I loved him with my everything. I trusted in our love. I gave him my everything. And all he did was accuse me. He hurt me and left me. He took away everything from me. He destroyed me fully. He embraced another woman in front of me. But mainly he broke me.
Lana Winston went through a lot when she got divorced and her husband made her suffer. There was no chance for her to explain. She was thrown out of her world to the streets. She ran far away to never see all the people who hurt her again.
What happens when her ex-comes back? Will her world crumble down again? What happens when the bitter truth is revealed? Will things be forgotten and forgiven?
Will she make people pay for her sufferings or will she run far away again?
A book filled with twists and turns. Romance and love with betrayal and hurt.
I'm not perfect and nor my writing is. I'm newly born in writing world. My life isn't exciting but my brain is. Who am I? Fill the blanks on your own, you always know me. I'm not in the stars not in the air, not in the sky. I am just in front of you. I will love you if you love me! I will still love you if you hate me. I will be happy in your happiness and sad in your sadness. I will be always there for you if you became my friend. I'm in 20's yeah I know I'm old. I have graduated and on my way to masters. Hell, there is a lot of study in between. I read a lot mostly at night when everyone sleeps. Shhh, don't tell anyone. I just love to write. If you feel like connecting with me find me. Ps. I'M NOT A BIG WRITER. I JUST LIKE EMOTIONS.
Huge improvement on An Innocent Wife, but it is still a whackadoodle crackfest revenge/romance set in another dimension….The Twilight Zone.
It’s really too bad the heyday of soap’s is over because Ms. Resa would have been a huge asset. Her tropes are right up there with back from the dead, twins, amnesia and brain tumors. It was a fun read because it was so incredibly out there.
Grammar is an issue as English is not the author’s native language, but, hey, I've never written a book in my own language
The h was kicked out of the H’s life for supposedly cheating with his best friend. Left with no money (even though she had her own savings), called a whore, needed to die, has her see him have sex with another girl (another old standby) and when she called about the plot moppet she was expecting our hero says not my problem, bastard…you know the drill. The best friend is accepted back, of course, and is now engaged to the H’s friend, his cousin, his something???
Several years later they collide again and it’s cheater…whore…die all over again from the gang. H is engaged to the cheater-friend’s sister. Poor little h has found some friends and a surrogate family that just happen to be the prospective in-laws of the guy she supposedly cheated with. What are the odds? She also has a new beau she really, really likes and that likes her because she reminds him of his dead girlfriend.
The h finally stands up for herself and the truth comes out.
There's more plot twists, but I'm tired now.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
. Well that was an odd book. A trainwreck in broken English. It's hard to read, but you still get the gist of what's going on. Very OTT, and lots of characters.
So Lana was happily married to asshat Eric, until their friend Deaton and his sister conspire to frame her as an adultress. Eric goes bat shit crazy and kicks her out with no money and turns all her friends against her. She meets new friends that save her.
Now (pretty much the start of the book) it's over a year later. She had been pregnant and lost Eric's baby. The baby he believed was Deaton's. She tried to kill herself 11 times (my first thought was... 'and she still didn't succeed??'). But she is finally starting to move on with a man named Rick, who was one of the people who saved her. Eric has moved on to become engaged to Chloe, whose parents are old friends of his parents. But Deaton finally starts to feel guilty and ends up confessing his crime in a big expose in front of all the friends. Now everyone except Lana and her new friends are guilt riddled and crying with shame (literally). Turns out there was a dark reason behind Deaton and Chloe's betrayals. I suppose the reader is meant to forgive them, but ... ...I mean sheesh!, she sees him boinking Chloe in their own bed. I wanted to know how they would deal with intimacy again. Did they move house? Or at least buy a new bed? However it does take Eric the better part of a year to grovel his way back into her affections. But it's kinda glossed over. After the blow by blow and repetition of all his sins, I wanted more of a 'blow by blow' of his redemption. I felt more compassion for his guilt over the loss of his baby than I did for his guilt over Lana.
There are more reveals in the last 25% of the story that are more OTT harlequin style craziness. No amnesia or evil twins, but just about everything else.
So the whole thing is rather engrossing in a trainwreck fashion, despite the poor translation. I liked the bones of the story.
Safety is not good of course

After reading another author's book I had to make sure if another story would be so bad. It follows the same line of the other story with cheating, betrayal, verbal and psychological abuse and an unfounded and very laughable plot. I'm done here. Move on with my reading list.
I was hesitant to read this, the authors blurb feels like she’s telling us ahead of time the book is gonna suck, and the reviews weren’t great:) but I’m the type of gal that has to smell the rancid milk myself, and will most certainly look when you tell me not to.
