Mystic Nights Casino is the newest gambling hot spot to hit Lantern Hill, and Tawny Sassacus runs it. For her people, the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation, she is determined to make it a success despite trouble with politicians, and a rival tribal nation. I have been a fan of this author since I read the first book in The Bounty Hunters series. Her writing is classified as some of my more serious kindle crack, and I may or may not have been stalking her while I waited for this new series.
Mystic Nights Casino is the newest hot spot casino to hit Lantern Hill, with an amazing woman named Tawny Sassacus running it successfully. She's determined to make it a hit for her Eastern Paquot Tribal Nation despite having to put up with all the men and their politics. Jonathan Sassacus is the vice-chair of the casino and her son, spends no time chasing women, as he only has time for a sure bet. That all changes when he comes face to face with Aliya Chance, a new dancer. She has her own demons that she's trying to fight, and doesn't want any part of another relationship with an alpha. But neither can deny the instant spark they have, nor the best night either of them have ever had. With hidden enemies trying to take the casino down, will Jonathan and Aliya have a chance at something great?
So I totally LOVED LOVED LOVED this story. The character development is spot on fantastic, and I loved how the author had Aliya's past combined with The Marino Brothers. A fast paced, exciting, and very well written story line flowed perfectly, and I wanted more immediately after finishing. M.J. Nightingale is brilliant at writing twists and turns that keep me on my toes cover to cover, on top of my heart racing. No matter how much I thought I knew what was going to happen, she throws in another twist to change it all up. The chemistry is flammable, leading to EXPLOSIVE sexy scene goodness that shouldn't be read in public. I know I may seem a bit biased, but I'm YELLING do yourself a solid and check this author out as you to will become highly addicted to her talented writing style that always leaves me wanting more. I CANNOT WAIT for the next book, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY and yes, you guessed it, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I wasn't sure about this story in the beginning. I didn't so much like the way Jonathan & Aliya interacted. But as the story progressed, and Jonathan started his pursuit and Aliya began to trust him with her past, I started to fall into the story. Along with the romance and relationship between these two, we also get to see the ins & outs of this casino, and the tribe, and the families. And, as is a theme in this author's writing, we also get glimpses of what's going on w/ the bad guy(s). Always an interesting element to the story!!
Oh! And I almost forgot to mention one of my favorite aspects of the story, and it is directly related to the awesomeness I came to like about Jonathan. Aliya has what she considers a deep, dark secret. It's heartbreaking & her feelings about this decision she made when she was younger really weighs heavily on her mind. When she builds up the courage to give Jonathan a real chance at a relationship, she feels she needs to let him in on this so there are no secrets that could crop up later. When she goes to tell him, he already knows what it is and the way he handles it, the way he comforts and helps her... THAT was one of my favorite parts! : )

Chances by MJ Nightingale is a fast paced page turner from page 1! The way MJ develops her characters, gives them time to "grow", it's amazing. I love the story line in Chances. MJ"s writing pulls you into the pages and makes you part of the story! I can not wait to see the Sassacus' Families next "adventure" in Triple Diamonds.

This book was really slow in the beginning. It was hard to get into as a lot of back info happened all at once in the beginning of the book. But once I got half-way through it picked up rather quickly and I started to fall in love with the two main characters. Though I wish that the back info was spread out and talked about more from the characters then all of the info at once. I did love Jonathan and the things he did throughout the book. Though wanted to knock him out with how he treated her towards the ending. I highly recommend checking this book out.

So glad I took a chance to continue reading books this author. This book is as entertaining as her other series I have read. This book has suspense, love and some steaminess that keeps it really interesting. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Great book from kindle unlimited. Book 1 in the series. Introduce us to the Casino on the reservation that is family own. This is the oldest sons book and his dancer.

