Shelby Nichols is no stranger to danger. She’s been shot at, framed for murder, and targeted by a serial killer. Now it looks like the government needs her help in Paris to confront a rogue agent with ties to a known terrorist. How does a mind reader who doesn’t speak French help with that? Will she find the cold-blooded killer before his next attack? Or will this be the end of the line for Shelby Nichols?
Solving crimes with sass, suspense, and a splash of the supernatural. Colleen Helme is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, best known for her fast-paced, laugh-out-loud Shelby Nichols Adventure Series, where cozy mystery meets a dash of the paranormal. With over 19 books in the series and several more in her Sand and Shadow and the Love, Loyalty and Larceny series, she’s built a world in which readers love to escape.
Hello, cheating. From emotional to the almost physical. I hate to complain about heroines, but this woman is a freaking hypocrite!
She is married and jealous of women, who find her husband attractive, but at the same time feels a physical attraction to the OM. Ramos, boy, not cool! Shelby, so not ok, woman! Please don't become pathetic!!!
She wore his t-shirt to the bed. He kissed her and after her husband was about to come to Paris, left.
Her thoughts: "It was probably because my husband was coming. A surge of guilt washed over me, but I pushed it away, knowing I’d be dead if Ramos hadn’t come. Besides, that kiss we’d shared wasn’t that big of a deal, right? Especially since I’d kissed Gabriel as well."
A rich wife was accused of killing her husband shortly after their altercation regarding a third party named Aphrodite. It looked like the woman was guilty, especially when all suspicions were directly point at her. She needed a lawyer to prove her innocence, and it seemed like she found the right people for the job,
Lawyer Cris Nichols was ready to defend her, and his wife was more than willing to help in the case. She's a mind reader and she often went to great length to help out the ones who needed her so-called premonitions. Even though her husband found her mind-reading ability irksome and annoying sometimes, he knew Shelby was his lucky charm. Why, she had helped him a lot with his investigations and had won court trials in a short period of time. Now that he's a candidate for partnership in his law firm, he was fortunate to have her by his side, even on the other side of the world... like Paris.
Ahh, beautiful, enigmatic, alluring Paris, France. I would love to go there someday so I can mark off my second dream destination in my bucket list. (My number 1 dream place is Japan!) What a nice vacation and experience would that be! But Shelby wasn't there for fun and relaxation. She was there to help the man who almost put Uncle Joe to jail, and to stop a possible terrorist from destroying the world.
I loved Shelby. I've seen her grow, from the first time she had her mind power until she crossed danger which involved assassins and FBI agents. Now she's back with Cris, Ramos and Blake and I couldn't count the number of times she almost met her death. She's had her hands full, I give her that, but she's one hilarious and feisty mama one shouldn't dare to cross. (Although I didn't like the part that she's got the hots for Uncle Joe's bodyguard.. ahem)
Colleen Helme continues to write interesting plots involving Shelby and I ain't complaining. I thought she's such a great writer, to be able to come up with exciting new stories every time she release a book. Helme still surprises me after all these time. She's incredible. I would be watching out for the 9th Shelby Nichols' story, that's for sure!
So, I’m re-reading this series because it’s amazing and I’m in love with Ramos! Anyway, book 6, 7, and 8 are a masterpiece! Actually this entire series is pretty awesome! I love Shelby! She’s such a sweetheart but I can’t help but feel bad for Chris. I mean, cheating on a spouse doesn’t have to be physical.. it can be emotional too! I really hope Shelby doesn’t ruin her relationship with Chris for Ramos!! I mean they have such a cute family and Chris is totally loyal and in love with her!
I found this series years ago - through pure accident. The first one, Carrots, was for free on Amazon and I really liked the cover and since I am one of those people that buy books in regard of the cover, I one-clicked it.
Devious Minds was as good as all the previous books. I really enjoyed reading another adventure of Shelby.
I don't know how one woman can have so much bad luck, but Shelby definitely has it, which causes a lot of hilarious situations. Even eight books into the series and I still love Shelby and her mind reading ability as much as I did in the first book.
I also love the progress Shelby made in all of her relationship. Chris, Shelby's husband, is the most appreciative husband in the world and both he and Shelby are totally in sync. I want to have a Chris myself.
