Taslima Nasrin (Bengali: তসলিমা নাসরিন) is an award-winning Bangladeshi writer, physician, secular humanist and human rights activist, known for her powerful writings on women oppression and unflinching criticism of religion, despite forced exile and multiple fatwas calling for her death. Early in her literary career, she wrote mainly poetry, and published half a dozen collections of poetry between 1982 and 1993, often with female oppression as a theme. She started publishing prose in the early 1990s, and produced three collections of essays and four novels before the publication of her 1993 novel Lajja (Bengali: লজ্জা Lôjja), or Shame. Because of her thoughts and ideas she has been banned, blacklisted and banished from Bengal, both from Bangladesh and West Bengal part of India. Since fleeing Bangladesh in 1994, she has lived in many countries, and lives in United States as of July 2016. Nasrin has written 40 books in Bengali, which includes poetry, essays, novels and autobiography series. Her works have been translated in thirty different languages. Some of her books are banned in Bangladesh.'

If you write a book like "Nimontron" where the men are portrayed as evil, surely the fragile male ego is going to get hurt and the "men" are gonna hate you for it and they would want your decapitated head on their hands. The same happened in the case of Taslima Nasrin too.

Nimontron is a book that will make you feel happy and sad and then make you feel very angry. The story follows the classic Taslima Nasrin style with a very sad and tragic ending in the end. It is a story of a young vulnerable woman who falls in love with a man named Mansur who seems to be a very nice guy in the beginning. But he betrays her in the most brutal way and leaves her with no choice but to accept a very tragic fate which is gonna make you very very angry and sad at the same time. Classic Taslima!

The book is a mix of dark comedy and romance with the end portraying the betrayal by the men. Taslima Nasrin used her style of writing very wittily here with sharp dialogues, graphic and realistic descriptions. Like her other works, Nimontron is a powerful and poignant critique of the patriarchal and oppressive society that our women live in and the hypocrisy and violence that they face. It is a book that will stay with you long after you finish it.

I definitely recommend it.

What the f just happen? Why it turns out like this. Like yeah, I know from the beginning that Taslima always has some tragic part in her book. But, I loved that guy Mansur so much. But, what he did was totally..... Like, I literally have nothing to say.
Thanks for reading. Even though it's not a proper review. <3
