Chapter One...

What happens when you don’t know what comes next?

Jacob Wild has had a lucrative writing career, but somewhere along the way he misplaced his muse. Now, unable to put anything on paper, he’s resorted to hanging out in the neighborhood coffee shop with a pen and paper, trying to find something to spark his creativity again.

That’s when he meets her.

Presley Abrams.

The coral-haired, tattooed beauty with the piercing gray eyes and sweet smile draws his attention in a way no woman before her ever has. Jake soon learns that when he’s around her his world is set to rights once more. Presley sparks something inside him and not just his ability to put words on paper.

But, Presley’s not the easiest woman to get close to and Jake finds himself trying to answer the burning question:

What do you get when a famous writer and a walking Ink display collide. A unique masterpiece of art and creativity, that's what! Inked on Paper is a name that's has become synonymous with both characters, Jake and Presley. A meshing of art, hindered by tragedy, lost in the day to day, yearning for that taste of creativity again, yet falling short.

Renowned novelist Jacob Wild and popular tattoo artist Presley Abrams, have both lost their creativity due to past tragedies. Both are now looking for something; anything; that will inspire their creativity. Finding each other was a dash of faith, mixed with an intensely erotic and seductive orgy. Yet, with their by chance meeting, with the flicker of interest by both parties, neither come together immediately.

Their initial meeting sparks an intrigue between the two, which slowly pulls Jake out of his creative stupor. He starts his book with 'Chapter One.' Jake has found his muse. While, Presley starts to read the notorious novelist with sex scenes to die for. She too, finds her muse within Jacob and the stories he writes.

What I loved was the content and the intent of Inked on Paper. While there are some intimate scenes, the story is about creativity and the search for inspiration. Love, is without a doubt an underlying theme within the book, yet we see, other much stronger themes coming to the forefront.

The pairing of two vastly different characters was well portrayed and uniquely set the pace and scenes for the story to unfold. Presley is a coral haired, pierced and tatted sweetheart, with a guarded heart and a soul of gold. While Jacob can be described as a Abercrombie model.

My hiccups with this book was simply that I found the story dragged a little too long. While I understand for the characters the book needed to be paced and set for impact and realistically it did generally, I still felt it was too long, and this impacted the enormity of my reading.

All in all, it was a lovely read and I would recommend this book to others.

Loved the premise of this story. The H and h find their muse in each other and we also get to read the story the H was working on throughout the book. Loved that the h was fun, had tons of tattoos & piercings, pink hair.
The H wasn't as likable for me...h first sees him at her apartment watching her roommates in an orgy (ick), there are several mentions of his past conquests and a partially detailed sex scene with OW.
Wasn't a fan of how the main conflict was resolved at the end either.

I absolutely adored this book! And what's really fun and unique about this book is that you basically get a two for one!

Jacob Wild is a famous New York Times Bestselling Author who writes books that will melt your panties off. Since moving back to Austin a year ago to help his sister and niece, Jacob has had some serious writer's block. With a deadline fast approaching and all he has written down is...Chapter One. He's screwed. That is until he sees her.

Presley Abrams, his next door neighbor and the woman who takes his breath away. She's the muse he's been missing. Everything time he spends any time with her, the words suddenly appear. She could be a game changer. The thing is that Presley has her own set of creative block, which isn't best for a tattoo artist.

There chemistry is off the charts! Presley has been burned before and Jake knows that he has a past that may scare her away.

I really was sucked into the story line. Presley and Jake together are sweet and sexy yet burning hot together too.

You get to see the process of writing a book and follow not one but two story lines - making this a complex yet enjoyable book.

You can never go wrong with a book from Nicole!

WOW...This was so different from all the other books I have read by Nicole Edwards. I enjoyed this story and how great the characters are, Jacob the Erotic book writer and Presley the Tattoo Artists. Both characters have their issues and find inspiration in each other. Not sure how I felt about the story within a story but it made sense for this book.

When I started this book I was immediately engrossed. The plot is very unique and different from anything I ever really read before. This page turner is intriguing and gripping.

