One of baseball's most outstanding catchers, Johnny Bench discusses his boyhood days picking cotton and peanuts, his thirteen years in professional baseball, and his friendship and feuds with teammates and managers
From 1967, people considered Johnny Lee Bench, American baseball player, among the greatest catchers in history and the most valuable player of National League in 1970 and 1972 in 16 seasons with the Reds of Cincinnati to 1983.
To my mind, Johnny Bench is the greatest catcher to ever play the game. Has been 29 years since I read this book, and I loved it then just for that reason!
