Well, this was mostly confusing and kind of dumb. The things that were explained didn't help in understanding what was going on. And the whole flow of the story was just off. They ran around the woods a lot and fought a demon but it just didn't make a lot of sense.

Derek is a business owner and foster child of Kate Harkness and when he flys back home he's in a terrible accident and his shifter bear awakes and saves his life.
Hedda is a witch living on her own trying to protect the world from a demon trapped inside a portals.
Did enjoy the last bit of this book but struggled through start to the point where I was gonna stop.
I think I've read a book in the Harkness family which I really enjoyed. Would love to read about that series

I absolutely freaking LOVE anything by Tasha Black, so when I first heard about a new series Tasha was doing, I jumped at the chance to read it. 'Bait This!' is book 1 in Tahsa's new series "300 Moons", which is connected to Tarker's Hollow. I'm uncertain still, even after reading 'Bait This!' if you should read the previous series from Tasha or not... even though Tasha says it's a stand-alone.
Have you ever wondered what happened to the shifters who shifted to young?? Well one way or another, they would end up in the home & heart of Kate Harkness at Harkness Farms, then sung a magical song of welcome & protection by Gloria Cortez. The children would then grow up loved & learning the value of family, a continuous process for Kate & Gloria, until the 300th moon arrives. This is the story of Derek's 300th moon since arriving at Harkness Farms.
On a flight home to Harkness Farms in celebration to his 300th Moon, Derek's plane crashes on a Mountain, he's the only survivor. Trying to get service on his phone, Derek happens across a women whom his bear would do anything to protect.
I was entranced from the first chapter, until the very end of 'Bait This!'... I couldn't stop reading it, I had to find out just what the price of the magic that Gloria used on the shifters when they first arrived. Now I can't wait to read the other shifters 300th moon stories... I can't wait.

Loved it.
Derek & Hedda are the mc's. Derek is from Tarker's Hollow & one of the special orphans that was taken in. The special spell that allowed him to control his bear is has run its course. He can feel his control slipping and decides to return home.
But Fate has other ideas and his plane crashes. 🚪 Enter Hedda the witch.
Well written. This is a fast paced story and the flow is pretty good. I admit there were a couple of areas that needed some work, but! They are few and did not interfere with the enjoyment of the story.
Hedda is a strong witch but there is a dangerous problem she needs to take care of when Derek literally falls from the sky. Well, his plane does with him in it.
Full of action, romance and magic.
Derek and Hedda team up to banish the evil danger.
They are drawn together in a special way & it becomes apparent Fate has stepped into both their lives.
The romance is 'Sweet Adult'. In other words, really good sex scenes.
The whole story was fun and yummy.

I'm sucked into Tasha Black's world of adventure, awesome characters and some steamy scenes. I couldn't put this book down nor I can't wait to read more.

Really fun book — with a slightly different feel from the first one. The romance is cute, the characters have good arcs, and the plot is adventurous and interesting, though it takes place almost entirely out in the wilderness. I thought it was really fun and I’m looking forward to reading more in this series!

In Bite This!, there is a preview into this book, where you find out that Derek had been missing for several days and came out of the wilderness with his mate, Hedda. This book goes back and fills in those blanks. Hedda is a witch. As someone who started this series without reading any of Tasha Black’s other fantasy series, everything was still explained well enough that I didn’t feel like like I was missing something by starting with this series. (I don’t know for sure that there connections to previous books, but I’m pretty sure the answer is yes!) The hero undergoes a pretty similar emotional journey to Johnny in the previous book, but there was enough other stuff going on that I wasn’t bothered by the similarities. This book builds on the plot of the previous book in terms of developing the villain(s), and I’m enjoying the slow reveal of that!

