فرض کنین از بیرون وارد خونه میشین و میبینین یک «سیب» روی میز آشپزخونه است. بدیهیترین نکتهای که به ذهنتون میرسه، اونقدر بدیهی که حتی بهش فکر نمیکنین، اینه که خب این یک سیبه دیگه! (حتی نوشتنش هم شاید مسخره بهنظر بیاد) و این همون نقطهایه که نویسنده روش دست گذاشته: از کجا معلوم سیب باشه؟ و اگه سیب نباشه، اصلاً چی میتونه باشه؟ اگه فکر میکنین برای این سوالها فقط یک جواب وجود داره، حتماً نگاهی به این کتاب بندازین.
شخصیت اصلی داستان که کودکه، با قوهی تخیلش سناریوهای فراوونی رو برای این سیب مطرح میکنه، جوری که آدم انگشت به دهن میمونه. طراحیهای کتاب فوقالعاده جذابه، از نظر آموزش پرسشگری به کودکان، کتاب بهشدت خوبیه و حتی این نکته رو هم بهشون میفهمونه که میشه پیشفرضهای ذهنی رو به چالش کشید. البته که شخصیت اصلی رو توی فاز شَک نگه نمیداره و با هدایتش بهسمت «تجربه کردن»، کاری میکنه که بالاخره به ذهنش نظم بده و یکی از اون سناریوهاش رو بهعنوان «واقعیت» بپذیره.
اگه همراه کودک کتاب رو بخونین و حوصله به خرج بدین، میتونین ساعتها سرگرمش کنین. برای نمونه دو صفحهی زیر رو ببینین. میشه کلی برای هر نقاشی داستانسرایی کرد یا از کودک خواست برای هر کدومشون یه قصهای بسازه و کلی کار خلاقانهی دیگه.
گاهی حسرت میخورم که چرا دوران کودکی ما این کتابها نبودن.
پ.ن: ترجمه هم خیلی خوب بود.

راوی ماجرا از مدرسه به خانه میآید و چیزی روی میز میبیند که نظم همیشگی و ساکن را بههمریخته، متعجب میشود. «ها! این دیگه چیه؟» و سوالات فیلسوفانه از همان ابتدا یقه مخاطب را میگیرد. روی میز یک سیب است. «از کجا معلوم سیب باشه؟»
تخیل نویسنده در تقریر احتمال «چیز دیگر» بودن شگفتانگیز است. در مرز بین واقعیت و خیال «چیزهای» قرمز و گرد و خوردنی و شگفتانگیز دیگری را طرح میکند.
ها! کار سخت شد.
به جاي سركوب كردن سوالات ناتمام بچه ها ، بايد اين كتاب رو براشون خوند
مطرح كردن سوالات جذاب زاده ي ذهن يك كودك يك طرف ، تصوير سازي هاي فوق العاده كتاب از اين سوالات در طرف ديگر ، جذابيت كتاب رو در چندان كرده.
"شايد فقط سمتي كه رو به منه سيب باشه، پشتش پرتقال باشه"
"شايد يه تيكه از يك گيلاس دوقلو باشه"
"شايد قراره از اين به بعد تمام خانواده ش رو با خودش بياره"
"شاید جاسوس کارهای من باشد؟ اصلا اینجا چکار ميكنه؟"
"شايد....

و اين شايدهاي جذاب و دوستداشتني تا جايي ادامه پيدا ميكنه كه كودك از مادرش اجازه ميگيره و سيب رو ميخوره و ميفهمه كه : "عه! اين فقط يه سيب شيرين بود"
و همين مسئله به پرورش ذهن كودك ميتونه كمك شاياني كنه ، اينكه بفهمه با ذهن كودكانه خودش به جواب چراهاي خودش برسه ، اينكه بفهمه طرح سوال هيچ اشكالي نداره ، اينكه بتونه به قدر تخيلش پر و بال بده.
تخیل نویسنده در تقریر احتمال «چیز دیگر» بودن شگفتانگیز است. در مرز بین واقعیت و خیال «چیزهای» قرمز و گرد و خوردنی و شگفتانگیز دیگری را طرح میکند.

