Heavenly story!
Granted that’s a really bad pun, but the sentiment is not, this was a beautiful story about finding love in the most unexpected of places and coming to terms with it’s not always what you love as who. Set to the backdrop of this imperfect world we inhabit where hate and prejudice compete with love and acceptance and where the good are not always good and the bad are often hard to determine.
Angel Reversed: Detective John Stonebrook knows loss, his job keeps him knee deep in it day in and day out, not to mention the loss he suffered when a serial killer took his family. Stone know loss but he has forgotten life. Finn knows not of loss or life, he only knows Heaven where he was created for Anifiel, leader of Heavens army. That is until his curiosity lands him on the middle tier (Earth) where he accidentally binds himself to a mentally handicapped man (Jeremy) as a guardian angel which Finn is not equipped for, furthermore Jeremy’s alter ego Jack is a sick, cruel, twisted persona with a couple of demon sidekicks bent on corrupting and turning Finn. When a murder investigation causes Stone’s and Finns paths to cross they both start feeling surprising emotions for the other, but so many things stand in the way of any kind of relationship, Stone most of all. If Stone is not careful, Finn may have him choosing life again.
Angel Redeemed: Finn and Stone become closer but new dangers emerge and Finn finds not everything is trustworthy, even if it comes in the form of another angel.
Angel Released: Wow what a spectacular finish! Finn finds there is so much more going on than he was aware of, for one he was never alone, and with faith evil can be overcome (especially when things appear to be at their worst). Potent story, one I highly recommend!

There were some things I really enjoyed about this series, but the world building was a confused mess. You kind of had to wade through a lot of muck to get to the good stuff, and generally it lacked cohesion.

The story unfolds over the three books.
Finn is a made Angel. He is made to be the consort and love of Anifel the commander of heavens army. Finn is curious and after making friends with humans in heaven wants to visit the human realm. When he arrives on earth, he makes the mistake of talking to Jeremy who is covered in blood and distressed, promising to protect him seals his fate and he is now a guardian angel, something he is not made for, or equiped for. Jeremy while appearing sweet and gentle is not all he seems. His identity disorder bring forth Jack, the cruel and viscous side.
John is a detective, who's wife and daughter were murdered 3 years before. His main focus is to find the killer and then kill himself as he doesn't want to live. Johns transformation through the books was well done.
The first of the three books, set up the story. It introduced most of the players and hooked me as I watched Finn and John struggle to find common ground. They didn't fully get together till the later book and that worked for me. The "daddy" kink didn't, but that is a personal preference and I just chose to ignore it when mentioned.
This book is about choices, and being able to make them and live with your choices once you've made them
One part of the timeline worried me a bit, but was explained well, near the end of the book. I still had questions as to why, and some of the characters motivations, but upon reflection have answered most of them.
Worth the read

Brilliant...

Well if your looking for a book with a red headed cross dressing stripping Angel and a grumpy widowed police detective then this is the book.....yes who new a book like this existed and would be this good. I mean where do I start I've never loved a character as much in a long while , Finn is just Finn would the best description I can think off really.....he's funny, caring, loving, happy and yeah sexy (and not forgetting his absolute love and obsession with food)...I know some people will think weird book and it wont be every ones cup off tea but heck do you know what let them read something else because this book deserves to be read and enjoyed.

So if your in the market for something a little different then this is it.

God I'm gonna miss this book and sad it's finished.
