The Rectory Mice

Rate this book
The year was 1914 and Grandfather mouse announced there was going to be a war. The young mice didn't really take much notice - it seemed nothing could destroy the peace of the country rectory and even the predicted cheese shortage showed no signs of happening.

Then one morning young Tamburlaine mouse saw something through the rector's telescope that sent him scampering back upstairs in fear. The whole family gathered round to hear his dreadful tale: he had seen an enemy airship and for the rectory mice the war was just beginning.

The rectory mice live in the rafters of Oby in Norfolk.
They live a happy life but it's 1914 , the out break of war and everything changes.
An exciting adventure, wonderful characters beautifully written.
Wonderful illustrations bring this story alive.
I loved it.
