A violent manga that rightfully demonizes atrocities committed against slaves and those who committed them literally. It is almost metaphorical on how the ugliest citizens of society take advantage of prejudices to commit their crimes (take for examples how serial killers tend to target prostitutes, POC and the poor). Another interesting detail to note is that this is a Japanese manga making a comment about racism and slavery.

Amazing schlock manga from the 1990s. Why in the HELL wasn't this brought to America?

Great storytelling and great use of historical fiction to mirror actual American History committed towards enslaved Africans. Also this is the series that inspired Quenton Tarantino to make, Django Unchained.
