Finding a mate is a love determined by fate, but what if he's everything she's forbidden to love?

Raised by an overly protective wulfkin pack, Daciana leaps at the chance to venture into the human world for her one-year independence ritual. But after someone steals the endangered bear cubs she's been assigned to protect, she must locate them or lose her job and return home in disgrace. The sexy inspector on the case isn't making this any easier. He knows nothing of her kind, and wulfkin rules forbid relationships with humans.

Newly divorced Inspector Connell Lonescu trusts no one but himself. He's convinced relationships are a waste of time and thinks burying himself in work will ease the pain. Yet he's attracted to the gorgeous and mysterious Daciana, even if there's something slightly odd about her. Can Connell learn to trust the sexy but secretive woman?

Daciana is wulfkin, able to shift during the full moon and currently on her one year independence ritual before returning to mate and live with the pack. The problem? She wants more, she wants to feel free, to make her own decisions, to be her own person, but her year of freedom may be coming to a screeching halt if the two missing bear cubs she has been assigned to protect for aren’t found pronto.

Enter the human police, and one too hot to ignore inspector who looks at Daciana as a suspect when she cannot account for being in the woods in the middle of the night without a coat, without an excuse and a little too flustered to be convincing with every lie she tried. To tell the truth would reveal her kind to the humans and things are not looking good for our Daciana.

Love knows no rules and their close contact becomes too hot to ignore, but how does Daciana keep her secret and her human? Should she ignore her feelings, the raging inferno of their intimate encounters and focus on finding the bear cubs and disappearing?

Cloaked by T.F. Walsh is a light read filled with sizzling sexual heat, mistrust in relationships and those nasty deep secrets that could shatter the fragile relationship being built. Ms. Walsh takes us into a world that is filled with tension on every level, where desires and rules are at odds that could be deadly. A quick read, not overly detailed but you WILL feel the heat and taste the spice of all things taboo!

A super fun urban fantasy! I really enjoyed the chemistry between Daciana and Connell, the two main characters. Great voice, and moves along at a fast pace. Both of the characters have secrets in their past (and present!) that challenge their growing attraction for each other. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. Very sexy and spicy! You may need a cold shower after this one :) I look forward to reading more about these two.

What an intriguing tale! Walsh has created a uniquely original plot that combines the best of the supernatural with something completely her own. The plot kept me on my toes throughout while also inviting me in to this fantastic world. Walsh’s writes with a style that really highlights the underlying suspense of the story. At the same time, her approachable and likeable characters made me want to know more about them and to get to know them on an even deeper level throughout the series. I loved the feeling that everything had worked out yet still wondering how exactly everything would work out.

Overall, this was a neat introduction into the world of the wulfkin that left me wanting to know more. It was a great lead-in to the series.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I love finding new authors, especially ones who's books grip you from the first page and leave you wanting more.
This is only a novella but wow what a story, it's unlike most shifter books, firstly because it's not centred around an Alpha finding his mate and secondly, the main shifter character is female which makes a refreshing change.
The storyline is fast paced and seamless and the chemistry between Daciana and Connell is flirtatious and sizzling.
My advice,grab this book now, you won't be disappointed.

This was everything I love in a story. Paranormal, some mystery, great chemistry, and will leave you wishing for more. Daciana is a woman/wolf who is spending a year among humans before she must return to her pack and start a family. She must keep her wolf side a secret or she'll be returned to her pack and in major trouble. When she inadvertently assists the kidnapping of bear cubs from her work, she goes into detective mode to find the culprit so she can keep her job. Unfortunately, the lead detective on the job, Connell, keeps catching her while she's sleuthing. Their chemistry is undeniable. I loved the couple and the story. I could not stop turning pages. I'll definitely be picking up the rest of the series!

A fun read for fans of the first book and newcomers alike.

Cloaked in Fur was a fun read and an interesting spin on the werewolf-shapeshifter romance genre. It was particularly different in that it opened with the hero and heroine already together, but the heroine’s secrets, pack politics, and a murder mystery threatening to shake them apart.

In Cloaked, a prequel, the author decides to fill in the blanks by telling the story of their first meeting and adventure together.

This is also the first time we get a look into the interior thoughts of Connell, the male lead. Since Cloaked in Fur was told entirely from female shapeshifter Daciana’s point of view, Connell’s perspective does much to further illuminate his character. Being recently divorced in the wake of spousal cheating, he has some understandable trust issues. This combined with his job as an inspector for the police and said job’s requirement of a suspicious nature, has complicated his relationship with Daciana and all the secrets she must keep out of necessity.

