Excellent insight into some of the heroes of Man Utd from the 80’s with a lot of tales that I had never heard before. It gives a really good picture of the behind the scenes football culture amongst professionals of that era. Andy’s research is incredible and getting players to divulge some of these stories is simply amazing. The only thing that lets it down slightly is the narrative - some chapters are written almost as a verbatim transcript of what was said by the player and makes it difficult to follow. Definitely a must read for any Utd fan of that era who would have idolised some of these players.

Interesting

Another fine book by Andy Mitten. The 1980's is a great era to look back at from a Manchester United perspective and there are eye-opening accounts from eleven people who lived it.
