Still reeling from her recent breakup, Arden, a struggling screenwriter, moves into her dream house in Hollywood. The only problem is, the place is already inhabited. By a ghost. A suave, 1940's movie star ghost who may have been an insanely jealous murderer back when he was still alive.

Can Arden survive long enough to help her ghostly roomie deal with his unfinished business and move on? And more importantly...can she do the same for herself?

Haunt Flashes is a clean, romantic comedy, cozy mystery.

Charming

It was an enjoyable story. It was entertaining and the characters were a little quirky. The mystery was solved with a happy ending

Who knew a ghost story could be this hilarious? I love this author's sense of humor, and can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This book had a really cute concept. It really had potential to be a really good and fun read. Unfortunately, the author rushed it. Yeah, you don't want the story to drag but the reader also wants a bit more world-building and more three dimensional characters. It really wasn't a bad story just really rushed.

Arden is an aspiring screenwriter with a cute Hollywood bungalow, a furniture restoration hobby and a cute neighbor. She also, it turn out, has a roommate, a sexy Italian actor who died in 1945 named Carlo.

Having a resident ghost that is both solicitous and devastatingly handsome is no hardship, until Arden discovers that Carlo’s story is darker than she thought. At this point, getting rid of her housemate becomes a priority, but to do so, she must find out how he died and why he is still sticking around.

Modern and vintage Hollywood collide in this amusing mystery book. Arden’s friends are hilarious (particularly her true-to-life writing group), and her sleuthing is very interesting. The ending is both thrilling and sweet at the same time.

If you’re looking for a cute, well-researched ghost mystery, pick up Haunt Flashes. You won’t be disappointed.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. For some reason, I was thinking it would be mystery involving a woman thinking there was a ghost, and not an actual ghost. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was a real "ghost story". And better than that, a ghost mystery and love story. I pegged the ending pretty early on, but it was still very interesting. I actually can't wait to read more.

What an amazing talent this author has. Her writing really makes you feel like you are right there, watching everything that is happening. This is a very easy book to read in one evening. And as always, the mystery is very well thought out with twists that you don't see coming.. I definitely recommend this book to all mystery readers.

Spookverhaal. Je moet ervan houden en het moet ook een beetje spannend zijn. Ik houd er niet van en spannend was het ook al niet. De hoofdpersoon is een hysterische juffrouw, die maar niet uit de verf wilde komen. Tja.

A história é divertidinha e interessante. O senso de humor dela não é dos maaaaaaaaaaaaaais maravilhosos do mundo, mas te deixa animado pra saber como a história continua. E, por ser um livro mais curto, você termina rapidinho.

True love never ends

Haunted Hollywood #1 features a 1940s ghost of a leading man, a murder (or self-defense?), and a romance spanning decades and death. Cute read.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Finally, an interesting concept from this author. Sure, the ghost-wants-help-solving-own-murder trope has been over done, but at least the author tried to wrap it in something a bit more modern and (almost) believable. Unfortunately, the execution was a bit lame and hurried. I was hard pressed to even care about the ghost, much less any of the other one-dimensional characters in the story.

This was a stand-alone story, FYI. I don't see any series coming out of this one.