Then there is Ramos. When I read the synopsis, I was like: What? No Ramos?! NOOOOOOO!! How can you do that to me, Colleen?....But fear no more, we get Ramos, a lot of Ramos! *crazy girl giggle*
Anyway, he and Shelby are really good friends, but with a lot of sexual tension underneath. Both won't act on it though, because Shelby loves her husband and Ramos doesn't want to destroy the good thing Shelby has with her husband. He is really cute in that way.
I could go on about Ramos for ages, but I won't. Read the series and you will see why I kind of have a crush on him.
Anyway, let's move on.
Devious Minds is set in Paris, France, and it really, really made me want to visit Paris. All the awesome descriptions of all the sights... One day, I will visit Paris. I'm only 4 hours away. I will totally make that trip.
I loved that Shelby had some struggles to use her mind reading because of the whole language barrier thing and she didn't spontanously develop the ability to understand french perfectly. No, Shelby had to work and come up with a plan to make the whole thing work.
Another thing I really liked about Devious Minds was the cover. Normally I don't mention the cover of a book in my reviews, but this cover is beautiful. The yellow dress really pops out and I also liked that it made an appearence in the book.
I said it once and I will say it again, but this series had everything that I always missed in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. The Shelby Nichols series is entertaining and always leaves me with a smile in the end, as was and did Devious Minds.
I can't wait for the next installment of the series. I need to find out what kind of trouble Shelby gets in next, since she is a magnet for trouble.
Rating: 4,25 stars
Like always it was a lot of fun reading a book from this series.
~ Book provided by the author in exchange for my honest opinion ~
Spending the last four weeks rereading this series to refresh my mind of all of the comings and going of Shelby Nichols was totally worth my time! I completely enjoyed books 1 through 7 before reading book 8. Please do not misunderstand -- while these books are technically a series and are intended to be read in order to best understand the evolution of Shelby's personal and professional relationships, they, indeed, can be read as stand-alones, as the author spends a little bit of time in each book with background information she deems pertinent to the story at hand.
Yay! Shelby goes to Paris in this installment! This story has Shelby working with the French Inspectors to stop a terrorist's plan in time to live another day! Book 9 is already released, so one does not need to be CIA, FBI or a detective to know whether she lives another day. I totally love the surprise her husband, Chris, has in store for Shelby at the end.
I am not exactly certain how Colleen Helme will top Devious Minds, but I am looking forward to her next book, Hidden Deception!
With nearly 50 books to her credit, Wendy Tremont King is the excellent voice of Helme's Shelby Nichols Series and I am not certain I could possibly enjoy this series as much if it were another voice to Shelby, Uncle Joey, Ramos and others. In this particular book, Ms. King was flawless in her French, British and hoodlum voices. Someone did a fantastic job pairing Ms. Helme with Ms. King for this series!

This book really worked for me, to the point that I’ve just nipped over to Amazon to buy book 1 in the series. I haven’t read or listened to any books in this series before now and I feel that this book could have been slightly enhanced if I knew the backstory a little better.
Shelby Nichols is a the main character of this series and I adore her – she’s the perfect blend of ordinary, the kind of woman who packs tissues and extra socks for every journey ‘just in case’ and extraordinary, she has connections to the mob and is flown out to Paris to help Special Agent Blake Beauchaine track down a terrorist. Obviously it’s better not to think too hard about how Shelby has ended up in this situation because it’s too fun to dwell on! She finds herself being kidnapped, attacked, generally shoved about a bit and then rescued by the smoking hot Ramos, the mob-hitman who suffers from a terrible case of unrequited love. The sexual tension between the two is pretty spicy, however, she does genuinely seem to love her husband so I’m not entirely sure where the author is going to go with this relationship and I’m a little frustrated on Shelby’s behalf.
I think it’s the things that make her ordinary in contrast to her abilities that really makes her work as a character, she’s likable, she loves her family and she gets scared when faced by terrorists and murderers rather than running in and saving the day on her own each time.
The one thing that I did find quite funny was that she makes a couple of references to being a mother but the children are barely mentioned throughout the entire course of the caper that is Devious Minds – she mentions her husband quite often and speaks to him on the phone while she’s away for a week in Paris but doesn’t seem to have much to do with the kids in this book at all. I assume that there’s a lot more of them in the other books otherwise I’m a little concerned for this fictional character’s maternal instinct…
Wendy Tremont King is a spectacular narrator and the audio production was of high quality, listening to her read this book was an absolute pleasure – she brought the characters and the story to life, I don’t think there would be another voice talent better suited to the character of Shelby. I would definitely listen to her work in the future, especially if it was another book in this particular series.
