This time, the case is personal when Meg finds out one of her dearest friends is the victim. Even more, Meg's friend has made enemies of the most influential family in town. Somehow, Meg has to find a way to navigate her grief while cracking her hardest case yet. Is Meg finally in over her head?
Truthfully, all my reviews for these books are going to be relatively the same. The series is repetitive: it would make for a great book for a high schooler. I would normally say a middle schooler could read this book, but some of the topics they talk about may be too much for a middle schooler, such as suicide or drug use.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Quick and easy Cozy Mystery read. I really liked Meg and her talking cat, Penelope, who is actually her grandmother. This time, a dear friend of Meg’s is murdered. Meg is devastated, but knows she must solve the case, even if it puts her in peril. Meg sparingly uses her hereditary witch powers to get answers from suspects during her sleuthing. Especially important as her mother doesn’t want word to get out that they are witches for fear the town will shun them. Good book to recommend to adults as well as young adult readers who love cozy mysteries.
Megs best friend has been murdered. Conner, her boyfriend detective has to inform her. Unfortunately her friend Sabrina wrote a book about the secrets of the wealthiest family in town, the Treadways. She workd as a maid for 6 years before. She was 1st published and could stop working as a maid. All the members in the family warned her about publishing her book. Her laptop is the only thing stolen at the murder scene. Meg uses simple witchcraft as no one knows she is a witch. There are some humorous scenes. The storyline is interesting, the characters are believable and interesting with some likeable. The narration is done by Lainie Pahos does a great job. This bookis a great family read, for a teenager or a slumber party. I love she has them clean, no frank sex, foul language or gore. We enjoyed this book. I recommend this book.
Who is Sabrina? What does she do for a living? What news has come out that has Connor bothered? What news does Connor come to Meg's door with first thing in the morning? Oh, goodness, I Have met my match with these mystery stories by Ms. Morgan! Usually, I have a good idea by half way through the book on who I suspect is the one that commits the murder. This is the third story by her that I have had no clue until the murderer was revealed! I LOVE IT! This story was a bit heart wrenching for me and I wanted to cry for Meg.
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
I have read a few of these books--not in order of course-that would be too easy!! They really are clean, cozy mysteries about a witch who has to keep that a deep dark secret-even from her law enforcement boyfriend. She really wasn't going to get involved in any more sleuthing--but then--
Her best friend was murdered--there was no way she would let whoever did this get away with it. Everything led to the most influential family in town--but who in that family did it? Meg and her boyfriend kept running into lie after lie--
Would they finally figure it out so she could get back to her bakery and make some more of those magically additive donuts?
Another good wtchy murder mystery with outrageous caracters .This time a dear friend is murdered, one of Meg's close friends has written an amazing storey heavily based on the very wealthy family in Enchanted Bay and it's first review was deadly .Meg and Connor team up to solve this case. Aquier "Killer Twist " so you yourself can enjoy reading it as much as I have. Kat
This narrator has a pleasant voice and delivery making these stories an enjoyable listen.
Meg is investigating the death of a friend who’s tell all book is going to ruffle the feathers of a rich family. This is a better story than the first two, there are less of the word for word repeats that are in books 1 & 2. This story has two repeated lines that should have been picked up in editing.
A good whodunit story. When Meg's author friend is murdered, she and Connor work the case together. Like many police procedurals, there's a lot of suspect interviews. Also, them, there's not a lot of truth revealed. Meg's twist at end solves the case.
So pleased I'm not friends with someone like the witch, Met in the series. Book #1, her best tried is accused of murder Book #2, another best friend is accused of murder Book #3, another best friend is murdered. I'm going to try book #4 in the hope of a change of subject, but if #4 is as plagiarized from the previous three were from each other, I won't be reading the rest of the series.
When her detective boyfriend, Connor, tells Meg Walton her good friend was murdered during a robbery, Meg is not convinced. She is sure it has something to do with Sabrina’s soon-to-be-released novel that reveals the dirty secrets of a wealthy Enchanted Bay family.
This is a good cozy mystery. There is humor, romance, and mystery. What a fun series.
This story is a little different from the first two, but they continue to sound like they were written by AI with wrong words being used and left out entirely. With a bit of elbow grease and personal work, this would have been are really fun cozy mystery series. I like the ideas, but the delivery is very lackluster.
A writer friend of Meg's ends up dead after coming back to town to promote her new novel, a thinly disguised expose about the wealthy family for which she had worked years as a maid. Easy reading for a quiet afternoon.
Killer Twist (The Witches of Enchanted Bay #3) was another great read by Amelia Morgan. Meg finds herself investigating another murder in Enchanted Bay. Unfortunately this murder hits too close to home, one of her dear friends is murdered. I really enjoy reading Meg and Connor's detective work.
Meg enjoys a Night out with her friend who wrote a tell all book about a well known family under the guise that it is Non Fiction. Sabrina didn't realize that some secrets are better left unsaid til she ends up dead. Meg is determined to find out why and who killed her friend no matter the cost .
I need Whispersync, so I have no input on typos, etc. I only know that I really enjoyed the mystery, Grandma/kitten, discreet witchy powers, and all of the interesting characters! Lainie Pahos is perfect as narrator!
Sucks to lose a close friend. So Meg, with Connor's help, needs to do what she does best. Makes people inadvertently tell more of the truth than they plan on. Then mix it all up in her head, and see what pops out!
A simple but well-written murder mystery with a hint of magic and a touch of romance, with realistic characters this one holds your attention from the start, well worth a look, Baz.
I really enjoyed this installment of the series. You could very easily read this without reading the other books and enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend doing it that way. The romance is adorable. The mysteries are fun.
The mystery part of the books are good. I never can tell who it is. Meg is ballsy for sure. But I’m glad he and Conner are working together. Tbh I wish there was a doughnut shop that you can eat all the doughnuts you want and never gain a pound.
Meg’s friend is killed before she can publish a based-on-reality fiction tell-all book about a rich town family. More procedural than romance or magic.
Wow. Can you imagine reading about all the things that some big family had done wrong. It's no wonder they don't want it published. Leave it to Meg to figure out who did it.