Derek had a spell put on him when he was a kid. It was to help him control his bear and it will last for 300 moons. Now his time is up and his bear will not be denied. His bear wants out and wants to mate.
Hadda Lane was a witch that was protected the a mine to keep the evil in. She had to be lonely be there all by herself. She has seen an omen letting her know something bad was going to happen.
Hadda probably could not believe there was this hunky man that crashed near her. She could not believe he could be attacked to her. Seems like if there was something going to go wrong it would happen to Derek.
These two have secrets they are keeping from one another and they will have to eventually come clean. There is danger among them and they will have to work together to defeat the danger.
Derek will have to battle with his bear. His bear tells them that Hadda is their mate and if Derek can not make the move then the bear will. Derek will have to learn to work with his bear. Derek will find this difficult.
Great story and glad I got to read the book.

Derek, a billionaire, received a call from his mom telling him it was time to come home for a visit. He couldn't say no. Unluckily, his plane crashed. Hedda was on the mountain checking for any magic problems. She went to the crash and found Derek and the bad magic entity. Working together they got the badness to leave. Hedda was not comfortable with Derek's bear so, he went off alone.
It had been a long time since Derek had let his bear out in a forest and let him have control. He was upset because of Hedda's rejection. Derek's parents rejected him when he was but a small cub. They gave him to Kate and she was the best mother a cub could want or ever need. He was drawn to Hedda and her rejection was making his heart bleed.
He was feeling worse. Then he new it wasn't him. It was Hedda that was in trouble. He knew where she was because Hedda was his one and only. When he found her..... Ms Black paints a beautiful picture at this point and my words are not sufficient to paint the scene. Don't deny yourself this painting. I volunteered to review this ARC book using my own opinion.

I loved this book its full of action and emotion that grip you and keep you turning those pages until the end .Derek has always kept a tight rein on his inner bear .He has used it to help him make judgement calls in business but otherwise denying him .Hedda a witch is living alone patrolling and guarding the mountain against evil .She is fine with being alone after the last mistake she made by falling in love she has no intentions of letting it happen again .She doesn't think any man can see the real her past her gifts .When Derek's plane crashes near her home he and Hedda find each other sparks fly .They have to band together and fight for their very lives as they both fall deeper for each other .The spell that was placed on Derek as a child to help him control his inner self is fading and is bear wants out will they come to terms or will one be pushed aside forever.

Paranormal galore! Hedda & Derek are totally opposite when you look at their bank accounts but money can't fill an empty heart. Hedda has powerful magic and uses it, Derek has a bear that he denies at every opportunity. Although their have a lot of opposites, they powerfully attract. Derek's denial opens up a dangerous twist which eventually brings them closer together. I felt sorry for Hedda because she carries a burden and is punishing herself with isolation. I felt sorry for Derek too because of his abandonment issues. Sparks fly between these two instantly and they quickly accept their fate and team up to protect each other. I like both of these characters, they have very realistic issues, I enjoyed their story because of that, their adventure, their equality in spite of their differences. I hope to hear more from them in future books in this 300 Moons series.

Derek Harkness is a bear shifter who started shifting at a very early age. He was brought to Harkness Farms to live and magic was used to stop him shifting for 300 moons. Derek's 300 moons are coming to an end so he is headed home for a visit when the plane he is traveling in goes down. Derek survives the crash but he is now in what appears to be the middle of no where. Derek is looking around and picks up a wonderful scent only to discover it's a woman. Hedda Lane is a witch who has a mission to keep evil at bay and she is willing to sacrifice everything to fulfill her mission. As soon as Derek and Hedda meet they are drawn to each other but a dark presence is also drawn to them and they have to fight the evil presence at every turn. I love this book the story is amazing with wonderful character. This is a must read if you love shifters.

It's sad about the pilot but I don't quite understand what happened on that part, was it a storm out of the blue or evil magic? It's good that she went and cked things out as usual but didn't expect 2 find him and then had 2 save him. They ended up saving each other a few X's. Even though he had issues with his 🐻, sum X's u have 2 trust and love ur animal and know that u both with protect each other and even better when u find ur mate that will help complete each other. She's pretty good at magic but magic always has it's price but it seems like she's not as strong in her powers as other witches r but it's really good that she had a little advantage that helped her in the end 4 both of them. Can't wait 4 more asap!!