Audiobook was provided for review by the narrator.
I really like this series. I gave a score of 3.5/5 for Carrots, the first book of the series. The following books have all received the rating of 4/5 stars. I have something for this 8th episode of Shelby’s adventures because it is happening in France.
The situation is serious because Shelby is confronted with a terrorist plot in Paris where nothing goes as planned (which is usual with Shelby). Fortunately, she can count on the help of Ramos who came to France to protect her. The attraction between them is becoming stronger in each new book. Uncle Joey does not appear much in this story, I missed him because the interactions between him and Shelby are always very funny. The plot is very good, the story is full of action and suspense.
The only gripe I can do is regarding the french in the book because there are some small errors, not very important but it is my language so I can only notice them but it did not hinder my reading.
How awesome! I don't not know if Devious Minds is even better than the other Shelby Nichols books or if it because I just finished reading it, but that book is fabulous! When I am reading, I am so drawn into the book that the world fades away. I just spent several days in Paris!!!
Of course only a little of it was spent enjoying the gorgeous city but that isn't why Shelby was there. The agreement she had made with an FBI agent has her flying to the City of Lights without even knowing what she is supposed to do there. It doesn't take long before the situation becomes evident and terrifying. Fortunately for Shelby, Uncle Joey is not pleased and does not trust Blake so he send someone to back her up. If you are a fan of the series, sigh now!
After accepting proposal a from FBI AGENT, BLAKE, Shelby finds HERSELF, alone and lost in the city of her dreams, Paris. She can read people's minds but as she doesn't understand the language it means nothing to her. Shelby is being chased by terrorists after her because she heard about plans to unleash a major biological weapon in Paris. Uncle Joey and Ramos are not in Paris. Shelby must find a way to stop them by herself.
This book was amazing. I think this book is my second favorite now. I also am dying to go to Paris now! :) There are so many surprises in this book, you never know what will happen. I was so sad it ended. I finished in two days and had to just wait patiently for the next Shelby Nichols book! Thank you Colleen Helme!
If you've read the other books in this series just be warned this has more action and chilling escapades than any of the prior books. Shelby goes to Paris for what she believes, actually everyone believes, will be an uneventful meeting. It all changes right away when people are being killed and bombs go off. It's fun reading the little paranormal scenes that Shelby experiences when around spirits or ghost.
Wow! Colleen does not waste time or words. We get right in with the case that Shelby is working on, and Shelby wastes no time in getting to investigating. The first chapter dives in to the story line with vivaciousness. In listening to the story, one thing I did notice is that the chapters are longer ones.
This one book has me hooked on Shelby and her daring adventures along with the voice of Wendy. I look forward to getting a chance to listen to the previous books and to continue with the series!
****FULL REVIEW**** *This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com, at my request.
A past deal Shelby made comes due as Federal Agent Blake shows up while she's helping her husband with a high profile murder case. Blake is going to Paris tomorrow and needs Shelby to come along to help him, with her special knack for knowing. But, one small problem... Shelby can't speak French and she'll be listening to people who think in French. That's not the biggest problem. The biggest is that there seems to be a bio-hazard weapon in hands of a man hired to stop the Conference, and Shelby is in the middle of it.
I've not listened to Wendy narrate before. Why not? She feels as she IS Shelby. She has the feelings through and through in her words spoken. Like with Shelby's thoughts of Ramos, not only what she says but in the infliction of the words as well! (I want to meet the hunk of a man Ramos!) But the infliction and emotion holds true through out the book for all the characters Wendy voices. There are a few accents to fit the characters, southern accent and the trademark mobster leader relaxed accent too. And the French! All sounds natural. I really enjoyed how Wendy took on Shelby's character and acted as her. The recording sounds clear and clean, that Wendy is a professional at putting the audio together. Oh the emotion when Shelby is upset. And then I got to meet Ramos. Wendy did a smooth voice for him. Wendy really does fit Shelby and the story line perfectly!
I adored Shelby. She's is smart and fun. She's human with flaws and still a resourceful woman. Ramos is all I had hoped! And how Shelby can handle being with him and stay married... I have no idea! lol. I love the connection between Shelby and Ramos. Ramos knows she can hear his thoughts and he uses it to their advantage, along with teasing and flirting with her. Shelby struggles with not giving her ability away. It's so easy to do when she hears what people are thinking like the are talking to her. Yet she does her best to keep her secret, along with help from her friends that do know.