Jake and Presley are stuck within their respective careers. Jake having writers block and Presley’s artistic creativity has hit a wall. Presley is a little bit jaded and not interested in being in another relationship with anyone who has any kind of fame. She’s been hurt and has no plans to ever go there again. Jake too is jaded where relationships are concerned, but for very different reasons. Everything changes for them when their paths cross one day in a coffee shop.

Creative juices star to flow while sparks start to fly. And boy oh boy do they ever fly. If you’ve read anything by this author before you know this woman can write some pretty hot sex scenes. Well let me tell you this book is no different.

Now what was absolutely unexpected in this book is that within this story line Nicole has treated us to something that I’ve never seen before. A story within Story. I LOVE how we get to see the process a writer may take while creating a story. The thinking, the planning, pretty much the personal journey that is taken while creating the next great thing. It was pretty amazing to watch how the characters came to life though Jake while he was writing his story. I loved how much the characters become so real for him. I could totally see how an author would give everything over to their characters while they spoke to them.

Nicole really has done an amazing job writing this story the way she did. As a reader I really felt like Jake was the actual author and what he was writing was the part that was fiction. Jake and Presley became real people through the clear picture that was being painted. I really loved the added bonus we got at the end of the book.

This is definitely not a book fans of Nicole’s will want to pass up on.

5 Star Review Inked on Paper by Nicole Edwards

Audio Review:

This was such an unusual story, a story within a story that had me intrigued as soon as I read the blurb.

This was an exciting book to read and I was fully invested from the first to the last chapter.

Jacob Wild is a writer suffering from writer’s block. With no end in sight he hangs out at a local cafe in the hopes that his creative juices will be lock started.

Presley Abrams, a tattooed tattoo artist is the woman who catches his eye. Thanks to a cheating ex Presley too is suffering from the same. With a deadline looming she is concerned that she won’t have an entry ready for an art contest.

The slow build in their relationship only adds to the enjoyment. Their scenes together were scorching, if only their level of communication out of the bedroom was just as good.

Watching Jacob and Presley inspire each other was heart warming.

The narration was great and enhanced my enjoyment of this story.

I'm a high school English, so writer's block, artistic muses, and the whole process of writing are all the nerdy things I adore to discuss and read about, and Nicole Edwards does a fantastic job of crafting a story and the process of writing it within her own text, seamlessly flowing the two stories together and exploring the idea of art and reality imitating one another with ease.

When I was at only 30% of Inked On Paper, I was completely absorbed into the interesting and unique story line that Edwards crafted. A book within a book is arduous task because the author has to ensure that the readers don’t misconstrue one group of characters for the other or lose interest in one aspect because too much time has been given to another part. I never had an issue following both Jake and Presley’s story and the fictitious love affair of Donovan and Kora, and one of the main reasons is due to Jake, subconsciously, drawing on material from his and Presley’s life, both individually and as two people highly attracted to each other.

I’ve always wondered what process fiction writers go through in order to deliver a worthwhile story, one that will appeal to the masses as well as showcase the writer’s ability to show instead of tell and create characters who readers can connect to and find likable enough to immerse themselves in that particular story compared to the thousands of others that are out there. Nicole Edwards gives me that insight through Jake’s struggle to write his next best seller and the external situations that aren't enabling him to write anything worth publishing in over a year.

Another artistic arena that Edwards discusses in Inked on Paper is sketching and painting, which is where Presley Abrams finds her passion. But her gift has been in pause about the same amount of time as Jake’s writing, and as they both search for their inspiration and struggle to get their “mojo” back, they find themselves writing their own real life story - one that makes Jake rethink his past ways and forces Presley to try to figure out if she still doesn’t believe in happily ever after or the fact that reality can’t be anything like fiction.

Unexpected - that’s exactly the word that I would use to describe Nicole Edwards’ newest release as well as creative and entertaining. I love how different it is from Edwards’ other releases and I’m also glad that it’s a standalone because I didn’t want to have to wait to see how Jake ended his new book and what he did with the new story he was writing in real life.

I adore Nicole Edwards’ stories and characters; there’s nothing like losing myself in one of her worlds, whether it’s with the Walker alpha males, her cowboys, or her Mafia members and Private Investigator Security badasses. Edwards has something for every kind of reader, which is exactly why she’s one of my go to authors!