کتاب درمورد پسر بچه ایه که روی میز خونه شون یه سیب میبینه. اما با خودش فکر میکنه شاید سیب نباشه و شروع میکنه به خیال پردازی که این چی میتونه باشه.
من اصولا اهل این نیستم کتاب کودک بخونم اما این کتاب رو خیلی خیلی دوست داشتم! به نظرم خیلی بانمک و قشنگ بود. در عرض چند دقیقه خونده میشه چون بیشتر کتاب تصویره ولی اینقدر کیوت و بانمکه که خریدمش و هر چند وقت یه بار برش میدارم و میخونمش. تخیلات بامزه ی یه پسر بچه ی کوچولو.
من رو تا حدی یاد بچگی خودم و خیالپردازی هام میندازه :)

On the table, there was an apple. But wait a minute. It might not be an apple at all...
This is a crazy book. I'm not saying it's not. But it's also cute and funny and yes a little wacky. It has so much imagination and my students could not stop laughing. Which was so funny to me, I didn't find it at all amusing when I first read it BUT they loved it. They wanted more. They loved the story and it became a classroom favorite.
I need to remember this. Kids need all types of books. They need me to read different books to them. They need me to promote all types of books. I would have easily skipped this book if I hadn't bought it without reading it first and what a disservice I would have done to my students. They loved the different things an apple could be and wanted to come up with list of different things on their free write.
This is just one tiny example. The whole book is full of different things an apple can be.
There is one dark page, when I read it I was a little uncomfortable. And then I couldn't stop laughing because one kid said, "Well, that turned dark quick." I love my students.
I guess other than that "dark page," as my student said the book is pretty funny and a tad bit weird. Overall it's a great addition to my classroom library.

یه کتاب فلسفی برای بچه ها،این کتاب به کودک کمک می کند تا بهتر ببیند و بیشتر سوال کند.
روحیه ی پرسشگری کودک با این کتاب تقویت می شود و باعث می شود کودک بتواند در چالش های بزرگ زندگی راه حل های خلاقانه تری پیدا کند.

Не знам дали тази книжка е толкова хубава, колкото аз я виждам, но все едно... точно по мой вкус е!:) Едно момченце се прибира и съзира на масата у дома си червена ябълка. Но ябълка ли е всъщност това? Или малка паднала планета? Или яйце, от което ще се излюпи пиле? Или... още хиляди неща. Imaginative and funny!

A young boy comes home from school and finds an apple on the table. At least, he thinks it's an apple but it might be a fish rolled up to look like an apple, it could be half apple / half orange, or nothing but peel within peel. The apple might have feelings, the apple might have friends and relatives somewhere. The apple might be planning something. The apple could be from outer space and be home to tiny little apple aliens that can only be seen with a magnifying glass. There is no way to know for sure. This one apple is food for the little boy's wildest imagination, and each page brings fresh possibilities, ripe with deep thought and complete with diagrams and labels that explain the boy's thinking.
Explaining thinking is a skill that we insist children must develop in all subject areas at school, Math, science and language arts all demand a level of critical thinking and transparent thought processes that were not a part of traditional teacher-centered education in years past. Gone are the days when rows of correct answers on a worksheet are enough. Now children are asked to make their thinking visible, and for good reason. By making thinking visible we are opening our thought processes to a dialogue with others (peers, teachers, parents) and by doing that we are keeping our thinking alive and moving forward. We are also honoring an ancient truth found in constructivist theories of education, that all knowledge is built on the foundation of existing knowledge. By making our thinking visible, we share things we already think we know and wonder how our theories might live up to reality. There are no wrong answers - just theories that need to be tested. This book is all about that process.
It Might Be an Apple asks the reader to think outside the box on a very simple topic, and the simple line drawings and diagrams featuring mainly grays, yellows and pale pink colors make sure that the many, many red apples and apple related drawings pop from the page. It would be great as a parent to child read aloud, an exploration with a teacher and a class (maybe 1st or 2nd grade?), or an individual quiet reading project for an older child with an abundance of curiosity.
A note about the Japanese book which likely proved a challenge for the translator: there is a page of "friends and relatives" of the apple that is laid out like the Japanese hiragana alphabet. The page before names just five of those friends: Rango, Ringo, Rungo, Rengo and Rongo, each shaped differently and each representing ら (ra) り (ri) る (ru) れ (re) and ろ (ro) from the Japanese alphabet. These five characters appear again on the next page laid out with each and every letter of the Japanese hiragana alphabet, with the shapes and colors of the different apple friends being suggestive of the name (extra points to the friend Ungo who looks like unko : poo). The alphabet effect and many of the suggestive shapes are lost in the English translation, but instead attention has been paid to make sure names in each row will rhyme. An amusing effect can be noticed from the page before, where the names do not rhyme or resemble what they are supposed to be. If the reader is really on their toes they will notice those five friends appear together in a column on the next page. I am really sad, however that in the English translation they changed the name Ringo (which means apple in Japanese) to Jingo. It does rhyme with the other friends in that row (Bingo and Wingo), but leaving this one as Ringo would have been a nice light bulb moment for any children who have any knowledge of Japanese, since this particular friend is the only one on the page that is shaped like a regular apple.

