Senior citizens and full-time RVers, Rip and Rapella Ripple are spending the holidays with daughter Regina, in their hometown of Rockport, TX. When Regina's new husband, Milo Moore, becomes a suspect in an off-shore harpooning homicide, the Ripples set out to exonerate him.
But proving Milo didn't harpoon his best friend and business partner, Cooper Claypool--with Claypool's spear-gun while out poaching red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico--is more challenging than the Ripples anticipated.

"Jeanne Glidewell's mysteries are fast-paced, complex - and have just the right hint of romance." Jill Churchill, author of the Jane Jeffry and Grace and Favor mystery series.

Jeanne Glidewell, a 2006 pancreas and kidney transplant recipient, and her husband, Bob, reside in the quaint little coastal town of Rockport, Texas. They previously owned a large RV Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 12 years, which gave Jeanne the idea for the Ripple Effect series. Her main characters, Rip and Rapella Ripple, are full-time RVers, with Rapella solving murder mysteries along the way in their travels. Her other (and first) cozy mystery series, the Lexie Starr mysteries, involves a 50-year old library assistant who meets and marries an east coast jeweler named Stone Van Patten. Together they renovate a historic Victorian mansion and turn it into the Alexandria Inn in the fictional town of Rockdale, Missouri. Lexie can’t help getting involved in murder cases taking place in and around the B&B.

All of Jeanne's novels - a romance suspense novel titled Soul Survivor; 7 books and 1 holiday novella in her Lexie Starr series; and 7 books in her Ripple Effect series - are available at nearly every eRetailer site in both eBook and paperback formats. "The Spirit of the Season" is a holiday novella (short novel) she wrote to benefit her local chapter of the Toys for Tots program, with all her proceeds going to help children in her (Leavenworth) county have a merrier Christmas. Jeanne appreciates your support in this endeavor.
Jeanne’s next release, book 8 in the Ripple Effect series, titled The Grim Ripper, is expected to hit bookstores in May 2023.

I received this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for an honest review. I am ready to go fishing with these characters! I absolutely love this series. I laughed, snorted, and giggled through each chapter. Such a great bunch of characters to get to know and I will certainly read more from this cozy series. Not to mention I will recommend to my friends. Very well done!

In Texas for the holidays and to visit their daughter and her new husband tragedy strikes close to home for Rapella and Rip. Milo their new son in law is under suspicion for the murder of his best friend and business partner. Unable to let the couple hang out to dry Rapella eagerly and Rip somewhat reluctantly decide to investigate the murder. There’s quite a cast of characters surrounding this case and the Ripples have their hands full trying to get to the bottom of the it. However nothing will stop them from helping their family in a time of need.
Generally speaking this is an enjoyable cozy mystery. It drags a bit in the middle but not so much that I stopped reading. That being said I have mixed feelings about the story and the series. On the one hand this is a very interesting and surprising mystery. It definitely keeps you guessing. I would never have predicted the ending, a great trait of a mystery. On the other hand I’m not sure how much I like the characters and I’m a very character driven reader. Rapella is forthright on the verge of brash and annoying. There is always a bit of fibbing when you have an amateur sleuth as your main character however she never thinks things through and she comes up with the most ridiculous lies it’s mind boggling to think they’re plausible. So I’m a bit torn as to whether or not I’ll continue with the series.

While visiting their daughter and her husband, their daughters. husband is
arrested for murdering his business partner. Now the Ripples have to go
out searching clues down to prove his innocence. Join the crazy ride, when
all a guy wants to do is kick back, drink a little beer, and fish. Oh well so much
for a vacation. A great read.

In deciding to visit their daughter and her husband (and escape the cold) Rip and Rappella are thrown into another murder mystery. The worst of the situation is that Milo is the prime suspect. Can they keep their son in law out of the slammer?

Murder or not

A whirl wind mystery with a lot of eccentric but interesting characters. Ones
that have a lot if bizarre personalities. Rapella and RIP go wade fishing with
their son in law Milow, when Coopers body is found floating face down by
them while fishing. Now the case is on, intense to the max, because Cooper
is Milows partner. Who now knows what it feels like to be on the perverible hook. Now they have to find the real killer and his reason for killing Cooper. Can
they find the truth behind coopers death, or is a innocent mannamely Milow
going up the river for murder. Another great read by Jeanne Glidewell, and can't
wait to read the third mystery in this series. Her Lexie Star mystery's are a great
read also. I really like both of her cozy murder mysteries.

Former sheriff “Rip” Ripple and his wife Rapella have brought their RV camper, the “Chartreuse Caboose”, back to their hometown of Rockport Texas to visit with their daughter Regina and her husband Milo. When Milo is suspected of killing his business partner with a spear-gun, Rip and Rapella do whatever it takes to prove him innocent. Rapella’s penchant to speak before she thinks lands her in several hilarious situations. But no one is laughing at the aging couple when Rip and Rapella solve the case. Glidewell has seamlessly blended suspense with many rib-tickling, laugh-out-loud moments. A delightful and fun read.

Jeannie pleases again

The characters are great and the plots are fun to try solve. The family dynamics are hilarious and Regina is a typical "me, me, me" child.