But a mission awaits: a bear cub has been stolen from Daciana’s workplace, leaving her holding the metaphorical bag as prime suspect. A role she doesn’t shy away from, considering her suspicious behavior. This draws Connell’s attention, which is itself a pleasant experience for both of them. Adventure, mystery, teamwork and romance ensues.

While I personally thought the first book stands well on its own and the story of Daci and Connell’s first meeting was not necessary, fans will surely enjoy this extra chapter of the story until the long-awaited sequels are ready. Newcomers to the series will likewise find much to enjoy, such as the intensely-realized Romanian setting and the quirks of the main characters. Daci in particular can be both lovable and irritating, considering all her secrecy puts Connell through. Justified or not, she owes him more than a few apologies by the end, and thankfully realizes it.

I was provided a copy of Cloaked: A Wulfkin Legacy Novella in exchange for an honest review.

Cloaked is the prequel to Cloaked in Fur, which I absolutely loved. If you are like me, and have already read Cloaked in Fur, Cloaked is awesome, because we get to see how Daciana and Connell meet. How their relationship progresses; and oh my, their sexual chemistry is HOT HOT HOT!

No worries if you haven’t read Cloaked in Fur, this is the perfect book to get you hooked on the series (I hope) . There is mystery, romance, a bit of danger and smoking hot detective; and an incredibly caring and spunky, shape shifter female lead. I mean seriously what is not to love?

I am giving Cloaked a HUGE 5 stars I can’t wait to see what comes next!...Sara

Daciana is a wulfkin who shifts into werewolf mode during full moons, and she is independent from her pack in the human world during her one-year ritual. When bear cubs under her care go missing, she doesn’t want to feel like a failure to herself and others. She must find those cubs, even though the path to them is fraught with danger. When Connell, a police inspector, enters the picture, things get real steamy in this paranormal romance. It was interesting to see this relationship develop between a wulfkin and human. I had the pleasure of reading an ARC provided by the author.

Well written and enjoyable!

The well-written storyline kept my attention, and I enjoyed the steady pace.
Somehow the first sex scene seemed rather out of place, rushed, and unexpected, like it didn't really belong. Imho, the author could very well have left that bit out and still maintained a good read.
A few instances of independent body parts that threw me off a little, but otherwise an all around good story left with a cliffhanger for the next book in the series.
I look forward to the continuation.

My Review:
While these two books can stand on their own, I am reviewing them as one because their stories blend seamlessly. I won't belabor the details of the story since you have the summary of that above for each of the books.

Ms. Walsh came up with a wonderful storyline for the novella that was fresh and new. She writes very well, too. In spite of the fact that Daciana could have been discovered at any moment, I was laughing at her trying to get dressed in her office before anyone walked in one her. I could picture the whole scene either watching it or actually doing it. She doesn't just tell you what's happening, she shows you. Such a difference in the enjoyment of a book. Thank heavens she didn't linger at the kill sites. But she made it possible to hear the "click" when Daci and the inspector first locked eyes.

They make a great couple. Inspector Connell Lonescu. He's recently divorced, losing his best friend in the process. Daciana, a moon wulf, changing on the full moon. But their relationship is HOT! And once they resolved some of the problems they seemed to be buried in, they actually got time to fall in love. That should stand them in good stead as they deal with the load of troubles coming their way in the future!

The novella had its own crime and began their relationship. The first novel rounds out their relationship and has its own crisis. Plus, the pack has problems. It seems to set up Daciana as being in charge of the pack at the end of book one. But a female in charge and with a human boyfriend, how will the pack react? I don't have book two, yet, so I don't know. I did happen to pick up another novella, Cloaked in Christmas, for future reading.

This is a series I strongly recommend to any of you who enjoy paranormal. The writing is great and the stories so far seem fresher. And the relationships steamy!

