Apart, their lives are smooth sailing. Together, it’s pure craziness. But sometimes it’s okay to enjoy the rush of insanity.

This book was a short novella, and my first time with Summers. Now I have some very mixed feelings about it, mostly because it was the kind of book that I would generally love, but had characters that make me generally hate them.

Allow me to explain-

1. Harper is kind of an indecisive jerk.
2. Jude was the prince charming who accepted EVERYTHING! I don't think I like such saintly characters very much.
3. He called her "princess". EVERYTIME. Like eh.. no no no man. That just sounded creepy to me.
4. I kept waiting for the backstory for Harper's insecurities, but sadly, I'm still waiting, long after I finished the book.
5. A very sudden, very rushed HEA.

OK, I guess that was enough..? Why did I kind of like this book then? Because like I said, the story premise is something I am quite fond of. A second chance love story? Hell yeah. I just wish that there was more depth and backstory to the characters, because it felt like suddenly everything was thrown in my face, and I didn't know what to do with it. But I guess that is a novella for you..?

Summers' writing was pretty decent, so I might check out more books by her in the future.

I had a time a few years back when I was devouring rocker romances, but then that tapered off, but I was left with fond memories and the occasional craving for more band life, music and spcy hot romancing. I had always wanted to try this author's work so when a reading challenge had me searching for a rocker romance, I thought now was the time.

Rush of Insanity is a quick, hot standalone second chance romance for a lead singer who gave a woman space the first time when she upped and ran with no explanation because she couldn't handle her feelings, but now she's back and he's feeling it still and wanting his answers.

So, in a nutshell, I was less than impressed. Harper ran because she caught feelings and then she can't deal. She still can't deal and apparently other than off the topic snark meant to keep things off point, she can't open her mouth and have a needed conversation. This pair were combustible, but that is all I was getting from it. This was a novella and a swift reunion, I get that, and I get that things had to move along, but this story drove me nuts. I saw potential in the author's writing and plot premise, but the execution fell shy. I honestly never got what Harper's hang-up was. This was a great guy who laid it all out there for her and gave her no reason to doubt and yet she did. I needed to know more than she doesn't see herself well and she can't see this working out. I need a why after I had to sit through her mess. The hot encounter wasn't enough.

In summary, this was a disappointment. I will give the author's books another try particularly the novel-length because I didn't hate her writing and I want to try a different rocker romance from her.

~*~ 3.5 STARS ~*~

Whenever I'm craving a rock star romance read, one of the authors I think of is Eden Summers. I'm a HUGE fan of her Reckless Beat series and she always turns me to putty with her amazing heroes and sassy heroines. When I saw that she was releasing another rock star romance, I was extremely giddy. Although, RUSH OF INSANITY didn't hit the high notes like her others, I still enjoyed the read. It was quick, sexy, and blush-worthy to say the least. The only thing that distracted me a bit was the fact that it seemed we started the book in the middle of a story. The two main characters have already met and are reunited at the start of this book, which was okay, but I felt like I was missing out on something important. We get a glimpse of the past, but it still wasn't enough to satisfy my craving for the backgrounds of these two characters. The chemistry was there, the sexual appeal was there, the passion was slow-going but was eventually there. I did enjoy the sexy banter between the two and I found myself giggling a couple of times. All in all, this was a good read and just hyped me up from what is to come from this great author. If you are looking for a quick, down and dirty, sexy, second chance love story, then this is your cup of tea. If you enjoyed this and you are craving more, I beg for you to check out her Reckless Beat series, as it is one of my favorites!

Eden Summers is one of my top favorite authors. She has a colorful way with words that always – always – pull at my heartstrings. Her stories are always emotional and raw and with multi-layered characters you cannot help but fall in love with. RUSH OF INSANITY is no different. It has all of these treats – plus, it’s a second chance romance featuring one hot rock star. Just… yum!

But I have to say … I couldn’t really understand Harper why she walked away in the first place. Clearly, what she had with Judd was something special – something more – yet she chose the more cowardly way out instead of trying and talk things out, giving their relationship a real chance…

Thankfully, Judd is one determined man. And now that he is back in town again he will do anything for Harper and him to find a way back to one another – even if that means calling her out in front of thousands of people… The least Harper has to do is explain why she left him at all. I loved this man right from the start – he is sexy as hell, passionate and a whole lot of resolute and stubborn.