ARC received from author for an honest review - thank you!

A new Nicole Edwards book is like Christmas every day, and I couldn't wait to dive in.

It has been a while since we had a standalone story, and whilst I love her series, sometimes a good stand alone is what we all need.

And that is what we got with Inked On Paper.

Jacob Wild, romance writer with writer's block. Presley Abrams, tattoo artist extraordinaire with a closed off heart.

So completely different, but opposites do attract.

Presley (LOVE her name and the reason for it) - I adore her. I could understand why she felt like she did, but at times I wanted to shake some damn sense into her.

Jake really was just what she needed, when she needed it. I adored his persistence in breaking down those walls - though at times I don't know why he kept at at!

I loved - mostly - Presley's room mates, her best friend Gavin and Gil. Though at times I wanted to nut punch them for the way they acted in the house they all shared. Some of the things they did I found pretty disrespectful and and just.... nope, can't find the words for it.

There was also one scene with Gavin, Gil and Jake that I was thinking "WTH are you doing there???" It just made me dislike them all for a little while - and you know know what I am talking about when you get to it.

But Jake and Presley finding their muses and finding love (or do they??) along the way had me not wanting to put the book down. I enjoyed the "book within a book" too! You have to keep reading after the epilogue!

nked on Paper was such a fun read. I loved the feel to the story. It has a totally different vibe from the books that I’ve read by Nicole Edwards. That being said, you can still count on Nicole Edwards to provide you with lots of sexy, steamy good times.

Inked on Paper follows the story of Jake and Presley. Jake is a famous writer who was pretty much on top of the world until a family situation forced him to return home. While he was able to sort things out back home and make a new life there for himself, somewhere along the way, he lost his creativity. He had writers block to the max. No matter what he tried, he just couldn’t find the words to create book magic. That is until he meets his new neighbor, Presley. From the moment he sees Presley, he is completely captivated by her. From her eccentric hair, piercings and tattoos, Jake can’t get her out of his mind. And it’s those thoughts that give Jake inspiration to write again. Presley has unknowingly become his muse. And the more time Jake spends around Presley, the harder it is to fight his undeniable attraction to her. But, getting close to Presley is anything but easy. Presley has been burned in the past and her walls are up high. Will Jake be able to break down Presley’s walls and show her how amazing real love can be??

Inked on Paper was a fun read for me. I loved the idea of this story. It pulled me in from the very first page. I loved the chemistry between Jake and Presley. I thought they shared a scorching connection and I couldn’t get enough of the two of them together. I was intrigued by Presley and wanted to know more about her. I thought her roommates were very entertaining and just couldn’t help but laugh at their antics. I was constantly shaking my head at them. I really enjoyed being inside Jake’s head. It was really interesting getting a writers prospective on things and the whole writing process.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I found it be a really entertaining read. This story was fun and sexy. I loved the characters and their story. I loved that this story didn’t have a whole lot of drama. Inked on Paper is an exciting new stand-alone from Nicole Edwards. Even though I do know this is a stand-alone, there are a few characters that have caught my interest and I have to say, I wouldn’t be disappointed to read more about these characters.

This is a standalone read from one of my favourite authors and I knew we would be in for some steamy passion.

Jacob Wild is a celebrity writer and is now back in his home town to support his sister and niece. After an esteemed career of pushing out hit after hit of hot romance to his readers, he finds himself at a bit of a stalwart and a serious case of writers block. That is until he meet the beautiful woman with the pink hair and showing some serious ink. After he keeps bumping into her such as at the local coffee shop he finds his attraction to her growing but also that his writers block is gradually being kicked down and his creative juices start to flow. Could Presley be his muse?

Presley Abrams is coming out of grieving for her dearly loved Dad and after a disastrous affair with her best friend’s brother, she is loath to put herself out there again. She is happy running her tattoo shop and creating her art but lately her creativity is at a standstill. She meets Jacob and he inspires her to start taking pencil to paper again.

