‘Cheese Tarts and Fluffy Socks’ zeroes in on a steamy one-night stand that, unknown to either party, is about to kick-off a working relationship that is far more than awkward. A hotel badly in need of investment, a young entrepreneur has been sent in to decide if it’s a good investment, but the daughter of the owner is…well…you get the picture.
Darrington Hall hotel is barely keeping afloat, and it's up to Holly Jenkins to save it. Jumping from one crisis to another, dealing with an errant father, irate guests and enduring some highly charged professional differences with the man that Holly can't get out of her head, and it looks certain that she will fail.
Against the backdrop of a crumbling hotel, Cheese Tarts and Fluffy socks is a great read with funny and witty dialogue. Interspersed with some dramatic moments is a complex, fun and sexy love story that will make you smile and give you a warm glow.
PLEASE NOTE: This book contains some mild sex scenes and moderately bad language.
I live in Cheshire with my husband, two dogs and mum in law and write romantic humour and contemporary romance. My first two books, Guess Who I Pulled Last Night? and No Bra Required both stayed at number 1 on the Amazon Humour list for 3 & 4 weeks respectively. My ambitions of becoming a writer started at the age of 10 when I started writing poetry at school, and was given the honour of reading one out to the rest of my year group (an horrific experience that I will never forget). Thankfully I have a wide variety of strange and wonderful people in my life, otherwise I'd be stuck on what to write about! I am currently talking to family and friends, finding out their innermost secrets in readiness for my next book.
My books are romances that come with a little more than vanilla sexy times, sometimes a few tears, lots of hot men and feisty women, but ultimately they'll make you smile.

Cheese Tarts and Fluffy socks isn’t my typical read but I enjoyed the storyline. It starts with a one night stand between two complete strangers.
Holly and her father are trying to save their family hotel. Liam is the guy sent to try and get them to sell. His family want to “invest” in the hotel. Holly and Liam must work together to find a solution for the hotel. Sparks fly and romance blossoms.
One night with Holly isn’t enough for Liam. She’s unlike any women he has ever met.
Cheese Tarts and Fluffy socks is a fun story set in England. It's a little sassy, a little sweet and has a quirky edge. This is an interesting read.
I'm a huge fan of dark reads and I've made no secret of that. But often, I need a light book to read after the dark aftermath and sometimes I even weave a lighter book into my crazy ARC schedule. This time it was a chick lit book by Nikki Ashton and WOW!
It was amazing!
It had moments where it was laugh out loud funny and it was so super sweet and cute and I loved the main characters and how well they went together.
The writing style of this author is incredible. It makes me want to devour each and every book she's ever written. I often choose contemporary romances as my dark hangover cure books but this author has kinda converted me into a chick lit fanatic. If you love rom-coms (movies and books) then you will adore this author's work!
It took so long to read because of the gorgeous weather... but I did read as much as I could between the sun 😊
I think I loved it more because I was a hotel receptionist until I became a manager. For the last 6+ years I worked in hotels. I have had some weird experiences. I could actually picture it when reading this book.
It was hot and lovely and sweet and funny. Everything you need in a book.
I understood where she was coming from with low self esteem and confidence. I’ve been through it with my own mother. I could really relate to this book which I loved.
When ever Nikki announces she's has a new book out, I can't help but get very excited about it. I've loved all of Nikki's books, there's something about her writing that gets me excited! Everyone I've read becomes my favourite, until the next one comes along! Cheese Tarts and Fluffy Socks though completely blew my mind, I read it in one sitting- I couldn't stop. In places I was laughing in others I was crying, Nikki is really good at making you feel you arebgoing on the same journey as the characters! It's safe to say every girl who reads this book is going to want to have a Liam all of their very own, me included. I really hope that Nikki does a follow up to this one, when I've reached the end of any Nikki's books I always want to read more of her work. I eagagly wait her next book :) Nikki is definatly my favourite author, there's isn't many books I would stay up and read well into the night to finish, it's like an addiction I just can't put it down until I've got to the end. Well done Nikki another super book!