نگاهی به نخستین کتاب از مجموعۀ فیلسوفان کوچک

در برنامه فلسفه برای کودکان ( p4c) مباحث هستی شناسی (Ontologie) یعنی بحث و گفتوگو درباره وجود و حقیقت «چیزها» و ارتباط آنهاست. شناخت و درک و تحلیل شباهتها، تفاوتها و سلسله مراتب و گروههایی که آن «چیز» بدان منتسب است.
پرسشهای اساسی وجودشناسی فلسفهورزانه که تسهیلگران با کودکان و نوجوانان طرح میکنند مواردی است مانند:
آن «چیز» چیست؟
از کجا بدانم وجود دارد؟
در کدام دستهها میتوانم قرارش بدهم؟
به وجود چه چیزهای دیگری معنا میبخشد؟
در چه حالات مختلفی از «چیزها» وجود دارد.
و…
در کتاب «شاید سیب باشد» نوشته شینوسکه وشیتکه و ترجمه رضی هیرمندی، در همین ابتدا سه کلمه کلیدی داریم: شاید، سیب، باشد. (احتمال/ چیز/ وجود داشتن)

یک تجربه ناب بعد از یک فلسفیدن کودکانه که برای تکتک ما آشناست.
بسیاری از ما کودکیمان را بهیاد میآوریم که در مواجهه با هر امری، حیرتی دلانگیز داشتیم. این چیست؟ چطور ساخته شده؟ چکار میکند؟ کجاها میرود؟ ما را میبیند؟ حس دارد؟ ما میخوابیم بیدار میشود و حرکت میکند ؟… این پرسشها کندوکاو ذهن ما برای درک چیستی جهاناند. حرکت در ساحت شیرین خیالورزی با تکیه بر تجربه وجودی جهان.
کتاب «شاید سیب باشد»، اثری استاندارد و فاخر برای همخوانی تسهیلگر یا والدین با کودکان است، تصویرگری ساده اما متمرکز بر مفاهیم به کودک کمک میکند فارغ از نقش و رنگ به سراغ مفهوم برود. رضی هیرمندی این کتاب را یکی از بهترین آثاری که تا امروز برای کودکان ترجمه کرده میداند و به حق میتوان با او همدل بود. قوام و توسعه پرسشگری کودکان و جسارت گذر از خیال شخصی به شناخت واقعی هدیه این کتاب برای مخاطب است.
زوایای دید کودک در حین هر پرسش بارها تغییر میکند، تصاویر کتاب پتانسیل گسترش پرسشهای راوی در عالم کودکانه را داراست. هر بار که آن را ورق بزنیم قصهها و نه یک روایت از میان تصاویر سرریز میشوند.
کتاب «شایدسیب باشد» راهنمای خوبی است برای کمک به کودکان تا لذت حیرت از عامترین چیزها را بارها و بارها به جان بکشند. لذت پرسیدن، لذت تخیل کردن، لذت کشف کردن و لذت ناب تجربه کردن.
امتیار من به این کتاب ۵ ستاره از ۵ است.

در کتاب «شاید سیب باشد» نوشته شینوسکه وشیتکه و ترجمه رضی هیرمندی، در همین ابتدا سه کلمه کلیدی داریم: شاید، سیب، باشد. (احتمال/ چیز/ وجود داشتن)
راوی ماجرا از مدرسه به خانه میآید و چیزی روی میز میبیند که نظم همیشگی و ساکن را بههمریخته، متعجب میشود. «ها! این دیگه چیه؟» و سوالات فیلسوفانه از همان ابتدا یقه مخاطب را میگیرد. روی میز یک سیب است. «از کجا معلوم سیب باشه؟»
تخیل نویسنده در تقریر احتمال «چیز دیگر» بودن شگفتانگیز است. در مرز بین واقعیت و خیال «چیزهای» قرمز و گرد و خوردنی و شگفتانگیز دیگری را طرح میکند. ها! کار سخت شد. چالشهایی در مرز بین «وجود داشتن و نبودن سیب» شاید یک تخم مرغ سیبی، یک آدم فضایی سیبی، توپ سیبی و… نکند احساس داشته باشد. شاید عقل کل و باخبر از همه جا باشد؟ شاید جاسوس کارهای من باشد؟ اصلا اینجا چکار میکند؟ صفحه ۲۴ و ۲۵ کتاب سفرهای احتمالی که سیب طی طریق کرده تا بهدست راوی برسد مصور شده، سفرهایی در دل تاریخ و جغرافیای بشری. در ادامه درک مخاطب از احتمال و مفهوم شاید به چالش کشیده میشود: شاید بیمزه باشد! شاید خیلی ترش یا خیلی سفت باشد… شاید مثل بادکنک باشد، شاید من را تبدیل به غول کند! و پایان هیجانانگیز داستان: حالا فهمیدم چیست؟ خوشمزه است.