This was an interesting storyline and kind of like two books for the price of one, a book within a book. It flows with the gradual romance that evolves between Jake and Presley but also we get to see the story ‘Unexpected’ that Jacob is writing. Whilst the book is being written, Jake finds himself putting his feelings for his relationship with Presley through the characters he creates. It helps him to understand Presley and his own thought process at the same time which results in revealing his true feelings for her.

I really enjoyed this book and instantly liked both Jacob and Presley. I liked that she was different to the usual female lead, she was a bit off the wall and unique. As for Jacob, he was an instant sex god from the start! The chemistry and sensuality was oozing off the pages. It actually made me become one of his fans and I totally got how he was ‘fangirled’ to distraction.

The secondary characters were an added bonus to the story and Gil was a total man whore! I can feel another story there plus Presley’s best friends Gavin and Blaze who hook up.

Overall a good flow of story, a few bits could have been pared down but I would definitely recommend and would like to read more, especially Gil! Four stars.

Yet another amazing book by Nicole Edwards. Different from her others but none the less brilliant. Jake was a writer he was in serious writers block mode and could not find any inspiration at all to write his nest book. Presley is a tattoo artist also in a funk with her creating.

Once the two of them meet the sparks fly and the inspiration returns for both of them. Presley had to fight through all of this she wanted to know was Jakes interest purely sexual and only because she was his muse or was there more to it. She had been the rock star route so to speak and it did end well.

You get the see the writing and creating of a book through Jake's eyes where the real like inspiration spill over into the book. There are really two stories in one an I enjoyed every word.I do not want to put spoilers in here so you will have to read to find out all the fun filled things that happen in this book. There is heartache sure but I have to say I found so much Joy and fun in this book. I absolutely love Jake.
Bonus at the end you get to see Jake's completed book Inked on Paper. Two books in one written by such a talented Author you can't go wrong there.

The book is a stand alone but wow there are more stores in there from other characters I would love to see written and get more of Jake and Presley.

I went into this book with high expectations, because every title I've read from Nicole I have absolutely loved. And while I really liked this book, I feel like I could have loved it had it been about 300 pages shorter. I know, I'm shocked too that those words just came out of my mouth! I loved the characters and really connected with them, but I still found myself skimming way too often. The premise of the story was very unique and I even loved all the side characters. I felt like they really gave the book substance. But there was never really any angst, or suspense, or even conflict when there was definitely opportunities to do so. And while I don't think a book necessarily has to be full of those qualities, every good love story has conflict and I just really missed it here.

That being said, I did love the slower build between Jacob and Presley. I'm all for instalove, but I loved this scenario as well. I think for the integrity of the characters, it was what they needed. Since I love this author's writings, I was instantly invested in the character's lives. I loved the strength and vulnerability that they both openly displayed. All in all, this was a perfectly lovely contemporary romance book and one of the most realistic ones I've read. I would definitely recommend it!

Two souls who lost their creativity due to personal traumas. Jake is a famous writer who lost his muse when he needed to focus on his family instead of his writing. Presley is a tattoo artist who knows her stuff, just her originals aren't coming to her after loss.

The two come together and learn love is the best muse.

This is a book within a book. Brilliant!!! Two awsome reads in one!

I love the inside look at how a writer goes through his/her process while writing. It was definitely eye opening how some get into their books and how much of themselves and their experiences.

But the added bonus, is the book at the end of Inked on Paper...... You get a final "published" copy of the book Jake wrote. Loved reading the additions and the changes. I am a beta reader as well as a reviewer and it always blows me away at how things change from first draft, to final.

A wonderful stand-alone book, but I wouldn't mind a book about Gil and Josie. There is a story there. Blue too!!!

I am a massive fan of Nicole Edwards and I've read all of her books, some more than once, so I was eager to get my hands on her latest offering. However, I find myself very disappointed with it. It was well written but I didn't really connect with the characters nor did I feel any strong chemistry between them which is very unusual for Nicole's work. Out of all of her books this is my least favourite and I never thought I'd feel this way about an NE book. I hope that I don't feel this disappointed with one of her books ever again.

