionaire its because He was still the dominant one.And then there is that cliffhanger ending.

I would have given this a 4 star...but unfortunately the author wasn't very good at writing from the characters POV. I can't stand when they try to write like that, but don't get conversation right from one character to the next. It drove me insane reading this. And to boot, it was a cliffhanger...can't stand them...I will not be finishing this series, although I wanted to see how things worked out with these two characters.

Awesome

Pearl and Alexandre hmmmm where to start. I really loved this from start to finish and can't wait to read the second book to see what happens. The boom is written in duel perspective and that is what makes it even better as you really get to know both characters very well. Pear? Is a 40 year old divorcee who is shall we say lacking experience in the big O. Alexandre is 25 and a very savvy French business man. In don't want to go into the story as I could rave on about all sorts and spoil it and that's not what I want to do. The end in of this book made me gasp in shock as I was really not expecting the cliffhanger but the great thing is book 2 is already out so let's get reading.

I was a bit cautious as I was reading this re-told, dual POV version of Shades of Pearl. Having Alexandre's POV allowed me to know things that only he would know, and Pearl might not yet have found out. I felt as if I were in on the secret. I found myself laughing out loud at some scenes, highlighting others, and swooning a bit at the very sexy scenes.

I liked getting to know the insecure, 40 y/o American divorcee, Pearl, as she fibs her way to meeting Alexandre and his sister, Sophie, at the cafe. She does some immature things, but she is endearing. I can appreciate her confusion, self-deception, and desire for Alexandre. His thoughts about her and his seduction of her had me both amused and very interested. He's both naughty and mature for his age.

His tests, the official date, and then the gifts... Ah! Alexandre knows how to treat a woman well. But there is also more to him and his past. Bits and pieces are teased out with us knowing a bit more than Pearl. What really happened with his family? How did Hooked Up really get started?

This is more than just a hot, sexy romance. It is a story with layers, secrets, and two people who are wary of trusting anyone, much less falling in love. They second guess themselves and each other. They fit perfectly and awkwardly. And then there is that cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to reading book 2! And I really like Hooked Up as the title. It fits.

I enjoyed the Pearl series, which included Alexandre's POV in books 4 & 5. With this re-telling of the series with both Pearl's and Alexandre's POV, I found it to be a bit slower in the beginning. It took me a bit to get used to going back and forth. As the story continued, I found myself looking forward to getting both sides of the story. The different interpretations and even musings behind their actions made it seem a bit more real and feasible. Also, they each remembered the dialog differently, just like in reality, where what you think the other person said might not be accurate.

Note: I received an ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Caught Up In A Cliffhanger

Hooked Up is supposed to be book one in a series. Books in series are usually standalone books and don't end in a cliffhanger. This boo is not standalone and it ends in a cliffhanger.

It's told from a dual POV - Pearl's and Alexandre's. This is not a well written dual POV. Pearl is a 40 something year old who meets 25 year old billionaire Alexandre, accidental on purpose. Pearl is a immature, insecure woman for her age and we aren't told why. From the moment she meets Alexandre, she's deceitful about who she is when she has no reason to be. Alexandre is immediately attracted to her. He first thinks it's lust as usual. He determines very shortly that's it's more than lust. Even though Pearl isn't open and honest with Alexandre, she's extremely jealous.

The book goes from Pearl thoughts to Alexandre's thoughts. Pearl becomes more and more dislikeable while Alexandre grows on you as he tries to put his sexual affairs in order because he acknowledges his feelings for Pearl. Pearl is is more and more insecure and dishonest with no intention of telling Alexandre the truth.

Of course , Alexandre's older sister and business manager, Sophie, investigate Pearl and finds out how deceitful she is. The book ends abruptly on a cliffhanger. I had read reviews that stated the book ended in a cliffhanger. I've read series where reviewers said the book ended in a cliffhanger, when in fact it did not. This book does.

Still since I'm intrigued by Alexandre, I bought the next book. If this book ends as abruptly, I may not
care enough to purchase the last book.

This saddens me greatly ...

But I feel that three stars are generous, why, one when I bought this novel, it was supposed to be all the books of the story. Instead I was lead into a cliff, and there was no hanger, just slam, the two main characters are at the everything is wonderful stage, then boom, all is over.
For more money, I can buy the next part of what promised to be a riveting novel set, oxymoronic.
Disappointed in the author, who is new to me, I took a chance.
I felt lead on, as I try very hard to avoid these types of traps. This story is entrapping, you believe it is a novel that ends, whether HEA, or not happily and life goes on...
The authors characters began wonderfully, but as I got closer to the end, Alexandre seems more immature than worldly as he made us feel originally, and Pearl incredibly needly, as if a teenager.
I loved the premise of the story, and the reviews were good, yet felt let down as if all the hype, was like the trailers of a movie, the best it had to offer.

I am sorry Ms. Richmond's, I cannot recommend.

Leaves you clueless that it is continuing, the secondary character Sophie, to typical, protective of her self interests, and controlling, prejudiced, and generalizing, atypical wicked stepmother character almost.

Two stars, is fair.

Read Like the Movie Groundhog Day

I realize the author was doing a rewrite of this story but I felt it was a waste of paper. Every part of the story including some lines were repeated in the next chapter. The characters are shallow and did not grow at all. Plus being a mom of a 22 year old it is very difficult to believe a 25 year old man would have anything to offer a 40 year old woman other than multiple romps in bed. I am sure that Pearl doesn't play video games in her spare time. But she is a liar now isn't she. And then there is Alex who only thinks with his penis and frankly that is all he can really offer Pearl. I am glad I didn't waste money on this. I will not be reading any more of the series.

Coyer Summer Bash

This is the meeting of a younger man( a bilionaire of course) and a recently divorced 40 year old divorcee named Pearl Robinson(yes they went there) Pearl is trying to get an interview with the billionaire and ends up in a relationship with him. It's a formulastic story and I really couldnt get into either character.

This was a free romance book on Amazon...so my hopes weren’t high. The two main characters have a genuine interest in each other from start to finish, and the writer brings them to life as 3 dimensial characters. A good, short book that’s well written and more mature than many romance themed books.

This novel was entertaining but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be the protagonist acted a lot younger than her age and there wasn't really any plot. The relationship between her and her love interest moves way too fast. She is way to invested in a man she has known for a few weeks.

this is a re-write of book 1 from both pov's. there is more detail, and a LOT of repetition, but my opinion is that if you didn't think to put it in the original, why make me read the book again to read the edits. i hope this doesn't become a trend.
