A wine country native, I moved to San Francisco for college just shy of a decade ago to pursue a lifelong interest in film. As I settled into the vibrant city, it quickly became apparent that, while I thought making and editing films was great fun, I lacked cinematic genius. For that reason, my career path quickly changed direction. My next goal was a strange childhood interest, conjured at the dining room table while filling out a form. For some reason, my young self wanted to be an Accountant. Thinking on it now, I wonder how I had any friends. Regardless, it was the direction I finally took.
While I could wrangle numbers with the best of 'em, and even though I wore the crown as the most outspoken, belligerent accountant in the world, my mind got as stuffy as my daily routine. It was here that I dusted off my creative hat and began writing.
I liked that there's no repeating of events that took place in book 1, I do think that it could've all been combined but that's my general feeling on a series that's split like this.....so Hunter accepts Olivia without his usual contract and they head off to get a deal to takeover a company. Hunter's utterly vile and horrible father is his competition on the deal and dear ole dad doesn't take it well when Olivia helps Hunter secure the deal. Hunter's old mask comes back into place and he ends things with Olivia and starts interviewing for new admins while she's in the office. She's a brokenhearted mess and eventually goes to look for her mom. Hunter follows and begs forgiveness and she takes him back. He finally admits that she's different and kisses her. When they go to his home we learn his fiancee actually lives with him and is in the process of conducting one of her sex parties. Thankfully Hunter admits that he's never been with her or wanted too......again an abrupt ending as we move on to the next book.
********** We finally find out why Hunter is the way he is, his first girlfriend who he loved was also having sex with his dad and the child she claimed was Hunter's,that he loved as his own, turned out to be his father's. Her deceit and he father's betrayal turned Hunter into a cold man WTH his business as his only focus
This was a quick read and I again enjoyed it, I didn't like that Olivia was so broken when Hunter ended things though. I wanted her to show him she was stronger than that and to make him grovel when he came back but alas it wasn't to be she was a crying hot mess and took him back in the blink of an eye. Nevertheless I actually enjoyed this for what it is.
Hunter's dad kissed Olivia but he's a douchebag and she in no way wanted it
Sexual commuter quotient: pack your spare undies, reader, and make sure you have packed your magnifying glasses on to read the microsized font you’re going to need to save you from insatiable fellow travellers humping your leg. Soundtrack: Love to Love https://youtu.be/UPXizlnS7go
This has to be close to my favourite workplace romance.
Our girl of the moment is completely likable and very much a contemporary, modern girl whilst our scrumptious boss man makes the grade for the distant, yet vulnerable and demanding, filthy rich (of course) model of unattainable lust.
This trilogy (I think) has made a great movement from the first novel, and I am totally in love with the pair of them. I consider that the other achievement of significance in this series is the true grasp Willow Summers has displayed for work practices and business acumen.
This is definitely a good light but impactful solid romance which leaves you wanting more with a fine dose of hot and steamy. Yep, a cold shower for all.
5 stars. I am enjoying this series, can't wait to read the next 2 books. The story is familiar but that's okay. It was an easy read with some characters. Can't wait to see how much Olivia holds her ground!
Book 2 in the Please Series by Willow Summers continues the story between Olivia Johnson and drop-dead-gorgeous, Hunter Carlisle.
In this, the second installment, we get to meet a couple of other characters … one’s the reader is sure to hate.
Hunter’s father, Rodge, is the main one. That is one character I wouldn’t have minded the author writing off in a horrible death. Especially when you find out exactly what he’s done to Hunter from a young age, and is the reason behind Hunter’s unorthodox interview and engagement process for an assistant. A no-strings-attached, no-emotions-involved, and a strict no-kissing clause contract.
The other is Blaire – the contracted fiancé - that woman certainly needs her come-uppance.
I absolutely love Brenda, Bert and Bruce. That there is a lot of B’s … lol. But you get to know each one of them more. And the more you get to know, the more you like them.
On to book three … can’t wait to see where that takes Hunter and Olivia.