I read enough reviews to know the book was a grammatical nightmare, so I really tried my best to push through all that. The actually bones of the story wasn’t bad, the problem was that she added WAY too much crap to her book sandwich...I actually think it wouldn’t have been 1/2 bad if she would have cut the length in half, and simplified the story. Parts of it were so OTT! If she would have kept chloe and deacon bad, because it’s hard to make someone likeable when she’s screwing your hubs for years because she’s trying to save your life...WTF ....and cut out that entire ridiculous grandparents , parents , death threat drama out... I would have personally liked it better.
The book is silly, immature, they throw suicide and killing people, sleeping with husbands because we’re coerced (like mother like daughter) and dead babies around too flippantly. Parts are so over the top I pictured Lucas twisting his mustache... dun dun duuun 🙄 But is free on KU so if you have a few hours to burn well, no harm I suppose.
Disclaimer by author: "I am not a professional writer and my primary language is not English. This is my first shot in writing."
This story had all the tropes I usually like. The bones were good but this one needs a serious editor. While I understand that English is not the author's primary language, it was hard for me to connect with the characters when the language, syntax, grammar, and phraseology was not clear to me. This is the crux of the problem. I tried - if this had been edited, I may have enjoyed it. Because I couldn't connect, I just could not feel that there was any chance that the H/h could reunite based on the amount of psychological and emotional abuse and his horrendous treatment of her. Even his friends and the 2 people who set her up asked for forgiveness for the conspiracy that drove them. No way - I would avoid them all like the plague.
This could have been a perfect story for me. I adored what I read of this angsty story, but the grammar so horrific I finally threw in the towel. I like where this author was taking her characters in this story and I would definitely give this story another try (and most likely a high starred review), if this author got some help from an editor to clean it up.
This books sends me so many teenage whattpad vibes that suddenly I feel 15 again. I don’t know if I’m glad or worried. The characters, all of them, acts and thinks as if they are in high school, with so much drama and silliness that made me impossible to feel any angst at all. The plot is about a sweet girl married to an idiot that is ready to think the worst of her and to cheat on her and divorce her. Then he becomes a manho while she remains celibate. Sweet old double standard that doesn’t fail to make me feel sad and discomforted about how even the teenagers view the relationships. Sigh. No hope here. He even get engaged while she’s still single. What can I say. Of course the truth comes out but it’s too little too late. Nothing can be saved from this book. Not even the writing style, that is plain and full of mistakes. There it goes the only one reason why I would read it anyway and it is, to improve my English, since the book here is written by a person whose native language is clearly not English. I’m sorry and surprised that I had to pay for this book. It clearly lacks editing and this is the main issue with self publishing, it’s not even grammatically correct. And I named whattpad where most books are free and anyway you can find some hidden treasures in the crowd. Whattpad is good. I defend the right of anyone to post free their works, it’s a very good thing and no one is forced to read them if they don’t want. But when I pay I expect some things, that are editing and corrections of mistakes. At least. Minus 10000000 stars
I can not even begin to comment on how poorly this book was written. This is coming from some one who English is my 3rd language.
The story itself was not bad, a wee bit long but not bad. There was substance to the book but unfortunately that is the positive of my review.
The bad stuff. Personally i feel if you want to put a book out for the world to read it does your writing skills a disservice not having it edited, use spell check, have a best mate read over, any thing but leaving it unedited.
““She had been stabbed by the knife of betrayal. She had called me in the middle of the night weeks back letting her pain out.”
“He didn't look clean at all and his clothes all mashed up”
“You know he used to wake up early and awaited for you to come to the kitchen so he could start his day by looking at you. I could see him writhe for your love, your touch, your voice, your.”
“He didn't even mind for degrading to the status of a vagabond.”
“The little game that you are playing with me, Rick, it's not going to work at all. How could you do it?”
“I was joking like really. I think my try to be playful just went downhill, maybe that is what I get trying to do something out of my comfort”
These are just some examples of the structure of the book. .... it’s horrible. I stopped and restarted this book so many times. From what I understand the other books she writes are no better.

I went into this book with an open mind because of other reviews. My review is really 2.5 stars but I’m rounding up.
Reading the story was like having a conversation with someone who almost knows your language. It’s not difficult but you have to think about things a few times to follow the conversation. Considering the author states she is a 20-year old student writing in a language “that is not her primary” I’m okay with it.
The story has good bones and the cast of characters is clear. The writing was amateurish but is that because of the language or because of the author’s age/writing experience?
Anyway, hope she keeps writing and can get a native English speaking editor to help her.
I couldn't even get past 30% of this. Literally if this was written in MS Word, every sentence would have at least a few of those red squiggly "FIX ME!" lines.
This book has the same feel as An Innocent Wife. But even though it was such a roller-coaster read, I truly enjoyed this one. I loved how the lies and betrayal slowly unfold - what a drama! And I really loved the epilogue!