I could never tell a soul about being a moonwulf 10 GOLD MOONS

WOW! What a WULFKINTASTIC story! Pure WOW! I have never read a shifter story like Cloaked before because I don't think that any story – shifter or otherwise - could compare or compete with this Wulfkin Legacy!! Truly a FURTASTIC story and this is only the prequel!!! I am beyond ecstatic that I just now discovered T.F. Walsh because book 2 (the third story in the series counting this prequel as one) recently released meaning I get to read A TON of story RIGHT NOW! And FULL LENGTH NOVELS too, I might add! (That makes my inner book junkie squeal with excitement!) No waiting to see what happens to Daciana & her Wulfkin side, her pack, her job and of course Connell! I am beyond fascinated with the wulfkin-side, the powers, abilities, the rohang and everything else that goes with being a shifter. The differences between being a "regular old shifter" vs. being a wulfkin vs. being a moonwulf have me so eager to discover all of the secrets, differences as well as the various abilities that go with each of them. Having the story set in Romania adds an intriguing quality, a more real feel to it all! SHHHRRRRIIIIIEEEEKKK I ABSO-FURRY-LUTELY LOVE every single bit of this book! It is like reading a shifter book for the first time! This is not your happy-go-lucky fluffy HEA Fairy Tale type of story nor is this your typical "read a few minutes and walk away" kind of story. I DARE you to be able to put this down after only reading for a short bit! It truly is that compelling, that intriguing and that WULFDERFUL and SHIFTACULAR!! This may be my first T.F. Walsh story, but now that I have discovered her and her phenomenal talent, well, let's just say she has unleashed my inner fangirl! Now off to continue my T.F. Walsh binge fest! I don’t think I could EVER truly convey just how much I LOVE this book and the rest of the series! PHENOMENAL, ABSO-WULF-LUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!

I've said it in previous reviews and I'll say it again: I love books with strong female leads. I'd rather read a novel with women like Melody Callahan than those with weak-ass "girls" in some contemporary romance books. This has NOTHING to do with feminism, okay? I don't want people to misinterpret that. I just like stories that puts the female protagonist, in this case Daciana, in serious and/or dangerous situations. And there is no shortage of that here in Cloaked.

Daciana can be found in a couple--or more--scenes where she's fighting for her life, both in human and wolf form. She has this authority that animals understand; an aura or scent that says, "Don't mess with me because I can easily kill you." Even in her petite, human form she doesn't stop fighting for her life and that of the cubs she's trying to rescue. And this is where I started liking Connell; he understands Daciana's impulse to follow her instinct and solve this case on a good note, and he doesn't try to stop her. He doesn't treat this woman who likes to dress like a ninja at night like a frail woman who needs protecting. Even when he sees her battered and bruised, he didn't go all alpha on her and said "I told you so." He respected her for her bravery and passion, and he deserves a pat on the back for that.

There weren't a lot of characters introduced in Cloaked which is good in a way because the readers' attention will be more focused on the leads and the story. Speaking of the story, Cloaked is intriguing and exciting. We don't really know what will happen in the following parts of the series, and that keeps us readers on our toes.

I ALWAYS START BY SAYING MY REVIEWS ARE 100% HONEST & SPOILER FREE.
Now with that out of the way let me start by saying this is my 1st read by T.F Walsh & I'm now a fan for life. I LOVE her writing style, I love how she was able to capture my attention from GO. I love her ability for character building. I even LOVED how the story is told from different characters perspectives, generally that is something I don't like & usually confuses me, but this was done perfectly on point.
Daciana *Daci is a moon wulfkin , which means she is allowed to run free during the full moon & this is how the book starts, in her wolf form. She is in the city away from the pact for 1yr before she is to return to find her mate & become a true member of the pact. Her mother was human & she doesn't know who her real father is which is what makes her different (the 1/2 human part).
She knows the rules of her 1yr away from the pact. Which is to keep herself out of trouble, take care of herself, under no circumstances is she to allow any human to know about her kind & definitely NOT fall in love with one.
Daci has a very suitable job at an animal Rescue & return center. Unfortunately she makes a mistake that may cost her the job & her current freedom. She is a lovable, hilarious, straight forward, no filter character with flaws of her own.
How much will Daciana risk to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding this story? How will she handle working side by side with the local police force, 1 officer in particular who seems to catch her eye? Will she go for him & break the pack rules, or will she keep her hormones in check? Besides these questions THAT I WILL NOT ANSWER, there are many more & I highly recommend you read this to find out for yourself

I received an ARC for free in exchange for an honest opinion.

Daciana, a wolf shifter, has left her pack for a year. When her time is up she will have to return and choose a mate. She wants to experience life and find a mate, but someone she is in love with...and that isn't anyone in her pack.

In her job, she is caring for a set of bear cubs that are too young to survive on their own. One night they are taken and she is quite upset as she doesn't want any harm to come to them. When she goes down to the police station to make her statement she meets Connell, another investigator. It seems he has his own open case involving missing animals so he feels this case may have something to do with his case.