Enjoyable book. Lovely light summer read. Perfect holiday reading. The thing I love about this author is that she manages to create brilliant main characters. They are always so likeable that you are willing a HEA for them throughout the book. I agree that some elements are predictable, but so well written that this isn't even a factor worth considering. You know what's coming, but still can't wait to find out, plus the detail and little twists make the story a joy to read. I have always enjoyed Nikki Ashton's style of writing and have not been disappointed in any of her previous work. This book left me smiling.
Once again another brilliant book by Nikki, I loved this story and the way it flowed, didn't want to put it down till I had finished it.
After a one night stand and the best sex of her life, Holly didn't think she would see Bobby (Liam) again, but how wrong she was.
Holly was trying to save her dads Hotel from being sold, just have a big corporation invest, who put their best manager in to advise, and in strolls Liam, between them, they struggled with a few unfortunate incidents but determined not to fail.
I highly recommend this book and all the others that Nikki writes.
As always with a Nikki Ashton read this was one fab well researched storyline... the only thing I found missing was the humour that Nikkis books usually contain but I think this is one of her earlier books so that could explain that. So we have Liam.. brought up working and loving being in the family hotel business working his way up to making it on his own one day.. Then we have Holly who is more forced into running the family hotel business with her dad and she dreams of doing something more with her life one day... but she just doesnt know what yet. With no self confidence Holly doesnt quite believe that Liam would want to be friends never mind anything more... cue a rollercoaster of a story that keeps you hanging on every word until the very end! Fab read.. fab characters.. fab storyline.
Oh my freaking goodness, this book was so ridiculously painful to read and was clearly not for me. The characters weren’t very likable and were rather unrealistic and the dialogue was too much for me. It started out okay for the first few chapters then it got cringey. I forced myself to finish it and struggled to even manage to read a few pages a day. Maybe one day I’ll try another book by this author, but as of now, no thanks.
Can't believe it's over and I have no more of Nikki books to read. I only read on the train commute into work, (getting funny looks of other passengers, seeing my crying or laughing) but with Nikki's books I couldn't put them down. I loved hearing about Roman, the rock star books, no bra needed, and finally this book
Well this did what it promised on the cover, it made me smile. I really enjoyed this book staying up far too late to finish it, but it was well.worth it. I would definitely recommend and if I could give it more stars I would!
Loved this read, I was emotionally invested so have laughed, cried, felt angry and sexed up along with the characters as the story unfolded. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Enjoyable book and had a few twists that kept me interested. Loved the characters and great story line. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Looking for a book where the flow of the words suck you in and let you forget about the real world for a bit? Then look no further. Ms Ashton has a way with words that have you falling in love with her characters and fully immersed in their drama, their life decisions and their inner feelings. A one night stand and then fate playing its hand, bring the main characters in this intriguing and addictive storyline, together. Holly is struggling to keep her father’s hotel open when she meets Liam again, she tells herself that personal feelings have to be set aside especially as Liam's family’s hotel chain are looking to invest into the hotel. External forces are meddling and disaster after disaster occurs which causes grave concern to the survival of the business. The twists and turns had me consumed throughout and I totally swooned whenever Liam was on the page! I also really craving cheese tarts!! Together with the moments that brought tears to my eyes, both out of laughter or reacting to tragic events, this book definitely deserves 5 BIG STARS!
I Absolutely loved this book and I can't seem to find anything at all to fault it. The characters are brilliant and the story just flows from the pages and sucks you in. Taking you on a whirlwind journey of ups and downs. But never leaves you wanting.
Nikki Ashton seems to be be able to make you fall in love with what ever she writes, she combines tears, laughter and plenty of wit. She is one of my all time favourite authors and I just can't recommend this book and her writing enough
I was recommended the book by Dan hitchins (my brother) I loved it great story line and characters. Will definatley be reading more of Nikki's previous books.