I'm one to read a series in order, but this story is easy to pick up and start new with the series. Colleen gives us enough history in the beginning to get us caught up and at a swift pace that keeps us interested to meet everyone. (I sooo couldn't wait to meet the swoon-worthy Ramos.) All of it driving us into the current hard case Shelby's husband, Chris, wants her help on and to Paris with Blake. Even though there is a history with the characters, this book is it's own adventure and I felt like I was familiar with the characters the whole time, never feeling lost.
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
When Colleen contacted me, letting me know that there was another Shelby book coming to read I was so excited. And Shelby in Paris! What could be better?! Not much, it turns out. Devious Minds was easily one of my favorite Shelby adventures.
What Worked
Shelby is of course the main reason I love these books! I wouldn't enjoy spending so much time in some people's mind - but Shelby is just great. She's so honest with herself that she's hilarious. And she does find a way to get herself into all kinds of trouble. Paris was no exception. She may have gotten herself in deeper here than she has in a while!
Ramos! I got nervous that this book wasn't going to have Ramos in it, but thankful Colleen found a way to mix him in. And even though I'm not a fan of the way Shelby and Ramos skate so close to THAT line, I do love him and a book without him would be a bummer. I probably even like their flirtation more than I want to admit...
Paris!!! Duh, right? But Paris through Shelby's eyes is a whole different adventure. For one, she's seeing some things that you'd expect to see as a tourist, but she's seeing them after being chased by terrorists and in bullet torn clothes. It's a different vantage point. And the challenge of foreign language is always great with Shelby's mind reading abilities. It's a real challenge that really helps Shelby step in it that much more!
The plot was, as always, great. It wasn't so much a mystery to solve as much as a spy adventure this time, but as always it was faced paced and I was always guessing.
As usual, I enjoyed Wendy Tremont King's Narration. She IS Shelby at this point and I don't care if she messes up accents. Which I'm thinking she probably did for the French. Not being an expert I can't say for sure, but it didn't quite sound right to me. But it didn't bother me at all either :)
What Didn't Work
As much as I liked being in Paris, I missed Uncle Joey, Billy, Dimples, Chris, etc. I saw a bit of them at the beginning but I would have liked more. Is this a fair complaint? No. You can't have your cake and eat it too... or so I've been told.
I just wish Ramos and Shelby wouldn't push the flirting line quite so far. I get more and more worried they're going to have an affair with every book. And that would stink. I like that Shelby is in a happy relationship. But I do love Ramos!
All in all, a great read and I can't wait for more adventures with Shelby! If you haven't picked up these cozy mysteries, you really must!
Last year I caught up with the 7th book in the Shelby Nichols series, and I had that disappointment that comes from not having another book in a favorite series to consume. I had to wait a year for the next installment. Oh, the horror! But joy of joys, I found out about the new book thanks to Audiobook Blast, and I jumped on that faster than you could say “Merci beaucoup.”
Shelby is a great character. She is a happily married thirty-something with two children. She can read minds, and through her series, she’s had many adventures in learning how to use that gift. She always finds herself in the worst trouble, but somehow still ends up coming out okay.
One of the things about Shelby that I like is that she is allowed to change and grow. She is still Shelby at her core, but her world has expanded to include new characters and potential scenarios. Where some authors might stagnate a character, Colleen Helme keeps it all fresh and believable.
For this story, Shelby goes to France, and that was a seed that was placed in the last book. Another good thing that Helme does is drop in potential threads for what the next mystery might be. While Shelby is in France, the story takes on a spy-thriller type quality as Shelby (and Ramos making a special appearance) goes against an international terrorist to stop a lethal bomb before it’s too late. Yes, she does succeed, but not without the adrenaline-fueled action that we come to expect from a Shelby Nichols story.
As for the narration, I have to give it to Wendy Tremont King. She IS the voice of Shelby, and not just because this is told in 1st person POV. She does the established characters so well that I’m not sure I could make it jive if another narrator had to do the job. The spectacular thing here is that she uses French accents with several different characters, and they all sound different. The subtle shading of the accents is brilliant. As a listener, I never wondered who was speaking. I am sure that took great skill and preparation to make it seem so easy.
