It has been getting harder to follow along in the series, as John Chase is totally reckless and spontaneous in a way that would kill anyone else not named John Chase, yet he gets through every situation no matter what, some of which befall the hapless Russians and destroy them all, while he himself emerges unscathed yet again, time after time. Every heroic figure is a large, powerful man, while every heroine is absolutely make your knees weak beautiful. There are very brave ugly women and extremely capable fighting men who are of average build. In fact, most special forces types are of average build, as a large, powerful man cannot go everywhere an average man can. But I digress, for the sake of the story, Mr. Patton keeps the good guys extremely large and powerful, and all the main female characters drop dead gorgeous. But the ending of this book almost made me give up on this series, as what befalls Katie and how they all react doesn't just blur the line of credibility, it obliterates it. Two stars for this one, as it just isn't possible to believe how reckless John is, yet he constantly survives, and that ending is just ridiculous. Here's hoping Book 10 is much better...

What a bunch of crap.. And a waste of money

You had me thoroughly engrossed in your series and then you killed his wife.. I'm not ok with it doesn't matter how great Rachel is she doesn't deserve to win the man that way.. It was a good story til this point. All good stories have great loss in them that grips you and pulls you in but this is too much.. I've read your comments about your wife and love of her and how Katie was written after her.. Im not impressed..

Dirk really dug in immediately and kept up the nonstop pace he set in all the previous books. I don't do spoilers, even slight ones - so I will say nothing except, if you haven't started book 1 yet - why not?! You will not regret reading this series. Action packed, thrills on every page, the characters are strong and give you something to like/or hate. And, most importantly, it's set in the Zombie Apocalypse so there's that!

STAND DOWN MAJOR..PLEASE?

The Russian President want Major John Chase something fierce, had many troops trying to find him. Could they?

The story goes more complicated and interesting. Rachel, Dog, Col. Crawford, Irina, Scott, Captain Martinez and Igor are running for their lives. John needs to create havoc. Crawford too. Keep reading...

Another great read

After reading 8 previous books in this series, I should be used used to the cliffhanger endings. But they just keep getting better. I highly recommend this book and series!

Rachel and Katie are taken captive by the Russians now they want John in body bag.

After all they have done to find Rachel & Katie the Russians are holding the girls captive to flush John out to surrender.

Well! No spoilers here, but I’d just say that either Major Chase is as skilled as one would believe it lucky. Either way, he’s off and running to try to rescue the women he love.

Talk about being packed with non stop action, and this book is a prime example. Now the question is who will survive to get a vacine to save the future?

Good book, but kind of getting tired of bad narration and it suddenly jumping between places that makes it hard to know what is actually going on right now.

Another awesome book in the V Plague series!! With John, Katie and Rachael separated from the rest of the group, they continue to try to evade the Russians as they have taken a specific interest in capturing John. With the other part of their group trying to rejoin with them leads them all in to the hands of the Russians which leads John to do the hardest thing he has ever done. When all is said and done, members of their little group may not walk away from the fighting with the Russians.

This is a must read book in a must read series. The whole series is so well written and it is obvious that the person writing it is extremely knowledgeable in what he is writing about. It will be a sad day when Dirk has written the last of the V Plague series.

Another non-stop story from Dirk Patton! The book picks right up with the ending of the eight book. Major John Chase is once again trying to survive and protect the others closest to him, but the Russians want him even more than the infected.

In another time, in another life, John was involved in taking out a KGB team and their leader. That leader happened to be a mentor to the current Russian president and he will stop at nothing to catch John Chase.

Has John finally met his match? Is his expertise and skill set going to cause the deaths of those he's been protecting? Read the V-Plague series (starting with the first book) and find out!! But get ready....there's nowhere to pull over in this story!

**Note: the 4-star rating was due to editing mishaps only. Still an amazing read!!

Wow!

What a great series. Having just finished #9, I am ashamed to say that I haven't written any review yet on this great adventure written by Dirk Patton. My only defense is the fact that these are the types of books that once started, cannot be put down. I would caution against reading them before bedtime, because the adrenaline rush makes it difficult to get to sleep. My congratulations, sir, on producing such a fine work of art. In my opinion, that is what great writing really is!

Okay...without giving anything away, book 9 ends with the cliffhanger of cliffhangers. I couldn't get to book 10 quick enough. I spent yesterday in the hospital and could not put book 9 down. Great series of books, highly recommended. But you MUST begin with book one and move through the series in order to get a sense of the character's motivations and personalities.

2023 - I am so enjoying my second read of this series, I'm astonished at how many details I have forgotten, it's almost like reading the books for the first time.

I love all the books in this series, but Precipice is my favorite, thus far. Fast moving, well thought out, and a great addition, Titus! I'll miss our 3 heroes. Purposely, I read this book much slower than the previous 8 so I was able to drag out the ending. Great job Dirk Patton! I can't wait to find out how John deals with ...*can't say, or else I'll spoil the ending" ... My heart missed a beat. I CAN'T wait! I'll read Rules Of Engagement now...

As always, amazing book! I had a hard time making it last 2 days, but there really is never a good place to stop. John is amazing, as well as the whole crew he finds throughout the series. He comes across so many ridiculous obstacles, but still focuses on those he still has and does everything to save them. My heart broke for him so many times, especially at the end. Again, I wait impatiently for the next book to see how he solves his new problems. *Spoiler* Dog is okay!

Rave review of all 9 V Plague books

Just completed reading all nine books, one after the other...I usually avoid this kind of series (I.e., King's Green Mile) as the books are just chapters cut up from the original publication. Consider me a Dirk Patton fan from the first V Plague book. If you like fast-moving plots, blood and guts action, and thoroughly entertaining dialogue, be sure not to miss the V Plague saga.

I’ve read this book at least 4-5 times now, although I’ve only documented it 3x- 2016, 2019, and now 2024.

I love this series. This installment is one of my absolute favorites, honestly. Things happen that I hate, but dang- that ending is an absolutely amazing cliffhanger. I appreciate it more now, because even if I didn’t know what happens next, I can read the next book- but I do remember the wait! Freaking epic.
Also: the brief and impactful Titus is one of my fav tertiary characters.

Awesome!

I've been waiting for this continuation and it did not disappoint! This book carries on and delivers as I thought it would. Non-stop action, comical insight with twists and turns nearly on every page. The only down side is I now have to wait for the next one to be released. Anxiously awaiting...

6 Stars!

It's astonishing that the story continues to get better as we go along. Not that the series wasn't fantastic from the start. So many books in...and I never want to stop reading! Friends that have been lost will be very much missed, however. Another phenomenal job, Mr. Patton.

Wow!

A relatively short but exciting read from Book 9 of the "Voodoo Plague" series with a heck of an ending that now requires hopefully a not too long wait for the next and final book.