I loved that Nicole wrote a story about a writer weaving his own story both on the page and in his life. To have Jake struggling with writer's block until he met his muse Presley who was having a hard time blocked with her art as well. Both were weary of what was happening between them, but couldn't stay away from each other. I loved the chemistry they shared. Sizzling. I also enjoyed Jake's story which was also very hot. Even more than that this story was about two people not prepared at all for each other and opening their hearts. I really enjoyed it.

I give Inked On Paper 4 hearts!

This was a little bit different than Nicole's typical norm. I was somewhat worried going into this knowing the main H is an author so I automatically made the stereotype that he wasn't going to be alpha enough for me. Let me tell you, there is no need to worry about that! You still get everything you know and love about NE including a hot, dominant guy, incredible sex and yes, we're still in Texas. :) So if you melt in your panties every time you read something by Nicole, go ahead and snag this one up now. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Audiobook Review: Inked on Paper by Nicole Edwards (Author), Tor Thom (Narrator), Charley Ongel (Narrator)

Inked on Paper is a thing of beauty. Jacob and Presley are two lost hearts looking for a way to be whole. Edwards entrances a style that is almost musical, while Thom and Ongel turn her lyrical words into a message of the heart. The melody that drives this love song will continue to haunt beyond the last page.

I opened this safe in the knowledge that my heart was safe in Nicole’s hands. I had an element of trepidation flitting around me as I hunkered down for the duration but that is only because I get so excited at what I will find.
So what did I find without giving anything away and spoiling your fun?
Well this was a touch lighter in my opinion, more romantic, handled with the sensitivity that only this author would have ever been able to bestow upon them and leave my heart and theirs intact.
Life dictated Jake Wild’s situation and while he wasn’t complaining he was where he and his family needed him to be, he was suffering and so was his craft. Deadlines were looming but when you hit the wall, finding your way around it is not an easy task.
Jake‘s writers block wasn’t just a fleeting it was beginning to take root. His character bank was well and truly empty and finding inspiration was leaving him redundant – what the heck is a man to do when his focus becomes diverted – well for Jake it was cleaning and coffee!!!
Presley on the other hand if fighting her own void – this talented woman, has suffered from not only the loss of her father but the betrayal of a man that was never good enough for her. She may be better off without him but that doesn’t mean that her artistic juices are flowing any faster, quite the opposite.
So can two people, so creative and yet struggling to regain their purpose be the flame for each other’s fire?
Will they inspire each other or will their opportunity pass them by?
I enjoyed the book, I loved the setting, the descriptive tones and the private musings, they are cleverly constructive but yet amusingly informative.
I adored Presley’s roommates, although I am not sure she did much of the time, how she kept her frustrations to herself I will never know.
I adored the fact Presley and Jake were so close in many ways but yet so far , that the author gave then the chance to show and tell so to speak, like a proper relationship to test the waters, to see what worked and what didn’t and to make their decisions based on solid a solid footing.
I would love to hear more about this pair but as the book came to a close I was left satisfied that if this is the end of their story, Nicole did them justice.
Would I recommend this – you bet your ass I would!

Deb’s Review
Inked on Paper
Nicole Edwards
✰✰✰✰✰

Presley is a tattoo artist with a block and she hasn’t drawn anything in a year.

Jacob Wild is an author with writer's block.

The two meet in a coffee shop and the chemistry is instant, but Presley has been hurt in the past and she isn’t looking for anything even close to a relationship, no matter how sexy Jacob is. She doesn’t believe in love or happily ever after’s.

Jacob’s writers block started because of a family tragedy, he has a dead line quickly approaching and his editor is on him to get it together. When he meets Presley he’s immediately drawn to her. What he doesn’t know is that she is his next door neighbor.

While out with friends Jacob and Presley find that they have a mutual friend and they are properly introduced. Things get hot and heavy between them and it ends in Jacob taking Presley back to his condo and having hot, steamy, toe curling sex with her. However Presley takes off without Jacob knowing.

Now, both have been inspired and as Jacob begins to write his next book, Presley is next door reading one of his books and she begins drawing again.

One thing that hasn’t happened though is that neither can stop thinking about the other and Jacob sets out to find Presley, the woman who he believes is his muse.