I am a Shelby/Colleen/Wendy fan. There is no doubt about it. I loved this one, and I’ll be eagerly waiting for the next adventure. If you’re not sure if you want to jump into it on the 8th story, give it a shot. These adventures are always madcap fun, and it won’t take you long to catch up to what’s happening. Then you have the richness of 7 other stories to listen to while you, too, wait for the next book.

NARRATOR: Wendy Tremont King Another addition to one of my favourite series. This time we're in France battling terrorists. Shelby journeys to Paris with Special Agent Blake, reluctantly as she didn't really want to go originally but owed him a favour so felt she didn't have a lot of choice. Her husband, Chris, wasn't amused either as Shelby had been helping him with a murder case and he also didn't want Shelby to go knowing how she always manages to get in trouble! But Blake helped Chris with his case and Shelby and Blake fly off to France.
Once there Blake meets up with a contact and of course things soon take a turn for the worse and Shelby and Blake are kidnapped and held hostage. Luckily for Shelby Ramos has flown over from the States and comes to her rescue just in the nick of time. But Blake is badly injured and ends up in hospital. The French police get involved and various other disasters happen, shootings, cars blowing up, bombs, etc., the usual chaos that surrounds anything to do with Shelby! Lots of drama and averting major disasters this time, but harder for Shelby as she can't understand French and lots of the mind-reading she's doing involves peoples thoughts in French!
I just love this series. It's so funny but action packed and I love all the various characters. I've listened to all the books so far as audiobooks and just love the narrating. One of my favourite series ever, please Colleen Helme don't ever stop writing about ditzy Shelby!
Colleen Helms - your stories just get better and better. I enjoyed my trip to Paris with Shelby. It was edge of my seat, breathtaking. Love love love Devious Minds - Book 8 of Shelby Nichols series.
Now I can say, “I’ll always have Paris!” Thanks!
Her Shelby Nichols novels are a must read. Now I need to get the next several books to read. Thanks again!
I've listened to a bunch of this series on audiobook partly because I like the voice of the reader and light weight fluff while out walking. Unfortunately, the series has been going downhill after staring on a bunny slope. It is unbelievable the heroine is not dead because of her stupid actions. Really, it's great to have women as PIs but between this series and the Stephanie Plum series, you would think women are utterly incompetent and incapable of much improvement. It's become aggravating. This series seems closely modeled on the Plum series except that this heroine can read minds. The set up with the men in their lives is a mirror image, for instance. So, this will be my last one of this series....
Oh my Paris....... A simple meeting in Paris turns into a deadly disaster with terrorist putting Shelby right in the thick of crap again...lol but Ramos arrives in the nick of time, I actually lost count how many times he saved her in this book such a thrilling read from start to finish. This was my absolute favourite story so far such a great mystery, great descriptive writing throughout Paris you really felt like you were right there and I loved how funny hearing french thoughts, when Shelby doesn't speak French would have sounded in her head...lol
Exciting than ever with a glamorous setting of Paris . Shelby is helping her husband Chris with a murder case first. Than Blake wants her help in Paris which leads to terrorists, bombs, shootouts and Ramos acting as her bodyguard at the perfect time. clean, humor as they race to find the terrorists.
Wow I just loved the fact that Shelby was thrust out of her comfort zone and sent to Paris, good job Ramos went to, it made for fun and enjoyable listen, even with the language barrier. Definitely a must listen to book and a great book to add to your collection. Shelby is busy helping her lawyer husband Chris, like only Shelby can, to clear his client of killing her husband. The problem is Shelby knows who the killer is, she is just having problems proving it. Until she gets offered help from an unlikely source. Uncle Joey's old friend and he only wants her to do one small favour in return, travel to Paris for a meeting. Only Shelby can turn a simple meeting into a running from guns, hunting down terrorists and looking for a deadly bomb. Good job Uncle Joey doesn't trust his old friend and sends his right hand man Ramos to help and keep Shelby safe, as it looks like he has his work cut out for him. Once again Wendy does an excellent job with the characters. I don't know if the French accent was right but it sounded good to me.
I like the fact that Colleen adds a piece or two from the previous book. (e.g. Thumb Drives). Although the only that puzzled me was that Shelby knew she couldn't translate forgein language given the incident with Kate the second time around (which I believe is in the second book after Kate escapes).
Makes me wonder if Uncle Joey explained to Blake that he needed to keep an eye on Shelby since she has an unnatural attraction to trouble or vice versa.
