Loved
I absolutely loved this series (there's more to come). It had me completely enthralled, I couldn't put it down. It flowed perfectly, had great friendships/love, and was funny at times. When Getty and her Mom move to this small town only God himself knew how Getty would change things. I highly recommend.

I was gifted this ARC of the book Bloody the Bones by Alisha Basso for an honest review.
OMG I freaking Loved this book. High Five!!!
Getty Rose Michaelis and her mother moves to Timber Cove after her grandmother passes. In the attic of her grandma's house Getty will find a mirror that will start her on a journey of mystery, intrigue, laughter, and possibly Love.
The mystery of finding her grandmother's mirror is in the attic, but what she discovers is actually a person inside the mirror....Sabef...he has been trapped in the mirror for decades, and he is about to be set free...or is he...
New to the high school, she just wants to finish the year and graduate for her mom. She meets Andy and Kellie who turn out to be the greatest friends she could ask for. They tell her about the "Elite" townsfolk and the teacher hot as sin Mr. Emerson is one of them. So is Jared, who is trying to get her to go out with him. He is promised to Amanda, another Elite, ya know the arranged kind of marriage, but Jared wants no part of it.
Timber Cove has a lot of secrets, and Getty along with her friends, Mr. Emerson( Jackson) and Sabef will try and discover that witches are real and Getty is a powerful one.
Can Getty release Sabef from the mirror?

Omg! One hell of a ride Alisha. The author captures the supercharged emotions of typical high schoolers to a T or what we call drama. I could totally relate and was brought back in time. This book is the best thing since Twilight! It has enough drama, dark, suspense, and adventure that pulls you in and makes you crave more!
There's something different about Getty. She's got a pull from crowds and clicks in school she's not use too. She gets things to happen like no other. Is there something more? We will see. She's funny, witty, beautiful, yet very smart. What every girl dreams to be, well mostly. Lol
Jackson or Mr. E, is probably the you fat hottest teacher ever! He is every girls dream. He is disciplined and hard to the core with an attitude that cuts like ice until he sees Getty. This girl touches his heart like no other. Will this happen between the two? Read to find out.
Together with all her friends they embark on adventure that sets you on the edge of your seat.
Be prepared to have a book hanger because it's hard to put down! I would definitely read anything that Ms. Basso would write because the words are flawless on the page making it an easy smooth read that packs a powerful punch especially in the end. Can we say cliffhanger Alisha! Wow I can't wait for the next book! Now I'm on pins and needles waiting! Enjoy the ride!

Everything started in ancient Egypt. A Priestess has cursed a man into a mirror, who will only be "seen" if one of her descendants are powerful enough. In the present, it is set in a town called Timber Cove. It is some sort of Salem type town where they used to hang their accused, and burn witches at the stake.
Getty Rose Michaelis, our not so young senior student is the newest girl in school - in forever. The town is sort of a "Nobody gets in or out" place where literally everyone knows everybody. So with a new face in town, everyone is curious. There are what you call "Townies" and "Elites". As you probably assumed, Townies are the nobodies, and the Elites are the popular and controlling ones. Little does Getty know, her family has a history in this town that will slowly unfold as the story progresses.
This was a light and enjoyable read. As with her Grace Allen series, it was hard to put down! Ms. Basso's writing has greatly improved from her first book. For a first read in 2016, I am happy about it! Hopefully every book I pick up will be as enjoyable as this. It was definitely a page-turner!

First of all.. I loved how it got going. It started in ancient Egypt with an priestess named Neferura who cursed a man who only loved himself. She cursed him to live forever in a mirror. The mirror ended up getting passed down to Getty from a long line of witch ancestors.
Getty's grandma had just passed and left her house to Getty's mother. They move across country to a small weird town called Timber Cove. Alisha even throws in a "Sleepy Hollow reference" used by Getty. I love how Alisha Basso even includes some her her snarky humor in her books too. If you're an Alisha Basso fan then you'll know she wrote this book. Can't wait for more to this story. It's definitely a great start.

Great start to a new series
One of my now favorite books to read.
Getty is this kinda wild but slightly tamed girl . She a new girl in a new school that has a history. You have these elite families with a high history tied to the town. And what's better than wanting what you can't have and everyone wants a piece of Getty, she's super popular for all the wrong reasons. But until secrets come to light everyone wants her for their own agenda . Loved this read, brilliant new series. Thx Alisha for sharing your amazing talent with us. Would recommend this book as a must read .

Such a great read. I really love the characters and settings in this book and think that the story and characters are pretty well developed. I love a book that allows me to experience a wide range of emotions while reading and this book provides it all. Impatiently waiting for the next one in the series!

Really excellent story!
This was sooo good! Amazing in every way. Was kind of hoping for a reverse harem outcome. All 3of the guys were terrific, and I didn't want her to have to choose!
I really hope there's going to be more of this story, and more books!
But this was published 3 years ago so maybe there won't be.
Definitely worth reading regardless, because this did not end on a cliffhanger.

Awesome
Getty's mom has lost her husband and now her mom so Getty and her move to her grandmothers house in a small town where it seems no one moves to and no one leaves. Getty soon finds out why. Great story with a few twists, romance, and suspense.