Chances is the start of another good series, Mystic Nights, by M. J. Nightingale. The first book in the series focuses on the oldest brother in the Sassacus family, Jonathan.
Jonathan is the Vice-Chair of Mystic Nights Casino & Spa a new casino of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation. His primary focus is to make the casino successful.
Aliya Chance is a dancer and choreographer at the casino. She is focused on saving money to start a dancing school. The casino gives her a place to dance and concentrate on her school during off hours. She stays clear of Jonathan, for a time, because she knows he isn’t interested in relationships. I love the Bounty Hunter series and Aliya was a small but important character in that series. It is fun to see her here.
I like the writing. MJ does an excellent job of developing the story line and the characters. For the most part the tale moves at a fast pace unfolds in a way that keeps the reader focused and interested.
The characters are interesting and are developed in a way that the readers feels the relationship between Jonathan and Aliya grow from a fling to a full out love affair. Jonathan’s family is introduced with just enough interest to make a reader want to know more about them. It is going to be interesting to read the other books in this series especially Tawny’s story, the matriarch of the Sassacus family.
I like the ancillary characters. Aliya has good strong support group of friends and family. They aren’t big features in the story but they are very important to the story. The Eastern Pequot council members are interesting and I’m hoping to find out more about them in future books.
The ending is very satisfying with a little hint at future events. I really like these characters and can’t wait for more. I recommend this book and I’m confident that this is going to be another fun family series from M.J. Nightingale.

First off I do believe this is the first time in reading this author for me even though been wanting to for a while now. So it would be fair to say I was tickled when I finally sat down to read one of her novels. I love the name of the casino for this series, it in itself would pull me in. The foundation is something I liked also because I myself love to read anything with tribes leading the way. She is a strong lady with this series going to feature each one of her children that will be the pieces that will make a whole. This one kicks it off with Jonathan whom is the player that will get caught but with beauty and rarity of spirit that will bring him to his knees. I also chuckled that she also had him doing the grovel and kinda got his nose bent with shoe on the other foot. Once that is on firmly though they will build a relationship that will be forged in fire but will be tested to say the least. Time for mom to go on vacation for refueling, while she is gone he must find where the damage is in the books. He also must find the mouse responsible before time is up with the way this author gives you the who and whats it fuels the intrigue factor with you too getting out the ole magnifi- glasses to help. She is also very good at building this up to the point that when it all crashes you are so caught up and clinching hooping it is not too late. This was definitely one I read pdq with most definitely going to be watching out for the other ones in this series because I will not want to miss them.

He never bets on anything but a sure thing ( one night usually) until he meets a beautiful dancer at the Casino. One night is not going to be enough for either one of them. Both losing their hearts to each other. They are trying to figure out their past lives.
Aliya wants to teach at her own studio to kids from home town. Fighting demons from the past. Jonathan dosent need the distraction. He is hunting down skimmers and embezzlers in the casino .

Wow so if you haven't read any of M.J. Nightingale's books this is for sure one to read. I have read a few of her others and fell in love with them all. This one was no different and even more heart squeezing at least for me. Jonathan Sasscus is the VP of his families casino and wants to make sure everything runs smoothly since his mom has worked so hard to get it up and running. Aliya Chance is strong and broken at the same time. She is the dancer and chorographer of their theater. I will say the ones she dances and they describe seem so amazing. Anyways these two get together, but it's hard to stay with one another with forces are against you. She has a past and it's a sad one I was able to feel what they both felt and that's hard to do when reading stories. Someone is trying to ruin everything that Jonathan and his family has worked for. With his mom on vacation and his relationship with Aliya growing something big will happen and you will think what??? What I did love about this book is it is told in multiple POV's. Hope you enjoy this story.

I loved reading Chances. It was amazing! The storyline is fast paced and grabs your attention from the first chapter.
We get to meet the Sassacus family who own Mystic Nights Casino.
Chances is about Jonathan who is hot sexy and super busy with the business. He has no time for a relationship but Aliya changes all that with one look. Things seem to go well until danger arrives!
I can't wait for the next one.

I received a copy of this book exchange for an honest review. Love Aliya and Jonathan story and how their attraction growth stronger. Aliya has made mistakes in the past but should be forgiven and find hope to one handsome man Jonathan. Jonathan has problems with the casino but will he be able to put a stop to the problem or would someone he care for get caught in the cross fire. Can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Such an excellent read for the first book in this series. Love the Sassacus family. Already a little intrigue with the family. Loved reading Johnathan and Aliya's love story. Suspenseful storyline. Loved the Marino connection and giving you a new point of view. Can't wait for the next instalment. This book is a must read.