Of course, the attraction between Daciana and Connell is felt by both. Daciana knows she must mate a wolf and Connell is just getting over an ongoing divorce. The more time they spend together, the stronger the attraction grows.

Someone is not happy with Connell and Daciana's involvement in the animal cases as it is cutting into his profits. Will they solve the case and save the animals? Will they survive?

I enjoyed this story. It is a Novella but the author gave us great background information on the characters so I felt like I could relate to them. This is a standalone read but Daciana's adventures do continue on in the next few books.

Both character's are really good people. Connell has had his heart stomped on by a cheating wife and has lost someone who he thought was a friend. He is trying to adjust to the changes in his life. Daciana is learning what life is like outside the pack life and she is loving it. This is a good read and I would recommend it.

A great start to the a fantastic series!

CLOAKED: A Wulfkin Legacy Novella is a gripping, fast-paced story about Daciana, a young wolf shifter, and Connell, a recently divorced inspector, and what happens when two very different people are forced to work together and fall in love. When the bear cubs Daciana has been watching over go missing, her and Connell team up to find the captures before she loses her job. Daci can't help her feelings for the inspector, but her wolf origins forbid her from being with a human. Will she be able to go against her pack for the one she loves? And will Connell be able to trust a woman wrapped up in lies and secrets?

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Connell's and Daci's love form, since we begin CLOAKED IN FUR in the middle of their relationship. This book offered a deeper insight to both characters. We learn a lot about Connell, too, and since I usually enjoy reading male POVs, it was interesting to see his side of the story. Walsh was smart in her decision to add this novella to her series. It was short, but don't let the size fool you. The story really packed a punch.

If you've read CLOAKED IN FUR, you'll love this addition to the story. If CLOAKED is your first visit into the Wulfkin world, welcome! Get ready to for a perfectly weaved tale of sacrifice, sexy heroes, and deadly secrets.

This is a prequel and, while not technically a cliffhanger, it doesn't feel like a complete work. This story introduces the characters and their first case. From the preview of the following story, Cloaked in Fur, the action will pick up nine months later when things are building toward a crisis point. I liked where it was going and thought the writing good so I will probably follow up with the next book in the series. The mythology of wolf shifters here is different than I've seen before. When young, like Daci, the transformation only happens as a forced change at the full moon. After a certain age and rite of passage, a shifter becomes a full Wulfkin, able to make the change at will. There are a number of other interesting cultural rules and customs that set up the problem with Daci getting involved with the yummy detective Connell. There is definite chemistry and the sex is well written. I got the first book discounted through a deal-of-the-day promotion and will pick up the next on Kindle Unlimited. I think the series would be worth it either way.

Daciana is on her year away from her wolf pack. She is working at an animal institute. When the bear cubs she has been looking after are taken she is thrown into the mix as suspect, investigator and trespasser. Through this she works with Connell, the Inspector in charge of the case. Through their search the two become closer and as their passion flares so does the intensity of the case. Will they be able to control their passions long enough to find the bear cubs or will they be too late?

I love Daciana and Connell. They are smart, well developed characters that flow well within the story. You can really see how their relationship developed into the one we see in Cloaked in Fur. The paranormal aspect is fairly little in this book. It is mentioned and she only shifts one time. If you are looking for something that has a lot of paranormal this novella won’t give it to you. But, this is a prequel that definitely shows the paranormal in the follow-up. Overall, this is a great novella. I can’t wait to see what T.F Walsh has in store next.

This novella is filled with fast-paced excitement from the very first page. The main character, Daciana, is sympathetic, smart, and sexy. She's living in a city for the first time and worried about money and her job, just like any normal single woman -- but Daciana isn't normal. She's a wolf shifter with heightened senses and paranormal powers. You’ll root for her to find kidnapped orphan bear cubs and to consummate the heat she feels for handsome Connell, the police detective assigned to the case. The only problem is no wulfkin is allowed to have a relationship with a human. If Daciana and Connell give in to their desires, she’ll be kicked out of her pack.

That’s quite a conflict!

TF Walsh writes a page-turning plot and a steamy romance. Her writing’s brilliant, and I enjoyed everything about this novella. If you love shifters—or even if you don’t—you’ll love this book! And her novel, CLOAKED IN FUR, is every bit as good. Very highly recommended!

