My name is Kya and I thought my safe decisions would lead to the American dream. And it had. But then I get sent to Vegas to sign up and coming MMA fighter, Fenton, to an endorsement deal.
He's cocky, flirty, and looks downright delicious... But I've never crossed the line with a client before so I was determined to not with him. The only problem is he's more difficult than any potential client I've dealt with and my boss is depending on me to get him signed.
Maybe just this one time I can cross the line.
I'm totally screwed.
* This sexy steamy MMA bad boy romance is perfect for fans of Joanna Blake, Devon Hartford, Sabrina Paige, Winter Renshaw, Vanessa Waltz and Dani Wyatt *
I'm so disappointed!! The story was eye catching and enchanting in the beginning. But as it kept going the characters annoyed me with the endless dialogue. The back and forth between Kya and Fenton was a waste. They were never on the same page and it seemed to me that they should have been. The timeline was way unbelievable and it just made me want to end the story. Overall the cut off ending the endless diatribe and the flighty characters make me want to never read stories from this author again.
Fenton is on his way to becoming a name in the MMA world. Kya is hired to get Fenton an endorsement deal, but Fenton doesn't want anything to do with it. Attracted to each other but not knowing if it is real or not. With the back and forth of it Fenton does anything to push Kya away. Kya is a distraction that Fenton doesn't need but wants. When there is miscommunication Kya meets another athlete Jackson and Jackson wants Kya. But Kya wants Fenton. Will Fenton past keep him from having Kya?
This was the worse MMA book I've ever read. There was no FIGHT action at all. The sex was written so vanilla I actually skimmed through most of the book just to get to the end.
These have got to be the most immature characters ever. This book angered me more and more with each page. This was a middle school romance set in Las Vegas hotels and casinos.
I adore Claire's work and this was the first time that I have given less than 4 Stars. I did enjoy the story line, I just found our two main leads a tad annoying.......so sue me.
This is Kya and Fenton's story. In a nutshell Kya is trying REALLY hard to sign Fenton as she is a promoter who helps athletes with their fame and who endorses them, their fees etc. Fenton is an up and coming MMA fighter. They meet in Vegas and Kya does a rather annoying job of traipsing round, following Fenton trying to get him to sign with her company.
The whole "does she want me for me or the contract" got old real soon and unfortunately Fenton really grated me at times. One minute he's all " I carn't start a relationship until I've made it" then he's getting huffy because Kya won't get hot and heavy with him. He was a little too quick to flirt with other women as well for my tastes. Kya she just needed to work out mentally what the hell she wanted. One minute she was all "professional and won't compromise her reputation".....the next she was yet again following Fenton around when he got huffy and walked out on her?!!!!. What the hell ?.
I know Claire takes pride on writing awesome and a little different story lines, but this one was a little too much to swallow at times. Please don't think it is unreadable it is not. The story line just confused me at time, no it annoyed me, that's more accurate of description.......sorry.
Kya was far to too like a puppy following Fenton around. Kya was really wishy washy as a leading lady, in my opinion she did not know what she wanted........the bonus or Fenton. Her lack of taking the hint when he said no to signing for her company puzzled the hell out of me. I know you have to be persistent on life......but come on !!!! Sheesh Kya needed to "women up" and "go for it" or she should have called it a day after one of the NUMEROUS times Fenton said he was not going to sign for her company. But no she was like an annoying scratch you cannot get ride of......just under your skin.....bugging you !!!
Fenton........don't get me started on him........he soooo needed to let go of his past and learn to talk about things, not just storm off thinking he was done. Also, will I am on a mission YOU DON'T LET BIMBO'S HANG OFF YOU WILL THE WOMEN YOU LIKE (AND WHO LIKES YOU) IS WATCHING......What's that all about ?
Okay, so I have cleansed my soul. This is still a fairly good read. I am just a princess perfect and even the end just finished leaving me to have to re-read the last page a few times to work out if it all ended okay or not.
I would recommend Claire's books to all. But if I am being honest her 25 days is top notch and should be read first to get a feel for her brilliant skills. This book needs to be read if you feel you need a little blood pressure spike and the need for a talk back to your kindle......I sure as hell shouted "What ?" a couple of times !!!
Still well done Claire, it was still an interesting read.
this book was pretty good. i liked the MMA stuff in this book, i wish it had a little more of it. All the parts with Kya believing everything that came out of the uptight golfers mouth was annoying and also Kya and Fenton's lack of self worth was annoying to the point were i was literally telling them to shut up and have some confidence in themselves, maybe if you acted like adults and not high schoolers you would get a better outcome! if it wasn't for those parts i probably would have enjoyed this book more. Even so i think this book was a solid 3 Stars. *i received this book for a review.*
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for a review. I really enjoyed this book and finished it in one night. I couldn't put it down. I had to see how it ended for Fenton & Kya. I hope that there's more in this line of story, maybe something about Kev and Sandi or Dana Marie & Matt Smith? Or maybe even something about Sienna? Or more about how bad Jackson McKay gets taken down. I liked how Ms Adams developed her characters, developed their stories and how their pasts kept keeping them apart.
Another great story about the intricate behind the scenes look at the world of MMA. Great story!
I thought this was one of the best books I have read in a while. I absolutely loved the back and forth between Kya and Fenton. For characters they had great chemistry. The story was fast paced and there was always something going on. It had great emotions, you had to laugh at some of the things these two characters did to each other, but there was also suspense, foul play, jealousy and hot sex. I have read a few of Claire Adams books and this was the best so far. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
First, I don't usually look at or read MMA / Fight books. That being said, I enjoyed this book and a learned a little bit about the MMA world.
Both Kya and Fenton want to have their life in perfect order before looking for a relationship - for different reasons but very similar in their outlook on life. Needless to say, they both are reluctant to enter into a relationship and try to fight the chemistry.
Kya is a endorser getting her next big client. He's an MMA fighter with a reputation of being a bad boy. Kya has her hands full. She use to tennis players and golfers. Fenton sees her and asks his manager about her. His manager kev says she's a goody too shoo. So when Fenton meets kya he's smitten with her, but, he can't let no distractions cost him his big fight. Can these two make a business deal? Or will more happen? Need to read. Fell in love.
One of the best books you have got to read this book great author great love story about a MMA fighter who grew up hard fell hard but didn't know how to handle it everything work against him but work out in the end you will enjoy the book so read it enjoy Margie Moran
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very interesting. I think Kya and spend Fenton really enjoyed one another and the little game they were playing back-and-forth. I just wish the book could've continued on. I could have read about the fight and what happened after the fight.
The book pulls you in and keeps you interested until the very last page.. I really wasn't that crazy about how it ended. I was left with too many unanswered questions but it was a good read.
REALLY?!?! THAT'S the ending?!?! Yet another book with so much bs back and forth that I have whiplash. And, yet another, story that features a supposed "strong female" that is pathetic, weak and naive. What a waste of my time
This was one hell of a book. I would definitely love to get a man like Fenton Morris. Sexy as hell. I would definitely recommend this book. A must read.
This story is cute . Fenton is a mma fighter. Kayla wants to Sponsor him this is the story of his rise as a star and Kayla his girl as well as the sponsor.