It wasn't perfect. There are lots of typos, and it can be a bit repetitive, but the plot was amazing 👏 the angst was so good, the confrontations and the twist at the end were so, so good. Highly recommended
This book is horrendously written, barely even English. The characters are childish, have no depth and just seem to blame everyone else for everything. This was very poor at best.
I am so glad that these fathers and grand fathers are not in my family! It was appalling to me that their wives and families could forgive their deceit. I understand the NEED to, I just question if these idiots were truly redeemed.
The main characters were players on a chessboard and the pieces were being manipulated out of sight. The results were disastrous. The marriage between the H and the h set the chess pieces in motion and the h had to be excised. She was, brutally.
Once the truth was finally revealed, I enjoyed how the family members got their revenge and invited the h to watch so that she, too, could get closure. There was an HEA but the H had to do some major groveling to earn another chance.
I did not enjoy reading this book. The grammar was atrocious. I believe there was no editing done and the sentence structure was horrible. I found myself having to edit how I read the book in order to understand what the author was trying to say. The story idea was a good one and it is unfortunate that the author ruined it by such poor writing and worse the publisher could not have even reviewed the book.
This was...wild. It's like reading a soap opera. Everybody is slapping everybody. People are yelling, and secrets are being revealed in rooms full of people. Lies, betrayal, blackmail, threats of murder...the drama. It's all here.
So honestly? I liked the story. Poor Lana goes. Through. It. Like, hard. On the one hand, we have two people being blackmailed into setting her up and ruining her life. On the other hand, we have everyone else who refused to give Lana a chance to explain. Her husband and his sister fall into the latter category and flat out ruin her life, her reputation, and he ensures Lana is left with nothing. He even delights in seeing her pain when she walks in on him with OW. It's truly awful.
I liked this because once the truth comes out in a room full of people...damn. My girl Lana doesn't hold back. She goes down the line, person by person, and calls them out for everything. She doesn't even have to call people names to slice them to their cores, even though that's not really why she does it. She details exactly what each of them did to her and how those things hurt her. Then she goes on in the same room and calls out each member of her newfound family and details exactly what makes each of them good people, how they helped her and saved her life, showing her old "friends" how they should have treated her. It was one of the best scenes in the book. People were fooled into believing the worst of her, true, but they should have given her a chance to explain so I don't feel that bad for them.
Lana has also found a new man. Despite her ex-husband begging her multiple times to give him another chance, she remains steadfast that she will not leave Rick to go back to him. She's willing to forgive eventually, but she can't forget what Eric did and what he said. I was here for it. I'm so glad to see a FMC stick to her guns and not trip over herself to get back with her ex. Things with Rick end up not working out, but he is the one who breaks it off. Lana eventually goes back to her ex, who shows a good grovel imo.
The masterminds behind this entire fiasco get outed in glorious fashion. Obviously, it's at a huge party and there is plenty of slapping going on. Once again, the victims don't hold anything back. I appreciated that the people in this book who were hurt didn't mince words. Everything came out. I've read plenty of books where the characters say nothing because of pride, but we don't have that here.
So the things I didn't like. Storywise, the one problem I had here was that the culprits were forgiven. They get some jail time, but then Lana convinces everyone to forgive them and even allow them back into their lives. She was so stubborn when it came to Eric, but the people behind it? Sure, let them back in. HELL NO. They ruined so many lives (not just hers), threatened to kill people, and caused her so much stress that she lost her first baby. Absolutely not.
As for technical things, this needs a deep edit. I saw somewhere that the author doesn't speak English as a first language, so if that's true, I am impressed with what was written correctly. That being said, there are a lot of issues. Fixing the spelling and grammar would really elevate this. I think there were some formatting issues as well. The font size changed a few times as well as spacing between lines. Overall, it's a good story that needs cleaning up.

“We can pack and leave, just pick up our bags and start our journey to some peaceful place. How about we pack our bags, start our car and go to some peaceful place like hills or campaigning?”