This story is quick and sweet and a whole lot of sexy with a bit crazy thrown into the mix. Like Eden’s other books, I wholeheartedly recommend this one. I only wished there was more…

A year ago Harper left world famous solo artist Judd Hart. Their worlds were miles apart so no matter how much she cared from him all they really shared was lust and the ability to drive each other nuts. Now though she finds herself questioning her sanity because she is at his concert drooling over the sound of his delicious voice after spending months convincing herself they could never work.

Judd though knows that letting Harper walk of out of his life was a hug mistake. Now that he sees her in the crowd of his concert he is not letting her run away again. Not even if he has to hold her hostage on his tour bus until he can seduce some sense into her. They may have a lot to work out, but this time, he will do whatever it takes to convince her they have a future.

Rush of Insanity is a second chance romance. Oh how I love second chance romances. Judd may be a rock star but he is not into the party life style at all. He really doesn't even care about the fame. He has never really understood why Harper ran from him. Those reasons though are very clear to Harper. I loved that these two were still so crazy about each other after all this time apart. I swear first love never dies. Judd and Harper had a love that was soul consuming and life changing and now that Judd has spotted her again he is doing whatever he has to to convince her they belong together. This story if full of passion, laughs, and an attraction that could melt your kindle right along with your heart.

Eden Summer writes with such passion you are drawn in from the first word and won't put it down to till the last one is read. I read this book all in one sitting and loved every single second of it. You do not want to miss Rush of Insanity.

This is more of a 2.5 star read that I am rounding up to 3 stars. The entire book felt very rushed, and it felt like it was starting in the middle of the story! I didn't get why Harper kept calling herself crazy, and why she was so insecure in the first place! Judd was a bit of a dichotomy, but I hated how much he kept calling Harper "Princess". The entire conflict between them was just stupid, as it all could have been resolved if they had been actual adults and communicated with one another! While it seems that the only thing I've enjoyed by this author is her rock star romances, this one missed the mark somewhat for me.

A short and sweet read. I liked the beginning and the build-up, and I really felt the emotional connection between Harper and Judd. I was a bit disappointed with the resolution though, I found it a bit lacking. :(

Readers who enjoy rock star romances will find a bit of afternoon delight in this fast-paced read full of self-doubts and misunderstandings. The theme of reunited lovers takes center stage as a couple wages a war of emotions and inner struggles when coming face to face with one another after one of them walked away without a word. It leads to an evening of steamy interludes and enlightening truths that will frustrate readers at times while leaving them cheering for HEA.

Judd loves creating and playing music, but hates everything else about his career. He's tired of the persona which is why he became so connected to Harper and her anti-fame personality. For him, she was a haven amongst the storm of his obligations and he desperately tried to shelter her from it. Whereas she was counting down the days until their time together ended he was looking towards the future. I liked Judd and his protectiveness towards Harper. He would do anything to make her happy, accepting her wholeheartedly, which added to his charm and sexiness. His being left behind, lost and confused, had my heart aching for him and forever tarnished how I viewed Harper.

Harper was a character that left me conflicted. At times I liked her strength while at other times I found her actions melodramatic. Her life was full of dichotomies, growing up surrounded by the trappings of wealth until fate sent her back to a much lower status. She never felt a part of anything or anyone, she always felt like she was on the outside looking in. Being with Judd meant interacting with many different people which brought her issues with self-esteem out in the open where his choice to keep her safe made her feel even more unworthy. Harper's a bold character, outspoken on many things except her feelings which was the crux of their parting and which frustrated me throughout the story. She's not one to back down easily and it came in handy once he was the one walking away.

This was a story of feelings and people being brave enough to admit their feelings. It took readers on a roller coaster journey of emotions that sometimes left me frustrated as they could've reached their HEA much sooner if they, mostly Harper, had just been honest from the start. There's unrelenting sexual tension between Harper and Judd as their unfinished business is very apparent which led to a scorching encounter that left their HEA even more uncertain. Ultimately, it's a quick read that gives a vivid slice of the music life to readers while giving them a romantic and satisfying conclusion richly earned after all the heart-wrenching emotions dealt with along the way.

