Sleepwalker

Rate this book
When the quiet girl in Clayton Hugh's chemistry class comes knocking on his door at five in the morning barely covered up in her little pajamas, inattentive, and drooling like crazy, he has no choice but to take her inside. But once Lucy Walker wakes up inside a room she has never seen before wearing an over-sized t-shirt and gym shorts, you can imagine the pure panic setting in her. The subtle addition of Clayton entering the room shirtless doesn't help much either.

After three years of fawning over him, leave it up to her sleepwalking to finally get Clayton Hugh to notice her.

Such a cute story. The sleepwalking was described amazingly. Clayton is such a heartthrob. Lucy is adorable. I love them. Jacob is hilarious. I loved his interactions with Clayton. I love the parents friendship and rooting for Clayton and Lucy. The ending was so sweet and perfect. Though I really wanted a time skip.

I thought the cover was cute for this book and liked how it tied into the story.

Lucy Walker is a junior in high school. She has had a crush for three years on this boy name Clayton Hugh(he is a junior too).He moved to the states from Norway three years ago. He is one of the popular jocks at school. He plays baseball. Lucy thinks that Clayton doesn't even know she exists.

On Lucy's 17th birthday she makes a wish that Clayton will finally notice her. Little does she know that Clayton already knows who she is and likes her too.

Unfortunately, Lucy has this condition where she sleepwalks. It started back when she was in 3rd grade. She has been to doctors looking for a cure to no avail. One night, Lucy ends up sleepwalking clear across town to Clayton's house! She is only wearing the skimpy pjs that her aunt got her for her birthday. Clayton is freaked out when he answers the door because he thinks something bad might have happened to Lucy. He doesn't realize that she is sleepwalking. It's scary that she was sleep walking throughout town because something bad could have ended up happening to her.

After the sleepwalking incident, Clayton is determined to try to help Lucy find a cure for her condition. It ended up being cute/light read.

Clay and Lucy's parents were entertaining. It was nice to see the h/H both have good parents in a book.

I'm glad there didn't end up being ow drama. I worried that there would end up being drama with Courtney. I'm glad the author didn't make her the sterotypical mean girl cheerleader/ow. However, I was confused about Courtney in the book. Clayton's story about her kept changing. First, he said Courtney asked him out at least 20 times and he said no. Then he said he was tricked into a date with Courtney, but kept making up excuses to get out of the date. Then, it seemed like Clay refered to her as a past girlfriend. Then, Clay said Courtney was a past fling. Which is it?

I wasn't a fan of Clay's so called guy friends Zeke and Matteo. However, Matteo grew on me and I liked him by the end. I didn't like Zeke at all. I hope Matteo ditched him as a friend. I liked Lucy's friends Cara, Abby, and J.K.

Clay admitted when he first moved there, he used the whole foreign guy thing to his advantage to hookup with girls. He admits Zeke was a bad influence on him. However, Clay has grown out of that phase.

I really liked Lucy's older brother Jacob in the book. He was funny and very protective of his little sister. Thank God the author didn't kill of her brother because the way Lucy was talking at the beginning of the book I didn't know if he was away at college or if died. He was very much alive.

The author said that she was going to write a spin off book for Jacob. She said that it would be posted after chapter 23 or 24 of this book. I was going to read his book after Sleepwalker, but there was no book to be found. I think Sleepwalker was finished back in 2017? Did Jacob ever get a book?

I want to know if Lucy was completely cured of her sleepwalking?I wanted a little more on that in the end.

So very cute and simple, and I loved it. Realistic teenagers with realistic emotions!! People with disabilities whose personalities don't revolve around their disability!! The plot isn't driven by lust!!

The only thing I had some issues with was the bilingual representation, but frankly, it was a gazillion times better than most (published) books. And the dude's ethnicity/accent wasn't his main focal point, which I greatly appreciated. Oh AND the dude's already undergone character development, so he isn't a massive douchebag at the beginning!!