Sentences like the above makes me question if I have masochistic tendencies? The story had potential, the characters not so much. If you think that you will see character development and a soul crushing story, turn around and skip this one. The story reminds me an episode of a Mexican soap opera that my grandma used to watch when I was little. The heroine is wrongly accused of cheating by their supposedly friends and the hero believes them over the heroine. He divorces and leaves her alone and pregnant. He goes further and has sex with the heroine’s best friend in front of her , disgusting. Long story short, the evil master mind behind the separation was the hero’s parents and grandfather. Listen I’m not going to judge an author because English is not its first language, if the story is good enough I can get past that. However, she should have hired an editor that proofread every chapter of the novel. The way I see it, she wrote the novel in her native language, seek the help of a friend that has a limited knowledge of syntax and grammar and with the help of google translate, voila there is the novel. In today’s time that is unacceptable, there is a website called grammarly that for a small fee, will check the sentence structure, meaning and the occurrence of tautology in a paper or in this case, a novel. Well enough of the writing of the book let’s talk about the characters and their bipolar behaviors. Eric and Lana’s relationship was seen through glimpses of the past, the novel starts some time after the aftermath of the cheating accusation. The level of immaturity that both characters had created a good source of well discussion among my friends, hell even my husband laughed at some point. The repetition of scenes, why? If the hero is telling us that he is packing clothes we (the readers) can visualize the scene we don’t need constant reminders. Also, there’s not an ounce of grovel at all. Just whining and crying but nothing else. If you want to read this, be my guest if you want experience cheating well done I would recommend, Arranged by R. K. Lilley, Bound by Honor and Bound by Love and check Emma chase’s books she writes strong minded heroines.

I thought I'd found a book where the ex wife Lana was able to find a new family and friends once her ex-husband didn't believe her when given pictures in bed with his friend and said friend lied. Eric instead of looking at the picture properly and taking to and expert he asked someone who zero clue with photo shop. But later on when he finds out exactly what happened it wants lana to forgive cruel nasty words as well as him with another woman in their bed smirking making her watch!!!! The author called there love special but this book just got me angry I've read dark romance but this was worse as so many people were involved. If you like these books with a strong female lead that finds her worth and heals to frind really love don't read this. But if you wasn't a yes girl that thinks love can make you look at an ex and see love instead of a smiling cruel smirk making her watch him with another woman then this book is for you. No woman who knows their worth would take an exx back after seeing that. As every fight a normal woman would see that cruel smirk and that's no where near true love!!!!
Tengo tantas cosas negativas que decir de este libro que es, hasta cierto punto, preocupante. Hay CIENTOS de errores de gramatica que me sorprende que el libro esté publicado. Las palabras se repetían tanto que hartaba.
Ahora sí, let's go.
Poor thing, this author had an interesting idea but needs some serious training in the English language. The writing is… not good. The sleazy OW, Chloe, doesn’t get her just desserts for not only causing the divorce but also the death of the unborn child. Oh, but her mom was sick… how is that a good excuse to be a home wrecker?
I didn’t ever get over what Eric did to the h. I don’t care how much he grovels, he’s a despicable cheater. He got some of what he deserved by losing his child, but I have to say it’s not enough.
The h is okay towards the end. She finally gets a spine.
Still, not recommended. It’s pretty bad. KU read fortunately.
I would never give less than 5 stars no matter how terrible the book maybe and sadly this was a pretty terrible book, I hate being negative but this book was terribly written, so many spelling mistakes and grammar issues, I wish someone had proof read this book first and helped this lovely author, the baseline of the book was actually pretty good and the whole idea of a second chance love story was beautiful. But it was too long and too much.
Good luck with future books and don't take this criticism to heart for a first book it wasn't too bad, it just needed alot of correcting
It feels like the author took a bunch of ideas from various books, e.g., the h being in bed with someone to stage an infidelity, a manipulative grandfather will go to drastic lengths to merge two companies through a merger etc. and strung them together to create a series of surprises. Unfortunately it is really poorly written. Spelling and grammar mistakes are riddled throughout each page of the book. The editing is abominable. The H is fed lies about his wife's affair. He believes them, throws her out, sues for divorce and has sex with another woman in front of her. The h gets to choose between her ex and a mourning OM.
The author is not a native English speaker. You can know that from the first few sentences. I wonder why the author didn't use a grammar checker. Most of the sentences are grammatically wrong. If you get past the horrible language which is impossible to ignore, the plot is as superficial as it can get. Annoying characters and there is no consistent behavior. One minute they are bad next they are good. Too much unnecessary details. Not worth the time
Unnecessary and meaningless complications in the plot. The author has wrought many, long angst speech and diatribes. Tenses are inconsistent while telling stories in the past which makes it a painful read. The author needs to get this book edited for grammar and punctuation. Maybe read a few nicely written books for a more mature perspective for writing anything, specially when writing about pain. Also, plenty of plot holes. Fair enough for a first attempt but a long journey ahead for the young author.
Did this book ever meet an editor? Gawd this author needs some help, bless her. I'm trying to think of anything she didn't put in there to keep the angst going, as it contains a lot.
I was determined to finish it, as it became a challenge to myself. Pushing through the bad writing... quite obvious that English isn't her first language... you can see that the author initially had a plot, but seemed to lose it along the way and it became silly. Do I think she will make it? yes I do! I think with some advice and a good editor she could get a good book out there.