3.5 STARS!

•••••••

REVIEW: RUSH OF INSANITY by Eden Summers is a stand alone, second chance rock star romance novella focusing on world famous solo artist Judd Hart, and the woman he loves Harper Douglas-a stylist who was once hired as part of his tour.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Harper and Judd) RUSH OF INSANITY focuses on Judd’s attempts to ‘win’ back the woman who walked away fifteen months earlier. With his concert appearance in Harper’s hometown of Denver, Judd hopes that Harper is in attendance because he is determined to make her a permanent part of his life but not before he uncovers the reasons she walked away months before.

Harper is a feisty and oft-times crazy female; a woman who believes she is not worthy of Judd’s love or the lifestyle he leads, and in this she struggles with her love and need for one of music’s biggest stars. Judd lives for the music and the stage, but finds the ‘extras’ too much, and in this he has something in common with Harper Douglas. The sexual attraction is palpable; there is a frenetic energy between our leading couple. Their need for one another is impassioned and intense; the lone $ex scene is seductive and emotional.

RUSH OF INSANITY is a quick read; a passionate story about two people whose lives imploded months before.

I LOVED Ms Summers Reckless Beat series, so a new novella with a new rock star - be still my beating heart!

Rush Of Insanity is just that - a quick, sexy read that will leave you wanting more.

Harper left rock star Judd a little over a year ago, never giving him any reasons. Now he's back in town and will do anything to get her back.

And oh what lengths he goes to to get her back.

If you love someone, set them free. If they don't come back, hunt them down - isn't that the saying?

There is so much passion, and sparks fly (and maybe some furniture as well) as our lovelies fight for what they have always wanted, fight to fit in.

“You may not think you fit in, but you always felt like home to me.”

So why not get a little insane in the brain and read Rush Of Insanity

Woo wee what a "Rush" !!

This is Judd and Harper's story. Judd is a musician and Harper was his assistant. Harper ended their relationship after she felt all they had was wild passion but there was too much insecurities getting in the way. After she walks, Harper realises that what they shared was so much more......but that ship has sailed........or has it ?

Judd given the opportunity to have Harper back in his life grips on to that chance........can they put the past behind them to secure their future ?

Well Eden takes us on one hell of a ride to find out !!. I loved Judd's calm, cool personality. He's a artist at odds with the razz-a-tazz that goes with the hype of his trade. Harper is just mental !! I n a good way !! Harper is definitely a breath of fresh air for Judd. These two seemingly polar opposites have so much more in common than they know, they just need to figure out their commonalities.

Bless Eden for giving me my duel POV, plus my HEA and yup I was all set !!. For fan's of Eden's work then this beauty will be right on the money x

Well done Eden and Many thanks for this opportunity x

Later peeps xxx

Harper walked away from Rock Star Judd Hart and everything that his life entailed. It didn't mean that her heart left with her. Their relationship was hot and crazy. He brought a different side of her, but would he wouldn't like the sides he never saw. So when her best friend Nicole talks her into going to his concert she goes but hides. He still finds her. Judd is determined to find out why she left him. The craziness really starts when the fire between them ignites again. Will Harper let Judd see all of her? Will Judd let her go again after he gets what he wants or can he make sure Harper knows he is not letting go this time? Are you ready for a Rush of Insanity?

Oh Judd, how you make my heart beat faster. I loved this story and wanted more and more. Judd is hot as hell. Harper is feisty and really brings to Judd to life. They are amazing together and they burn my kindle up. Eden Summers knows how to make the pages catch on fire, especially with these characters. You will be craving more of her writing like a bad habit. I know I am. Definite must read!!!

This was an all around disappointment.

I was bummed this was only a novella, when I assumed it was full length. I think it might have worked well as a full length story because things would have been less rushed, and more of the characters history could have been explored, therefore I might have actually cared for them.

Harper seemed to be lacking any great feeling toward Judd, and he seemed to crave little more than her spiteful mouth and her sex. Neither of them fought for one another - in the past or the present - so why should I care?

I did like the beginning scene at the concert (even though Harper's friend was an ignoramus) but from there the story went downhill.

I do like the cover though.

The story has laughs, suspense and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this short story.

This is Harper and Judd’s story. Harper and Judd were together but one day Harper just walked away. When Judd is back in her town he calls her out during a concert. He just needs a chance to win her back and find out why she left him in the first place. Harper thinks she turns into a different person around Judd and she does not like that person. Can these two figure out what they can do to Harper thinks she turns into a different person around Judd and she does not like that person. Can these two figure out what they can do to make this relationship work so they can give it another try or is this really the end?