~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Daciana works at the institute and had been caring for baby bear cubs until they were stolen. Being a wolf on Rohan's, she is enjoying living among the humans. When the police come to investigate, she has to tell the team about leaving her key outside. The two officers that she is assigned to work with to find the Cubs are at odds with one another. Anton is the ultimate player while Connell is very nice. When the sparks fly between her and Connell, they make the perfect team. They trace he bear cubs to an abandon shack and soon she is in the thrones of the kidnappers.
With the Bears safe and the criminals dealt with, she only has one issue left....she has to find a way to tell Connell that she is a wolf.
Great read. Very beautifully written with a wow factor of a storyline.
This is a fast-paced, action-packed steamy read. I finished it in a single sitting, unable to put it down without finding out how things worked out. Daciana is a feisty heroine, but even feisty girls can have weak spots for certain guys, and Connell is that guy...
The passionate romance is perfectly balanced by the action and the supernatural elements were woven in so seamlessly they felt like real life.
Definitely recommended. Although if you tend to blush easily, maybe avoid reading it in public!
T. F. Walsh is a new writer for me and I am very glad to have found her!! I have found myself reading many paranormal / shifter books lately & "Cloaked" is a new spin on shifters with very strong characters. The story unfolds with each of the main characters giving their perspective on what is happening and you can really understand how they think! Dacina & Connell find each other - and the secrets that Dacina carries could be devastating! This is the prequel to the series and I am off to read "Cloaked in Fur"!!
This novella is the introduction to T.F. Walsh's Wulfkin Legacy world.
Daciana is a wulfkin - a wolf shapeshifter. The wulfkin have a practice similar to what the Amish do for their children, which is to allow them to live outside their insular society of birth for one year before giving them the choice to either return or leave the Amish way of life. The difference here is that the wulfkin don't allow their young people the choice of leaving.
Daci wants more than pack life, and raising the next generation to keep the pack strong. She has a job working at an animal rehabilitation facility, an apartment, and a fierce sense of independence. When two bear cubs are stolen from her workplace she faces the very real possibility of being dragged back into the pack's fold before her year is up. The local police offer her the opportunity to work with them during their investigation because of her keen sense of smell. She picks up a distinctive scent around the empty cages that had not been present before.
She pairs up with detective Connell and the sparks fly. The two have great chemistry, but theirs is a tentative relationship that's being built on lies. How is Daciana supposed to tell him about her true nature? How is Connell supposed to trust Daciana's evasiveness having just gone through a nasty separation with a wife who's almost wrecked his ability to trust? What happens at the end of Daciana's year long period of freedom? These questions make me want to keep reading!
Cloaked is the prequel to Cloaked in Fur by T.F. Walsh.  Prequel is a good term to describe it.  It’s an interesting glimpse into the life of Daciana, a moonwulf living out her one year of rohang.  Rohang was a tradition where the wolf lived among humans and away from the pack and if she made it through the year without drawing attention to herself, she’d be considered a full-fledged pack member.
Daciana worked at the Animal Research Institute where she took care of bear cubs.  Upon arriving at work one morning, Daciana learned that the bear cubs had been stolen and she was determined to help the police find the criminals and save the cubs.  This would put Daciana in the path of Connell, the detective assigned to the case.
With Daciana’s wolf sense of smell, she will prove to be vital to finding the bear cubs.  Daciana had to be careful and not let Connell know she was a wolf.  Working together, they solve the mystery of the missing cubs and fall for each other at the same time.  Their passion is electric and the relationship is great until the one year of rohang is almost over.
Daciana is supposed to return to her pack and leave Connell behind.  How can she do that?  What can she do to stay with him?  Cloaked is a great lead into Cloaked in Fur.  You get a better glimpse into the beginning stages of Daciana and Connell’s relationship.  Although this prequel doesn’t have many pages, there’s plenty of action to keep you intrigued.  Cloaked makes you want to read Cloaked in Fur to see what happens next!
I love everything I have read by Mila Young so I have gone back to read some of her earlier books. I was not disappointed, the writing was brilliant, the story was captivating and there is more to come. The 2 main characters are together at the end but she still hasnt told him about her wolf side and she is due to return to her pack shortly. As he stipulated no secrets when they got together this wont go down well although if she does tell him it would possibly mean both of their deaths. I really want to continue this series but at the time of writing this review Amazon has removed this authors books. I really hope they reinstate them soon as readers are missing out on wonderful stories by this amazing author