Jacob and Presley’s story is a journey that starts out with a chance encounter and something that most people never get to experience, it’s the instant connection with person who is the other half of your soul. But in order to find that happily ever after there has to be more than just an attraction, there needs to be trust and the desire to want to open yourself up and let someone in.

Jacob and Presley were as real to me as if we were friends and I was right there experiencing everything with them. Even when I had to put the book down to do something I couldn’t stop thinking about, wondering “what happens next.” Plus this book has an added bonus story in the story and I loved that! This is a book I would love to see made into a movie!

I have read all of Nicole's books. I love them all for different reasons, but they have many things in common. They are wonderfully written, have strong lead characters and have different and intriguing story lines. Inked on Paper is just a little different. She gives us a unique story line where Jake, the male lead, is a writer and he's writing a book. A book within a book. It's genius! Jake has writer's block. Badly. He decides to push away the computer and use an actual pen and notebook. Finding himself at the local coffee shop, not writing, he meets Presley. A beautiful, tattoo artist who has lost her creative spark. She's resorted to playing tic tac toe. With herself. They don't realize how much they have in common when they first meet, but it becomes apparent that they are both looking for inspiration and find their missing muse in each other. Jake is out of his comfort zone with how much he wants Presley and that's he's not scared about it. Presley is used to pushing people away, but she's drawn to Jake. Is he just using her so he can write? Will Presley let her guard down before she loses the best man she's ever met? I loved these characters. Jake is sexy, smart, witty, and honest. Presley is tough, sexy, and talented. When these two creative minds come together it's explosive! Nicole keeps surprising me with new, fresh ideas and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

The moment I touched her, I felt and electrical current start in my fingers, winding through my body until it stopped somewhere dangerously close to my groin.

"I want to kiss you, Presley. So fucking bad."
Oh Lord.

He was eye candy. A visual feast for the senses. From his broad shoulders to his well-defined chest, narrow waits, rippling abs, powerful thighs, and mmm, that incredible ass.

Inked on Paper is a bit of a unique story. Jake is an author who has lost his writing mojo, so as he periodically catches glimpses of his elusive muse, we are treated to reading the chapters of his novel as they are being written all while his own personal story unfolds on the pages around it.

Talented tattoo artist Presley can certainly empathize with her sexy neighbor's dilemma. Ever since she walked in on her cheating ex-boyfriend with another chick in their bed a year ago, her muse has deserted her as well. Now the deadline to enter a lucrative art contest is looming and she is losing hope that inspiration will strike in time to submit her work.

Jake and Presley have a few passing encounters that leave them each intrigued by the other but not really acting on it. There was definitely a slow build to a relationship between them, but once they got started things heated up quickly! Like all of Nicole's books, the intimate scenes in Inked on Paper will leave you fanning yourself! Unfortunately their communication skills on anything other than a physical level are lacking which complicates matters. Both are thrilled to find inspiration in the other but wonder if that is all they are to each other despite the connection that radiates between them. Rather than talking about it, Presley falls into her habit of withdrawing emotionally and self-sabotages their relationship while Jake pulls the brooding man card. Ugh!

Although this book is not quite as hot as some of the author's works, I still found it to be an enjoyable read with engaging characters. And in case you were wondering, Jake's completed book is included at the end of the story for your enjoyment.

This was essentially a book inside a book!! I have to say I signed up to review this book before I read the synopsis but I love Nicole's work so I was excited. When I did get round to reading the synopsis I was on the fence about wether I would enjoy it or not and I put off reading it. I have to admit though I'm sorry I put it off, I absolutely loved this story.

I was kind of irked at Presley at times throughout this book, she irritated me a little and I was shouting at her in my head while reading this story.

Jake was a great character, I felt an instant connection to him and I was rooting for him to finish his book so I could get to read it.

Like I said above I love Nicole Edwards books, she captivates me from the very first word and keeps me gripped in her clutches throughout.

This book feels like we got 2 for 1 since we get to read about Kora and Donovan also. I loved their story and was waiting on tenterhooks to see where it took us. I have to say I would have liked a little more in the epilogue just to see what's said by their families other than that I thought it was flawless!

Nicole's characters are always so well developed and this book was no exception. I loved Blaze, Gavin, Gill, Josie, Paige and Abby. They all brought something special to this book.