I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

A hot little number!!

Another lunch time quickie! But totally worth it!

Harper and Judd were a couple, a couple that burned for each other. But the flame was doused due to communication and insecurities, chalk it up to age and lack of experience. This time Judd is back and is steadfast on getting and keeping his girl! Can he get Harper and keep her? Will she allow Judd back into her heart?

I love Harper. She is witty, crazy, and insecure. She's every girl out there. Judd still loves Harper and isn't sure why she ran off. Will he get his answers? Can he make this work for them? Can she?

Read this novella. You'll love Harper and Judd. I hope they get a novel of their own, that this was just a prequel. EDEN can you make that happen for us? Judd and Harper a novel. Pretty please!

I LOVE Eden's rock star romances!

This one was set up beautifully, and to me, the scenario never gets old; the rock god who never got over the woman he truly loved.

While the feelings between Harper and Judd were incredibly intense, I had kind of a hard time with their personalities. They were both a little too stuck in their own ways and doing the "I'm going to keep my true feelings a secret" thing. Although I did like the story, I did get kinda frustrated at times.

But, aside from that, I loved the beginning, steamy middle and end, and thought this was a great way to get a quick rock star fix!

Harper and Judd's story is one about a second chance to get things right. Judd knows that he should have fought harder for her and he is more than willing to fight for her heart now. Taking her away to get that point across is exactly what he does. Harper needs to see what she means to him. I enjoyed their story.

I give Rush of Insanity 4 hearts!

Quick, short and intense! Harper is clearly insecure about who she is, trying to live up to an image she cultivated when she was with Judd before, thinking that's what had attracted him to her. She feels her real personality is miles apart from what he sees in her and fears his rejection.

Judd has no idea why Harper walked out on him over a year ago and can't believe she did. He's not been the same since. He wants her back in his life.

I think what struck me most about this story was how neither one of them showed their true self to one another. And yet, they clearly saw enough to want a relationship in the beginning...but it is precisely that "not being real" to each other that makes Harper believe it can't last and therefore walks.

Fast forward to Judd finding Harper again. Will Judd see the real Harper to understanding why she left before? Will Harper be real with Judd, allowing him to truly see her? And will Judd do the same?

I was hoping for a little longer story to allow for deeper character building, to discover more from their past to relate to why they are the way they are, etc. (we only get a brief glimpse of this with Harper), however, it was still an enjoyable, quick story!

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.

"The man was a hypnotist...who could manipulate the mind and body with a flash...surviving without him was like conquering a craving for soda, chocolate, or coffee..." Just one of the memorable thoughts by the main character Harper when she is dragged to her ex-boyfriend's concert by her best friend. Eden Summers' vivid descriptions just lure you in and won't let you go. The story is super fun and interesting. This isn't really a "rock star" story about that type of lifestyle, but more of a ...ahem...romance that happens to rekindle when the heroine (Harper) is kinda kidnapped by the hero (Judd). We find out what happened between the two and why Harper felt she needed to leave Judd when basically all her thoughts were : "...nothing was ever the same again...even the air tasted different after a Judd high..." Whew. Rush of Insanity is just that- a rush- of humor, heat, sexiness, drama, angst, and every emotion in between! Definitely a must read. And if you like this story, I can so recommend all of the Reckless Beat Series and Vault books by Eden Summers. But seriously beware, you will get hooked! I was given an ARC copy of this novella to review, and I can honestly say it was a pleasure to do so.

Let me start by saying I love Eden Summers and her Reckless Beat Rock series in one of my favorites. That being said, while I liked the premise of this story, there wasn't enough of it. Harper was a stylist for solo artist Judd and when he got flirty with her, she got snarky with him, this sealed the deal for Judd and Harper's sexual relationship during that tour. Harper, for reasons I still don't understand, kept saying that she would leave him after the tour, Judd thought she was being her snarky self. That's the backstory - The book picks up when Harper reluctantly is dragged by her friend Nicole who has been catatonic over the break up by her fiance to Judd's concert. Judd does something at the concert that is so over the top and Harper is basically kidnapped by his bodyguards as he wants to know why she left him. I don't know what to say here - Judd is more transparent than Harper in his feelings but she has issues that aren't fully explained. I just wish this book wasn't as short as it was and wanting more from Eden Summers is never a bad thing.

