Pineapple has taken on a mythical significance since I first read it when I was twenty. The Fullerton College Library in California has a copy. It is incredibly hard to track down. I only read it once and I remember being totally blown away by how characteristically 1960s the characters were. I should probably not attempt to read it again, and let it live on in my memory as a perfect book. For a while my email address was pineapple_scurf in honor of this book and the movie Amelie. If I could eat this book, or smoke its pages, I would.
