Bem completinho!

Alguma dúvida do sucesso de Space! por aqui? Certamente será daqueles livros que acompanham a criança por muito, muito tempo.

Knowledge Encyclopedia SPACE! offers a very complete, detailed and visual manner to learn about the universe around planet Earth. The book is structured in the following parts:
- The solar system (sun, planets, moons, asteroids, comets...)
- Stars (morphology and types)
- Space exploration (telescopes, rockets, proves, rovers, shuttles, flybys, orbiters, space stations, gear)
- The night sky (the celestial sphere, tips for stargazing, northern and souther star hopping, maps and constellations)
- Reference (data on the solar system, , dates for meteor showers, comet sightings, solar eclipses, data on missions to our neighbouring planets, details on stars and galaxies visible with the naked eye, with binoculars or telescopes)
- Glossary with the most used terms.

I appreciate the clarity of the explanations, the rich graphics, the fun facts about the origin of the names of the constellations and their mythological and historical references.
This book is a good companion to get a first taste on knowing better the space around planet Earth. Space exploration makes sense based on the feeling of awe facing the mystery of the universe.

Thanks for the amazing team work and cooperation of all involved in this project. Excellent work!

Wow. This is a great factual book and like all DK books, we have found that they are well made, clear and concise. This book is pitched for children age 8+ learning about space although younger children could still enjoy as family reading.
Each double page has a main feature with great colour pictures and illustrations that can blow your mind. They are not overly text heavy and split into sections that you can read in more or less details depending on your needs.
Over 200 pages of great information split into easy to find sections: The Solar System; Stars; Galaxies; Exploring Space and The Night Sky.
Would highly recommend this book.

This encyclopedia covers a wide range of matters related to space.
The Solar System, Space, Star, Galaxies, etc.

The flames exploding from the sun give off a tremendous amount of energy.
MilkyWay's noble violet color is stunningly beautiful.

Astronomers are desperately researching the origin of the universe, but the truth is that less than 1% of the universe is yet to be understood.

Important Line: Dark Matter
Most of the matter in the universe is not ordinary matter but dark matter, which is impossible to see and isn’t made up of atoms. Dark matter can only be detected by the gravity it exerts.

Loved it in theory, but when would I actually read all of this and finish this book. Lovely pictures. Best pictures I've ever seen. Strictly a reference book though.

NonFiction/Twin Text #1

This book is a great example of education and reading made fun. Science is such a fun genre for kids to dive into. The book has tons of bright and vibrant images and illustrations that help make the reading more engaging. I loved learning about space when I was younger, so I would enjoy helping engage my students on the subject. The book is broken into parts that are broken up into sections. For example, the first part is titled The Solar System and that is broken into 30 sections. Some of the sections are: The Sun's Family, Exploring Mars, and Saturn's rings.

The fiction book I paired with this text was Star Wars The Last Jedi by Ella Patrick. I know this is definitely a fiction book about space, but I love the Star Wars movies. I thought this would be a fun pairing because of the different "planets" and ships Star Wars talks about. The copyright date for this book is 2017.

I would recommend both of these books be read by intermediate grade level students (grades 3-6). With how long some of the texts are and the vocab in them, that age group could handle it. The text can be a little grown up but when paired with the pictures, it becomes more child friendly.

I loved this! Highly recommend. I was a beginner to space, having recently taken an interest. I wanted to learn more, and I found this book. In a couple of days, I'm the one who knows everything, fascinating everyone. This is a resourceful book and it would be excellent to use as a reference or textbook. Or you could read it for the same purpose I did: for fun!

Outstanding illustrations. I didn't read all the text but the amount I did read was very well-written, concise, and accurate. A wonderful present for older kids as well as most adults.