کتاب «شایدسیب باشد» راهنمای خوبی است برای کمک به کودکان تا لذت حیرت از عامترین چیزها را بارها و بارها به جان بکشند. لذت پرسیدن، لذت تخیل کردن، لذت کشف کردن و لذت ناب تجربه کردن.

Začiatkom roka sa v našej domácnosti najviac obracala detská kniha Možná je to jablko. O malých príbuzných záhadného jablka sa hovorilo pred spaním aj po prebúdzaní, asi to bolo ich srandovnými menami:
Pleskin, Šiškin, Vrťkule, Splešťule, Šnečkulas, Jakoďas, Citroláda, Zmotánek, Cvokna, Zmonka…. Krásna hravá kniha o nekonečnej predstavivosti.

Ideahan on siis todella mahtava: poika näkee pöydällä omenan ja alkaa pohtia, että entä jos se ei olekaan omena? Ehkä se onkin naamioitunut appelsiini? Jonkin olion muna? Jos sitä kastelee, niin ehkä siitä tulee suuri omenatalo? Ehkä se on tippunut avaruudesta ja sen pinnalla asustaa pieniä omenaplaneetan otuksia? Ehkä se kuorsaa vienosti öisin?
Minä tykkään kovasti "entä jos" -ajatuksista, mutta tuntuu että kirja vei tämän PIKkuisen liian pitkälle... Poika nimittäin päätyy ajattelemaan, että entä jos kaikki muut ovatkin omenoita paitsi hän itse? Entä jos omena kasvattaa itselleen kädet ja jalat ja kutistaa pojan palloksi ja maalaa punaiseksi ja vaihtaa pojan omenaksi pöydälle itsensä tilalle...?
...
Ainakin minusta tuo on aika häiritsevä ajatus. Jos olisin lapsi, en ehkä tahtoisi nähdä omenoita muutamaan viikkoon.
Jos minä lukisin tätä ääneen lapsille, skippaisin tuon yhden aukeaman.

از آن دست کتابهایی است که میگویم کاش من نوشته بودم. کاش من هم اینجوری فکر می کردم. کاش هنوز هم انقدر خیالباف و فانتزی ساز بودم.
فیلسوف کوچک مجموعه دو جلدی با عنوانهای؛ شاید سیب باشد، و میتوانم یک من دیگر باشم؟ است.
برای بچههایی که حتی هنوز خودشان هم خواندن یاد نگرفتن، برای بچههایی که هنوز انقدر بزرگ نشدهاند که به داستانهای خیالی شما با چشمهای متعجب نگاه کنند، این کتاب را برایشان بخوانید و هدیه بدهید.

عالی بود. چه ترجمه خوبی.

A quirky, imaginative book filled with humour and wit as a young boy ponders all of the things that an apple might be. The book was originally published in Japanese and has been translated into English by Thames & Hudson.
A young child arrives home from school to find the most normal looking of objects on the kitchen table…a red apple. Or is it an apple? The story follows the wild, wacky and inventive train of thought of the young protagonist as they surmise all the things that the object might be if it is not an apple.
I love books like this that make you think and challenge views and perceptions of the world. As you read this you are encouraged to question what you know, ponder why you think things are what they are, to question your view point of things and to acknowledge how things can always be viewed in more than one way.
Shinsuke Yoshitake expertly turns the most everyday of objects into something incredible and wonderful and has produced a book that is a glorious look at an apple and all the things it might be, what it could be, what it might have been and what might happen to it. As the boy’s imagination runs wild the ideas that the red object might be get more and more creative. Ultimately, the boy’s imagination returns to reality and he ends by taking a bite out of the red object and discovers that it is in fact rather delicious. The quirky illustrations and creative ideas are presented in a simple yet engaging way and I really like Yoshitake’s use of a simple colour palette with most illustrations in shades of red.
Brilliantly imaginative and imaginatively brilliant. Shinsuke Yoshitake is a unique talent and a superb creator of children’s picture books. It Might Be An Apple will delight and entertain readers both young and old.

