This modern-day western captured my attention and pulled me into the story right from the start. It is an easy read that kept me glued to my iPad as I imagined where the story would take me. I sometimes guessed right and sometimes guessed wrong, but I was never disappointed. I enjoyed watching the transition experienced by both protagonists as their first impressions proved to be incorrect, and they learned to trust each other. If you are interested in a clean romance that will hold your interest all the way through, I recommend this book to you.
I really liked the combination of a bit of adventure/action and romance in this book. The characters were likeable and their story was sweet. I guess I just felt that the pacing was off a bit. Sometimes there was so much attention to detail, like describing the setting, but then other things were completely glossed over. I felt the ending wrapped up very suddenly as well. Still a cute read though, and I'm excited to read other books in this series!
Romance, clean This was more of a 3.5 for me as a reader. Fun read. While a series, this is a stand alone novel. Olivia's fiance has a shady side to him, and she starts realizing it when he brings some horses without telling her to her Father's farm to board to start a breeding and training stable with him. Adam, the Veterinarian, and her father's partner with the stables has some concerns with the abrupt and strange way the horses are brought to the facility. As Olivia and Adam spend more time together, Olivia's prejudices ease away, and she finds herself more attracted to Adam. This was a fun read. I always enjoy a western setting, with work around horses. Olivia and Adam were pretty fleshed out characters, but most of the other characters were a bit flat for me. I still enjoyed the telling. I always enjoy a cute fall between two honest hearts.
Olivia Nielson comes to her parents ranch to help while they go to help her Uncle. She is six months away from opening her own stables with her finance closer to the city and will be traveling the hour drive weekly to attend social events to promote her new business.
Shane her realtor, partner in the development brings three horses to her father's ranch the first week without clearing it with her, he demands she attend social functions, hurts her and controls the entire project. When she finds Shane cheating on her, she breaks the engagement and demands the paperwork on her investment. This is when the real trouble starts.
Adam, the local vet and her Dad's business partner is her rock through the troubles and helps her heal while she falls for the tall handsome Doctor.
5 stars I purchased a copy of Olivia: Western Hearts Series book 3 by Kate Palmer and this review was given freely. Olivia by Kate Palmer is a romantic suspense that features Dak's youngest brother Andrew. Andrew is another sensitive and family oriented man who just happens to be a veterinarian and the partner of Olivia's father. Olivia has a sad and tragic life filled with danger, a cheating fiance, stolen horses. and abuse. Andrew through love and steadfast friendship helps Olivia regain her humor, confidence, sense of adventure and sense of well being. I enjoyed the continued story of Dak and Storm's family as well as the thoughtful caring way Andrew treats Olivia.
Good clean fun. Easy read story about a girl who invested her life savings and then some in a ponzi scam set up by her fraudulent fiancé. He scammed her and the investors, stole horses, not sure how he thought he could get away with it. Thank goodness for the vet Adam that had faith in Olivia and baled her out of the mess she was in.
Sometimes people can be such manipulators. Olivia is manipulated by a conniving boyfriend that just uses her but she finds what she truly wants in a veterinarian she falls in love with. A great read!
A very good mystery, romance. With enough twists and turns to keep you intrigued. A real page turner. I loved this story..this is a very good and interesting read.
I read the book in one seating. Fantastic. If you are looking for bad guys, good guys and romance along with great horse scenery, this book is a must read.
I love a good western story filled with adventure, mystery, and romance. This book delivered all of that. Olivia is a horse trainer who returns home to look after the ranch, while her parents are gone for six months. She is not excited about the veterinarian that her father decided to partner with and sparks fly from the start. Their lives intertwine as they deal with constant problems that try to knock Olivia down. The main characters were engaging and Adam was a great leading man, who was easy to love. I've read one other book in this series, however, this story can completely stand alone. Looking forward to reading about Alexis. I'm new to this author, but will be following her from now on!
