Nine exciting accounts of naval warfare in two world wars: British and German submarine engagements; the Italian human torpedo attacks; oil tanker San Demetrio - the ship that wouldn't die; The Battle of Narvik; the destruction of the Bismark - pride of Hitler's navy; the spectacular raid on St. Nazaire; and the midget submarine attack on the Tirpitz.
A good read. A well written account of various naval actions in both world wars. However in Chapter 7 - "Raider at Large" and the article on Bismark, HMS Prince of Wales was a Battleship and not a "heavy cruiser" and the HMS Rodney's guns were 16" & not 15". The photo of HMS Hardy is in fact the later HMS Hardy and NOT the HMS Hardy of Narvik fame.