فرض کنین از بیرون وارد خونه میشین و میبینین یک «سیب» روی میز آشپزخونه است. بدیهیترین نکتهای که به ذهنتون میرسه، اونقدر بدیهی که حتی بهش فکر نمیکنین، اینه که خب این یک سیبه دیگه! (حتی نوشتنش هم شاید مسخره بهنظر بیاد) و این همون نقطهایه که نویسنده روش دست گذاشته: از کجا معلوم سیب باشه؟ و اگه سیب نباشه، اصلاً چی میتونه باشه؟ اگه فکر میکنین برای این سوالها فقط یک جواب وجود داره، حتماً نگاهی به این کتاب بندازین.
شخصیت اصلی داستان که کودکه، با قوهی تخیلش سناریوهای فراوونی رو برای این سیب مطرح میکنه، جوری که آدم انگشت به دهن میمونه. طراحیهای کتاب فوقالعاده جذابه، از نظر آموزش پرسشگری به کودکان، کتاب بهشدت خوبیه و حتی این نکته رو هم بهشون میفهمونه که میشه پیشفرضهای ذهنی رو به چالش کشید. البته که شخصیت اصلی رو توی فاز شَک نگه نمیداره و با هدایتش بهسمت «تجربه کردن»، کاری میکنه که بالاخره به ذهنش نظم بده و یکی از اون سناریوهاش رو بهعنوان «واقعیت» بپذیره.

I translated this book for my niece, but didn't actually give the book to her. Now... I thought the book was really interesting. The philosophical stuff is a bit heady for kids, but it's interesting. The book is also endlessly imaginative, which I love--basically it's about a kid imagining an apple on the kitchen table to be a million different things. However, I ended up NOT giving the book to my niece because of two things.
One, there is a sequence in which the father comes home drunk. I figured my brother wouldn't appreciate that scene in a children's book.
Two, it has a penis-shaped apple in it. Most people would probably miss this, but I am sure it was intentional. So as part of the book, the child narrating imagines that the apple on the table has a bunch of relatives. And we get to see all these relatives. And some of the relatives (maybe all of them) have punny names. One of those names puns on a Japanese term for penis, and the apple itself is suspiciously shaped as well.
So now you know this is a really popular book, and in many ways I liked it, and I really wanted to give it to my niece... and I thought about translating bits of it wrong, and just glossing over the penis joke. But I felt somehow that it was just wrong to give a book with a penis joke to my niece. So... yeah. That's the way it goes sometimes I guess!

June 6, 2025این اولین کتابی بود که از یوشیتکه دیدم و اولین کتابی بود که از یوشیتکه در ایران بود و یافتنش شبیه یک معجزه بود. بعدها هم در داستانهای دیگرش تقریباً همین روند را داشت اما دیدنش برای اولین بار واقعاً شبیه یافتن یک گنج بود؛ هنوز هم هست. شکل شوخی که یوشهتکه قصه را پیش میبرد شبیه داستانهای دیگر هست و نیست. یک جوری از جادویی بودن و کنجکاوی که برای همۀ ما آشنا است اما انگار ازش دور شدیم و همین ویژگی باعث میشود که کتاب برایمان دلچسب و خواندنی باشد اما مهمترین نکتۀ کتاب در تصویرگری آن است که آن را تبدیل به کتابی یکتا میکند. در واقع همان چیزی که یک کتاب کودک باید باشد. یعنی لزوماً همنشینی تصویر و متن نیست که قصه را میسازد بلکه تصویر کارکردی دارد که با چیز دیگری امکان تحققش نیست. این کتاب را نمیشود تعریف کرد؛ نمیشود شبیه شعرش کرد و تنها با این تصاویر است که معنا دارد. تصاویری که عجیبوغریب هستند و حتی چینش یوشیتکه هم شبیه کتابهای معمول این طوری نیست البته ار فرهنگ شرقی میآید که کتابهای دیگری هم با این شکل سادۀ تصویرسازی دیدم و خب، مثل همیشه دمشان گرم که شبیه بقیه نمینویسند و هنوز باحال هستند.

This is a mind-bending little philosophical experiment that reads as a cute and quirky little story. It almost has a Schrödinger's cat type feel to it: until you pick it up and check, who's to say that the apple is actually an apple? It will drives kids crazy and offer endless entertainment, reminding me of This Is a Ball (and the rest of the books in that series) in this way.
