Dust Bowl Devils MC #2

Devil's Fall (Motorcycle Club Romance)

Rate this book
Trouble begets troubles. Bad luck draws more bad luck. The only way out is to break the cycle.

Gunner hadn't figured out how to do that yet.

He thought he’d reached a low point. He’d alienated himself from his club and even his father declared him an irreparable screw-up. When one more devastating blow strikes home, with no one to turn to, he’s certain it will end him.

Everything changes when Senna falls into his life.

"I want you. As soon as you realize how bad this is for you, you’d better disappear from here. But until that day comes, I'm taking you. You're mine. Got it?"

They come from completely separate worlds - she’s the daughter of a white collar criminal; he’s the son of a former MC club president. She’s unreadable; he wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s lived too hard and she hasn’t lived much at all.

Bad luck set them on their collision course. The same force threatens to tear them apart - but maybe together they can begin dig themselves out.

Devastation, redemption, violence love passion - this full-length novel also contains explicit language and graphic adult content. It is suitable for mature readers only.

(Author’s note: Devil's Fall contains spoilers for Devil's Girl but is a separate story - they do not need to be read together.)

Reading and writing all day every day but I'd still rather talk about music. What a world.

Decent story

Decent story

Senna has some unsavory white collar criminals after her, so she goes to find her sister to warn her, and then she's getting the heck out of Dodge. She ends up witnessing a hit, and lands in even more trouble with the MC. Gunner is nothing more than an impulsive screwup, but ends up keeping Senna alive. Now they both have to face the consequences.

Senna and Gunner's relationships with other people are interesting and somewhat dysfunctional. Their characters were somewhat interesting, but I would have liked to know more about Gunner's military service. He seems destructive, and is kind of a jwrk, and I don't know how Senn could be ok with that. I don't really see why they love each other, just seems more like lust.

The plot was ok, there were no surprises, no jealous club whores, no shootouts, no cheating (thank goodness).

That end really screwed with me. That seemed vaguely anticlimactic and more like a HFN, and I just don't see how their relationship is strong.

I was surprised that I didn't care for this book so much. I really enjoyed book 1.

Gunner and Senna happened really fast. The instant connection didn't work for me.
The story was okay, it just didn't really have anything that made it stand out. Gunner never felt like a part of his club. He didn't really consider them his family, or really give a shit about any of them. That seemed off for me. I like the brotherhood in biker stories. The Dust Bowls might have hassled him, and been heading down a path that Gunner didn't agree with...but when it came down to help Senna, they had her back. Gunner might have disagreed with some of the club choices...but he wasn't there trying to change things, just judge them for it.

I'm not counting this series out though. I think there is more stories from this club, that I will enjoy.

Discovered this book on my old Kindle and decided to read it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the way the author delivered this story and the depth of the characters. It was a 4.5 for me because I noticed some editing problems (not glaring) that took away from a 5 star rating. I highly recommend the book and I'm going back now to one click the first book in the series.