I can't wait to see what Nicole has in store for us next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Amazing Stars

*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*

I absolutely love this book by Nicole Edwards! I have read her Club Destiny series and the Walker Brother's series and I love her writing. This book is somewhat different from those styles. This book is sweeter, yet still has the amazing sex we love from Nicole.

Jake is a sexy, shy writer and he writes romance novels! Hello! Swoon on the spot! He has become a famous writer but as of lately he can't think up his next book. Presley is a beautiful pink haired, tattooed artist. She does tats as well as drawings, and she has lost her inspiration lately as well. So, when these two meet in a coffee shop one day, Jake is instantly mesmerized by Presley and after a couple of meetings starts to get his muse. I won't give anything else away, but I'm sure you can tell where this leads. This is a beautiful love story and I really loved the idea of the book. Jake is writing his book through the story and it's very interesting to see from the writers perspective. Especially a hot writer like Jake!

I definitely ended 2015 on a high note. Well in the literary sense anyway. As with every other Nicole Edwards book, I am like a toddler on crack when I see her name pop up on my Kindle. Inked on Paper was definitely unique compared to all of the other NE books that I have read, but it was no less awesome and I absolutely loved it. The way the story was written, I was virtually reading two books within one. I was just as anxious to find out what happened with one story, as I was the other. Not many authors could successfully pull a story like this one off, with Nicole did it in spades and then some. Jacob and Presley were allot of fun to read about. I especially how their story progressed in showing how unsuspectingly intertwined their lives really were. The inspiration that they drew from each other was a little frightening, but more so inspiring than anything else. I know most of you are used to reading a certain type of story from this author, but I promise that even though this one is different, you will fall just as much in love with this book as I did.

I loved that we got 2 books in one really. The inside of Jacob’s job is interesting and I am sure a lot of it is true. I really liked that he was the author of romance and she was the tattoo artist.

The story of them is sweet and sexy but a little predictable. And that is ok because it was enjoyable to listen to.
Presley, I found to be pretty insecure in herself but so confident in other things and it was interesting because she doesn’t seem like the type to be insecure it was relatable and I wasn’t expecting that at all.

Jacob and his love for his family really struck a chord with me I loved the relationship he has with his niece and it’s a special one. It made it all the more special because his niece could open up to him and he didn’t judge her.

The narration was good, I like Tor more than Charley only because I feel like when she talks she is dramatic with every sentence. You get used to it but it can take you out of the story sometimes. Tor was the perfect Jacob his voice is just that touch of gruff that I like to hear for the male leads.

This is a slower burn romance then compared to Nicole's other work. The sex scenes are still hot but they are different you know?!?

The push and pull between Jake and Presley was at times to much. Well for me anyways. Their communication skills left a lot to be desired. Although I always enjoy anything Nicole writes, this one won't be on my top list for this author. This is probably just a "It's not you, it's me." kinds thing for this book. I do think a lot of other readers would enjoy this one very much. I just liked her other books more. I need a faster paced book. I don't want insta love but I do need the story to move at a faster pace.

I think you should try it if it sounds like something you would enjoy. Nicole is a fantastic writer and her books are great.

What a tantalizing read... Inked on Paper was an unexpected treat. I knew it was going to be good but it surpassed all my expectations. Nicole Edwards is amazingly talented. This is a story within a story and it will keep you turning the pages.

Jacob Wild is a well known author who has found himself in a slump. He is suffering from writers block, with a deadline just around the corner.

Presley Abrams Uniquely beautiful, talented tattoo artist, and ink model who is going through a bit of a creativity block herself.

While both are in search for their muse, could they possibly find happily ever after ?

Inked on Paper is a standalone, but I could definitely go for more of ALL the character in this story.

5++++stars. WOW.....I loved this book. What a great concept for a story. I loved the connection between Jacob and Presley with their respective creative talents, the way the interacted with each other, watching them fall in love. The fact that Jacob is a writer and writes a story about Kora & Donovan which is based loosely on his own life and feelings for Presley, was nothing short of brilliant. I can't seem to articulate how incredible I thought this story was. It will stay with me a long time......