What a fun, quick read! Eden Summers has written another rocker romance. If you’ve read her Reckless Beat series, you know her rockers are HOT! Rush of Insanity is a bit different than Reckless Beat but still a good read, with bit of angst and a lot of chemistry.

Rush of Insanity is a second chance romance between Harper and Judd. Judd is a music star, but while he loves the music, he doesn't care for the parties and fame. Harper loves Judd but feels like she is never truly herself around him. They can't seem to live with each other, but they also can't live without each other, which they already discovered after their previous breakup. Both characters were well developed and mostly believable, although there were times I wanted to smack some sense into them.

The plot was steady and had some tension that kept my interest throughout the book. I read it in one day as I couldn’t wait to see the outcome. I had to know what would happen between Harper and Judd.

I’ve become a big Eden Summers fan. Rush of Insanity did not disappoint. I can’t wait to see what she publishes next!

Rush of Insanity is a short read but leaves you with that rush of exhilaration that you get when you attend a rock concert. Judd and Harper have the chemistry and connection that only happens once in a lifetime but when the rush that person brings you scares you to the point you are going insane, is it time to walk away for once and for all. Their story is a second chance romance and one that is full of angst and drama. When Judd finds the girl that is his home who walked away from him with no explanation in the audience at his latest concert he has decided he will do anything and everything to make sure she does not walk away again. It will take facing their fears and finally expressing them to each other to end the irrationality that surrounds them. This is my first book of Eden Summers and will not be my last. My only negative would be that I wanted an epilogue but that could be me just being greedy and wanting more.

Rush of Insanity is the story of Harper and Jude. Jude is a rock star who falls in love with his stylist, Harper. She loves him as well, but abruptly leaves him without an explanation. This is the first book I have read by Eden Summers. It was pretty good, but too short for me. The couple had great chemistry. The book was written well. Jude was sweet, sexy and very devoted to Harper. I didn't really care for Harper's character as much. She was kind of annoying and indecisive. I thought the way she left Jude was selfish and cowardly. However, books would be pretty boring if the characters didn't have flaws! Overall, this was very enjoyable for a novella and I would recommend it for a quick, sexy read.

I'm a huge fan of Eden Summers and love getting my hand on a new book of her HOT Rock Star Romances, Eden's books are full of brilliant humor, very, very hot men who are generally brought to their knees by a strong woman, and hoards of passion and hot sex scenes.

Rush of Insanity has you gripped from the start, my expectations were definitely met ! Harper and Judd clearly have a past, Harper tries to convince herself its a past she has walked away from, Judd is determined that the past is going to become the future once again. Yes Rush of Insanity is a short read however that doesn't take away the amazing content of the book.

I recommend Eden's books to everyone and this is just another to add to the list, the only downfall was I was left wanting more.

Harper left world-famous rock star, Judd Hart, over a year ago. Harper thought that their worlds didn't mesh and all they had in common was lust. Her best friend has asked her to go to Judd's concert. Harper agreed as long as they sat in the nosebleed seats away from the view of the stage.

Judd realizes that letting Harper walkout was the biggest mistake of his life. Once he spotted her in the crowd of his concert, he isn't going to let her walk away. He will do anything including holding her hostage on his tour bus until he can get her back.

I was so hooked on this book. When it ended, I was left sucking air. I loved Harper and Judd and was so thrilled that Judd was able to get her back. I loved how they got to their ending.

Rush of Insanity is a highly impassioned second chance love story done right! It is a short novella but it still manages to pack quite a punch.
Harper and Judd's love story is one that will move you and one that will give you hope. I enjoyed every single minute of it.
You never truly forget your first love. No matter what circumstances drive you apart, they will always hold a piece of you in their heart. When Harper and Judd are reunited under comical circumstances, emotions are high, passions are intense, and regret and sorrow hangs in the air. But under all that, there is a love that was forged a long time ago. I fucking loved this book!

It was short and sharp and felt like it was so much longer as I was reading it!

This book was so so so good!

I could have sunk my teeth right into the fucking storyline I loved it that much!

How the hell did you get so much chemistry and angst into this one Miss Eden Summers!

I absolutely loved this book and it was just another confirmation why Eden Summer is such a brilliant and captivating author for me....as well as being one of the absolutely loveliest human I have ever had the pleasure of calling a friend!

This book packed such a punch I'm still reeling from the aftershocks!