I so hope things are not as bad as I anticipate they will be. Apparently the apparitions are on her side in more ways than one. and in another country.
One of the best things about Shelby ans Ramos is that even though she is married and tempted by Ramos neither one of them is willing to take the chance to mess up Shelby's marriage to Chris. Although some of the things that Chris says or does makes me wonder but in the same token the both of them work on their issues.
I realized that I had missed this book, as I started on #9. What I loved the most about "Devious Minds" was that most of it was set in Paris, and the French language was frequently used. Since my parents died, I have no one with whom to converse in French, so it was really rewarding to read the foreign text. Also, since I have visited the "City of Light" many times, the familiarity of the tourist sites left me with warm, fuzzy memories.
What I didn't love was the numerous grammatical errors, which I don't recall from the previous books in the series.
I finished #9 the next day and am now about to begin #10. Love this series and the quirky Shelby Nichols who reads people's thoughts! ❤️
It has been 10 days and I am reading on an average one book per day of the series I read the first one around 10 days ago. It was free on a promotional basis. the only thing I have been doing between each book is eating sleeping and working.
I would recommend this book and series, it is available on Kindle Unlimited which is also a part of the charm. There are quite a few books so if you are in the mood to binge read this is a really good option.
There are a few negatives about the book and series they are very rush rush there are quite a few stereotypes and repetitions and the character can sometimes be too stupid to be alive. There are other drawbacks such as it is quite shallow but I don't think it is incredibly stupid and as I light read it is quite enjoyable.
One moment mind reader Shelby is helping her husband on a murder trial the next she's being pursued by a dangerous terrorist in Paris, that she's determined to stop from bringing death and destruction to the capital. Shelby is so cool and a very lucky lady thanks in part to Ramos the incredibly sexy hit man who's job it seems is to keep her alive. The sexual tension between these two is palpable, but Shelby would never cheat on her husband Chris. I loved the thrilling fast paced storyline and the narrator does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend Devious Minds (The Shelby Nichols series #8). You won't want to miss it!
Shelby got shot in the head in the first book. Now, she can read minds. Only a few people know this. She has helped out the police and the FBI. Also, to save her life, a mob boss knows her secret and uses her skills. Over time, the mob boss, Uncle Joey, and his hitman, Ramos, have learned to care about her safety, and she has become loyal to them. To help Uncle Joey, she promised an agent her help (he believes she's excellent at reading people and has the occasional premonitions. He calls in the favor, and they head to Paris. From there, it is one rollercoaster ride after another.
So Shelby is going to Paris. She is leaving behind her safety net to help a spy. I thought it was good of her to help Uncle Joey and was disappointed he wasn't more appreciative. Chris isn't happy she will be far from home and him. Ramos comes to the rescue although I am wondering more and more who is pushing him. I don't think it's him that is loaning Ramos out I have a feeling it's him. I hope we get to find out more about their relationship in future books. I liked the spy aspect and this book showing us a more capable Shelby who can kick butt.
This series has climbed into position as one of my undeniable favorites. And this particular book tops the list as one of my top two in the series. I want to write something amazing and profound, but as I’ve just finished this book and my thoughts are all still tied up in the plot line and my emotions are still tangled up with those of Shelby and Chris (sigh) and Ramos (double sigh) I find myself struggling to put two coherent thoughts together. Since you can’t read my mind, I’ll just say, “Holy hell! That’s incroyable”...and leave it at that.
I have loved every single book in this series! Shelby is definitely a trouble magnet! Even the simple things tend to get her in trouble. Lol! This one took place in Paris, which I have wanted to see since I was a teenager. I felt like I was there! Of course, Shelby finds herself in a very dangerous situation, and in comes Ramos to help save the day! I love the dynamic of these two characters, and can't wait to read the next one in this series!
Wow! I think this is my favorite so far. A new setting, a well-crafted plot with tons of intrigue, a group of characters who continually evolve and mature, an unrequited attraction that sparkles and sizzles simply with flirtatious comments and looks, and a deep abiding love and commitment to family are forces to be reckoned with and appreciated in Devious Minds. Love, love, love this series! Grabbing the next one now!
Wow! Enjoyed every minute of this book. It's pretty scary how many times Shelby could have been killed, but it wouldn't be such a good story otherwise. She really put herself out there this time and the bad guys really wanted her dead and gone. So she did what she always does and saved the day. Can't wait to see what she has to do in this next installment.
