Vampires were all alike. 5 GOLD PALADINS

You either dusted them or became food. Every vampire is evil, right? Good and evil, light and dark… the world is meant to have a balance. Prepare to devote your mind, body, and soul, Seven. WOWOHWOWOHWOW!! I have to admit that I was super excited to read this series of Vivian's right up to the beginning where it said "This is the personal account of Agent Seven’s training in her own words..." However.. WHOLEY MOLEY DUSTIN' VAMPIRES! This story told in first person drew me in so fast it was crazy!! COMPLETELY VAMPTABULOUS!! Vivian has completely blown me away with this story! I love the originality of it. I love the creativity of EVERYTHING! From the way the stories are told, parts of it are told in this very personal narrative way that drew me in like nothing else! The different supernaturals, their histories, how they are "dealt" with. The Agency and how it all works, its history.. I could go on & on & on, but I won't! I don't want to deprive you from reading & discovering everything for yourself! I assure you it's totally worth it!! I didn't really know much going into this series other than Vampires were involved, it's a spin-off of the Children of Ossiria series (which Vivian assured me that I didn't really need to read that one first) and of course the most obvious - that it is a Vivian Lane book!! What more do I need to know?!? ;) Actually, that last point is truly all I needed to convince me to read this set!! ;) And yes, I will admit it. I love, Love, ABSO-FANGIN’-LUTELY LOVE how it is written!! Vivian certainly knows what she's doing and I have NEVER been happier to admit that I was wrong and I am soooo overjoyed I gave the book a chance! In fact I think I finished this in record time, I was THAT in to it!!! WHAT A TRULY MAGNIFISEVEN SERIES!!!! I CANNOT wait for more! The storylines, the characters, the situations, just ALL OF IT are just so AGENTACULAR, so PALADINTASTIC, so WONDELLAFUL that I cannot even begin to explain it, to define it all even! Trying to not give ANYTHING away, but yet convey my love at the same time is a bit hard to do! :0 The different approach that Vivian took to telling these stories is the exact same reason that they stand out from the crowd! I have read a lot of books in my time, mostly paranormal, in fact I read more than 300 last year alone!, so I feel safe in saying that I am well “educated” in paranormal books, but I have NEVER read any quite like The Strange Allies series and that is The Best Compliment I could ever give! Reading a first-hand account of Della and how she became who she is now, not only lets you get inside the characters head, you BECOME her, training with her, learning it all as Della does, seeing her, BEING her as she transforms into Agent Seven is pure genius on Vivian’s part!!! I honestly was so captivated that even though I was super tired and had a migraine, I couldn’t put down the book until I was done! I set it up, had it already to read after I slept, except… I started reading! It truly is THAT SEVENTACULAR!!! But then to continue that story in Strange Allies, where I was STILL living as Agent Seven, or Seven as her “friends” call her, as well as getting to be Adam… the fear I experienced as I was, I mean as Seven was… well.. you will just have to read it for yourself, but the point is that I felt like I LIVED and EXPERIENCED these books as both Della/Seven and Adam, and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!! But then for Vivian to switch it up for Saving Charlotte! WOW! I actually didn’t even notice the difference at first, but I am glad that this one was not told in first person! I had a hard enough time as it is trying to put some space between me & the story because of Vivian's author magic, and some of this wasn't something I wanted to really live! Might shatter my love/hope/belief in... well you will see what I mean when you read it! (here’s a hint – I LOVE VAMPIRES!) Honestly, there just isn’t enough words to convey my love for these characters, the thrill at reading it all, the way you really get inside the characters heads, the way that Vivian describes everything that has it blossoming to life in my mind’s eye, adds more depth and enriches the stories even more than they already are! I have a feeling, a hunch, heck, call it my "reader's intuition", but I think that between Strange Allies and Saving Charlotte, Vivian is setting us up for one PALADINTACULAR of a storyline twist unlike no other that is going to ABSO-BEEPING-LUTELY blow my mind when all is revealed!! With her phenomenal talent and truly exceptional storytelling gift, Vivian has done way more than "just" caught my attention! My Queen has me completely, wholly and utterly enthralled - mind, body, spirit, blood and soul deep!! (I have also done a short review for each of the individual books as well.)