This is a shifter story but a little different in that it involves young shifter children who are early shifters and too much for their parents to handle so they are shipped off to a lady who loves them and looks out for them like their own mother. When the children arrive they are put under a spell for 300 moons to help them control their animal so they can shift when they want instead of the animal controlling them. This story is about Derek, a bear shifter, who has never truly accepted his bear and how his life changes when his plane crashes and kills the pilot. It's unusual and has an interesting twist to it.

300 Moons -- the end of the time is nearing. Derek is heading home to the family farm. That journey is interrupted. His control is weakening even as he meets Hedda, a witch who guards a disaster area against a supernatural enemy. Wow!! This is a standalone book. It is a page turner, a romance, suspenseful tale. I picked this book up and had a difficult time putting it down. Bravo! Note: I discovered Tasha Black less than 2 months ago -- I have devoured 9 books so far (2 series complete and now 300 Moons). Major thumbs up for Tasha Black!

As usual, every time I open a Tasha Black book, I can't put it down until I reach the very last comma. This story is a great continuation of book one, but at the same time it can be read as a stand alone story. The action scenes were awesome, as well as the shifter scenes and the erotic scenes. I had a ball reading this book and I hope that you will as well. If you love bear shifters, awesome paranormal fantasy, incredible erotic scenes and a story that ends really well, this story is for you. But be warned, you will not want to put this down once you started.

Hedda, former witch of the now disbanded wolf shifters, was on her mine watch, when Derek's plane crashed into her forested domain. She protected the mine with her sisters so the trapped demons could not escape, but a shadow demon hungry for magic appeared. Together she and Derek vanquished it, once he embraced his 'bear'. We never were told the cause of his 'searing hip pain' /tattoo...Hmmm!! Another HEA!
Unidimensional characters and the muddled plot left me with more questions than answers. Meh!!!

This book was really good. We meet a witch who is trying to correct a wrong she did. We meet a shifter who has some issues with his bear because he arrived early and made his parents abandon him as a child. He was raised by a loving woman whos friend put a spell on him for 300 moons. What will the requirement be on him? What will happen next? Will they defeat her problem?

I've heard this was a good series so thought I'd give out a go. I swear I was on the verge jabbing my eyeballs out. This story makes no sense to me and the excitement factor is a big fat negative. The sexy factor is a giant subzero. I honestly don't care what happens to the bear or the witch. Maybe just maybe one of them meets a horrifically bloody end to hype up the interest for anyone who managed to read through to the end. It was a DNF for me.

Derek has always had control issues even when young. He wants to control everything around him. One thing he can’t control ends with him being stranded in the woods. Hedda is self punishing herself for not realizing what was in front of her. She saves Derek from the being lost in the woods only to have him rescue her back. Together they accomplish stuff. From small tokens to grand gestures, the Harkness household is growing.

Loved it! First book I've read by Tasha Black, but it won't be the last. Really enjoyed writing style with quirky characters. The story was amusing with several laugh out loud moments, and it was also romantic at times and characters had an interesting range of magical gifts. Off to read another book in 300 Moons series ASAP...Final Rating: 4.5 Stars

This harvest moon is Derek’s 300th moon and Kat/e expects him to come home NO excuse. Derek is returning home for his 300th moon when his plane crashes and the pilot is killed. Hedda goes to the crash site and finds Derek. She is on the mountain to protect the mountain and to keep the mime sealed against the moroi demons being released on the world again.

Great story! Ms. Black has put together in a very interesting way, just enough danger and romance to make you smile. I love romances that have both of these, as life is not perfect. I really enjoyed this this book and look forward to reading more of her books.

I really enjoyed this book! I read it while getting ready for Christmas and I hated when I had to set it down and do things. (Don't we all wish to keep reading when we find a good book) I am on to the next book in the series. Might get it read before the new year...lol

I really wanted to like this book - I just didn't. Didn't really like the main characters. The book also abruptly ended and there was not enough interest to try the next book - even though I had the box set.