WS. had penned the second Novel in the please series. Our starring couple take up where they left off. The magic is sill here , but the interference is building. She has been asked to sway another corporation owner into selling to her bo. Then his father gets involved, while still caring a lot of mistrust from his last marriage. He sends her away, but can't stay away. Thus is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
I friggin love this series! Now, Please was so good, I just couldn't put it down. There are a lot of twists and turns and some heartache too.
The concept of being an assistant to a powerful CEO with sex as part of the job description is super duper hot although in book 2, that wicked edge is replaced with a romantic tone. While I was initially absorbed in the series because of the erotic quality of that coveted job opening, I comfortably shifted into the love story because the H/h are totally compelling and the sub-characters are fascinating.
The sex is still steamy but there is a lot more going on in this installment. I savored every detail, from the fabulous make over before the big event to the tumultuous business trip that turned the story inside out. Now, please is a great second installment in this charming and engaging series.
This was a FSOG like book. The characters were okay. I thought Olivia was an okay character, but could have been more relatable. Also, I thought Hunter was great and I really liked getting to know more about his past. The storyline was better than the first as I got to see the characters open up more. The ending was good. Recommended for fans of FSOG. Overall, an okay read.
Great follow up to Yes Please. The story of Olivia and Hunter continues, and the characters continue to grow and evolve as does the story. We meet new characters, and find out more about why Hunter is the way he is. This was a book I couldn't put down, and I can't wait for the next one.
What a roller coaster that was! 😅 I'm enraptured by this story!
Hunter Carlisle and Olivia Jonston's story continues...
Liv is on cloud 9 after Hunter leaves the personal contract unsigned but wanting her nonetheless, she accompanies him on a business trip to try and woo the owner of a company and get him to sell to Hunter and not the other competitors vying for the company.
After the deal is pretty much sealed thanks to Livy's charming endearing personality, they have a night of making love and Hunter and Livy's relationship changes, but in a flashback moment when Hunter's father tries to force himself on Livy things change again and Hunter is cold and distant.
Upon their return home, Hunter tells Livy she's going to be replaced by a new admin and he begins interviewing for that person while Livy is still there, she's heart broken, but to her credit she stays firm, and when it all becomes too much she reruns to her mother's home, but Hunter chases her and they open up to each other.
I spent much of this book wanting to comfort Livy, her heartache at losing Hunter or being pushed away by him was so real, and raw, and by the end I was smiling and my heart singing with her, cheering her on. I must give credit where it's due... Ms Summers, your writing is amazing! The emotions you bring out through the eyes of Olivia is such a rare talent, you're a gifted writer and I'm glad i stumbled across these books! Hats off to you and thank you!
The entire series keeps getting better. I haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie was good enough for me. However, I can tell you this is a heartfelt series. I love the characters. The story spells out like a daytime soap opera.
By book 2 you will know if you choose to continue wanting to follow Hunter & Olivia.
Hunter is that Real Man we all long for and Olivia is no damsel in distress - gotta respect her for that strength.
The sex scenes gets much hotter in the second book and as in reality lust is replaced by love. Most of the. Comments in the third and fourth book complain about not enough sex scenes, but if you are reading for love then you can understand why the author begins to stray from sex and begins to build more on the characters.
K.F. Breene is one for my favorite authors when it comes to love, lust and power in any form. I was shocked that she created another series as Darkness and I was unaware. Now, I understand why - The Darkness series is more paranormal fiction, but so worth the read!
I was not happy with the second book in the series for the following reasons... 1. I paid $4 and did not realize how short this book turned out to be. I am sure it could have been combined with book 3. 2. There was some unrealistic type scenarios in here. I absolutely hated the mother's house situation. That was a stupid way to get the characters moving in my opinion. 3. I expect better from Willow Summers.
Even after this disappointing review. I am still paying for book 3 to continue the story because I am hoping for better. I know that book 3 is the same length and the same price now so hopefully that will help going into the next book.
Sex scenes were boring but I was surprised to see a titty f*ck! That's rare.
Now, Please is the second in this series. Olivia and Hunter grow even closer, which frightens the commitment phobe Hunter.
We have wonderful character growth in this book as both Olivia and Hunter face fears, their pasts, and the situations the have locked themselves into. The road forward promises to be filled with difficulty. Can what they've found in each other stand up to, survive, and even florish and grow in the face of all out assaults from all quarters.
This book did not lose any of the fire that the first had. Not since reading Adieu to Destiny by @TracyEllen have I felt such raw emotion. There were tears, sighs and oh happy days. Hunter's character is growing and not in a boring way. Olivia makes you feel every thing that is happening. The series has officially moved to my top 3 and I haven't even finished books 3 & 4 yet.
Second book just as good as the first. I loved Olivia in book one and she keeps up the fun in book two. Turmoil, money, per, sex, possibly even love, along with those steamy sex scenes cannot be beat. And Hunter, what do I say about him? Sex on a stick word be a good start. A man with a past and raw emotion waiting to be unleashed! Loving the series- on to book three!
Second in the Please series. The H did some back sliding but it wasn't dragged out to the point of being stupid. You find out what happened with his Dad and a new even more dangerous (to the h) protagonist is introduced. All in all a good read and looking forward to the next one though I suspect it's is going to have a lot more angst with this new protagonist. Just hope the H doesn't get stupid.
Hunter Carlisle is a powerful CEO with needs. Needs he kept satisfied with his admin on a weekly basis. Then here came Olivia... In book two, the pair struggle with boundaries and defining their relationship, whatever it may be. Olivia learns about the pain in his past and just when I started to worry that Hunter might be an absolute fool, my worries were abolished. Fun read!
I "read" this book on audible. I really like Kristen Leigh as a narrator, she's really amazing with the different voices which makes for a great listening experience.
I enjoyed this story, it really affected me. It has love, lust, anger, passion and intrigue. It ends on a good note but there is still much to learn and some unresolved story lines. Looking forward to the next!
The continues love story of Hunter and Olivia. Olivia meet Hunter"s father. He goes after her and the deal Hunter wants to make. Hit father wants everything Hunter has or wants. Can Hunter win or will his father win again? Great story for the beach.
This is a very quick and erotic read. The sex is good and I like that Olivia takes charge in the bedroom. I loved the merger plot. What I didn't love was hunters father of the plot that surrounded it. Complete with the obligatory I can't be with you break up and now I must find a replacement plot line. It's so trite and cliche that I literally rolled my eyes when I got to that part,
Loved Bruce and Brenda and Bert. But I'll beginning to thing the author has a b name fetish... Even hunters fiancée has a b name.
In all this is good mostly brainless smut and if that's what you're looking for this delivers.
Lust, Love, Heartache, and hope all in one package
This amazing series continues with book 2 which picks up right where the first ended. Book 2 is filled with even more hotness and plenty of tension! The characters are so amazing and continue to become more loveable as the series goes on. I cannot wait to disappear into book 3!
The narration was yet again perfection. Kirsten is amazing!
Underwhelming novel that didn't have much of a plot. Basically the characters spent the entire time in the bedroom and there was no conflict to make them more endearing. I was hoping that this would be a bit more interesting but the second novel was worse than the first. I won't be reading the third in the series.
To take up space within the heart of another, with an unmovable force they cannot deny, is a powerful position to hold. That's exactly what happens to Hunter as he continues his struggle as he tries to fight against his own desires. It's become very amusing to watch.
He let her go but couldn't stand to give her up because of his fears. The perfect trip to get connected to the potential client is a winn until Hunters father intervened and tried to push himself on to Livy. Hunter disconnects and pushed her away but cant abide his own rules with her.
I really like this story. I think it's a cute, quick, and easy read. My only issue with this book was how fast Olivia forgives Hunter. Like, He just emotionally destroyed you, please make him grovel at least a little bit? She kind of comes off as a pushover with how quickly she forgives.
It's getting good between Hunter and Livy. It's the dawning of liberation and they ain't no going back. Livy is becoming more confident and Hunter is chipping down that wall. Great read and looking forward to number 3.
